Link me that. Sounds fun.

Boomer 06-13-2013 01:53 AM

Nice, I don't think Zampella has ever showed up for anything on GB. Interested to see what he's like.

Boomer 06-13-2013 01:54 AM

Well current show is http://www.twitch.tv/giantbomb or http://www.giantbomb.com/chat/.

Are you asking for that 2011 Blow chat?

Think he might have been the one who also revealed how expensive the patch system was for XBL and PSN which got everyone pissed off at both Microsoft and Sony.

Boomer 06-13-2013 02:00 AM

Yeah, the chat from 2011 is here. I was scrubbing through, and it looks like they are talking about it around 50-60 minutes in:

I think you and I were talking about it in the 2011 E3 thread too at the time.

Really loved that discussion, especially right in front of the MS guys. Wish Blow had talked more; really enjoyed his perspective. The MS guys were a little too indoctrinated for my tastes.

Time for them to start talking shit about the shows on the stream. Excited.

Nothing's convinced me to consider PC as a primary gaming platform.

#BROKEN Hasney 06-13-2013 07:19 PM

I now have close to 500 games on Steam. I guess I would say I'm convinced.

Gonna upgrade this GPU when the next gen consoles hit and it will be delightful.

Kalyx triaD 06-13-2013 07:50 PM

That's a big collection! My gaming is dictated by 'where the party' is pretty much. We like big fighting game sessions on a central TV, ya know. I'm also big on online competitive multiplayer, shooters and the like. And I'm very 'insular' if that's the right word to use, I have a set of games I'm happy with and I stick to them for the better part of the year (or more!) and I adjust my playlist very few times. I'm picky and like to stay settled when something comes along.

So I'm thinking, Battlefield 4 and Titanfall on Xbox One will more than tide me over. 360 has to hang around for current gen fighters like SFxT, SoulCalibur V, and Tekken Tag 2. Unless of course the 'little brother' versions of Battlefield 4 and Titanfall on 360 service me just enough. Xbox One will really come in handy sometime next E3, I imagine. All the consoles really, since year 2/3 is often when fighting games come around. I really hate the transition periods, takes a while for things to normalize.

VSG 06-13-2013 10:45 PM

I got about 250 games on steam and about 20 on Origin, definitely a pc gamer myself. I just prefer a mouse to a controller any day.

Try not to forget that any XBLA games wont carry over to the One. So hold onto that 360 for awhile.

Kalyx triaD 06-13-2013 10:55 PM

...That's what I meant overall. lol

I'm well aware nothing carries over. 360 simply has to stay until new versions appear. The Tetris, the Pac Mans, all of that.

alvarado52 06-13-2013 11:30 PM

which is total bullshit if you ask me. I know the architecture is different from 360 to One...but i also know emulation is very much a possibility since the 360 and PS3 emulated for backward compatibility.

Emperor Smeat 06-13-2013 11:48 PM

According to the official statements from both Sony and Microsoft, its mainly because they keep changing who provides the CPU and/or GPU for their consoles.

Nintendo on the other hand can provide it a lot more easier since they've just stuck with IBM since going disc-based for CPU. They've moved from an ATI to AMD chip but those are pretty compatible with each other than if it was nVidia or something else.

It's whatever. Years ago me and the guys still pulled out the PS2 for certain fighting games even as we were playing Halo 3 and such on 360. this isn't a new occurrence, though optimally I'd have liked for at least the XBLA stuff to carry over.

I wonder if they could simply have teams re-make those games for X1. Saves wouldn't carry over but it would be a start.

#BROKEN Hasney 06-14-2013 03:54 AM

I think they are making it so you'll be able to buy them in the future. Halo 3 is coming to PC and I would assume it's because they're porting to the architecture anyway for XBone.

Kalyx triaD 06-14-2013 04:48 AM

Yeah a part of me feels like a lot of stuff would find a way their anyway, that's a big library I don't think they'll let sit there.

Extreme Angle 06-18-2013 04:22 PM

Turning to PC gaming is definitely the best thing i've done. Though I can't help but feel I buy games and never play them, just because they're cheap.

Kalyx triaD 06-18-2013 04:30 PM

Stop wasting money.

Extreme Angle 06-18-2013 07:19 PM

I'd like to see you try! Steam sales are like crack...

Kalyx triaD 06-18-2013 07:47 PM

See me try not to waste money?

Extreme Angle 06-19-2013 05:24 AM

It's no really wasting money, it's just you end up buying everything you 'always wanted to play', all at once because they're cheap.
I've bought 10 games at once in Steam Sales, then only got around to playing a few of them. Mainly based on uni work, but yeah...

Do you PC game at all, Kalyx?

Fignuts 06-19-2013 05:30 AM

Not wasting money as long as you get around to playing it eventually.

VSG 06-19-2013 10:03 AM

That's what I kept telling myself when all the amazon, GMG, gamefly (and other) sales were going on this past month.

I think people are blowing what he said out of proportion. Though it's been a week and nobody's gone too outrageous.

On the other hand, Peter shouldn't like about online passes. They already admitted it was about the money. Don't pretend you have our best interest at hearts.

Except there's no actual physical addiction factor and no excuse for the inability to control yourself as such.

That's stupid. You are stupid, Kalyx. You should only play Tetris as it was meant to be played. On a Virtual Boy. Anything else is worthy of scorn.

Scorn.

I don't know where to put this so... here....

Remember those GiantBomb videos Boomer and I were talking about? The ones where they interview Cliffy B and Jonathan Blow and talk about what happened that E3 and what have you.

It turns out, there may have been a porno shot in that same studio hours before they set up for the interview. Maybe.

25 June 13 by Olivia Solon

This year at gaming extravaganza E3, videogame website Giant Bomb rented a professional studio to shoot event coverage in. When they arrived they found a number of mysterious, "half-assed" sets including a police station, hospital room, prison shower and numerous bedrooms.

After some time Nathan Vella, co-founder of Capybara Games, discovered an annotated porn script, entitled "Episode 3 -- Yellow Revisions". The team has since made it their aim to track down the footage that was shot in the studio.

In a blog post, Max Temkin, said that the implications "are staggering". The team is pretty sure that "videogame luminaries" such as indie designer Jonathan Blow, former Epic design director Cliff Bleszinski, Sony's Adam Boyes and Vinny Caravella had all used the desks and beds that had previously hosted "vigorous pornographic, ball-slapping sex just days or even hours earlier".

The team has posted the complete script online as a PDF. It features a scene where lead female "Dylan" is pulled over by a policeman -- described as "a square-jawed stud" -- for drunk driving. He then asks her to get into his car and takes her to a deserted warehouse building, where they have "hard sex". A second plotline sees a character called Nick -- a professor -- dealing Oxycontin to a student, Angela. When she doesn't have the money to pay for the drugs, Nick allows her to pay him with, well, you know. You can read the rest for yourself here.

Giant Bomb is offering up $100 (£65) to the first person who can track down the video for the script or a video from another episode of the series that uses the same set.

You can check out pictures of the studio in question -- Willow Studios -- to see if you recognise any of the sets.

Have you seen the movie in question? Then email Temkin cardsagainsthumanity+pornscript@gmail.com
