Not really important to much of anything, but I wonder if "12%" is going to be some dialogue quirk thing in the movieverse. Starlord had 12% of a plan, Stark/Potts had 12% of the credit/a moment... wouldn't be surprised if it were inoccusously thrown in other movies/Agents going foward "just because".

Well, I'm not a "comic guy" myself, though I do know some things about the Marvel Universe, but before seeing this movie, I pretty much knew absolutely nothing about Guardians of the Galaxy, though I did read up on the main characters before seeing the film, just to know what their names were.

Anyway, I knew nothing about GotG, but I thought this film was fantastic and I wasn't confused at all by anything in the film. I personally found the movie to be very easy to follow and to understand, and I also didn't feel like I was watching a movie based on a comic.

I would actually go to the cinema to see the film again, though in 2D, as my friend booked to watch the 3D version for some reason. Also, I enjoyed the film so much, that I may actually buy it on DVD when it's released, and I'm not a guy that really buys movies on DVD. If I do, it's movies that I thoroughly enjoyed and that I know I will never grow tired of watching.

I'm ok with that honestly. It's a nice little universal in joke that can be used in a variety of situations. And honestly, they've only used it twice. So there's that.

just got back from this. awesome movie. had no idea about the characters going into it, but it was pretty easy to follow. they did a good job of laying everything out. definitely looking forward to more.

Don't see why they'd make that so hard to spot. He's fairly important, moreso than being an extra hidden easter egg.

Because 99 percent of the people watching the movie wouldnt get it.

There was not "point" to the scene". Neither was more important. They got to show 2 things, one of hardcores, one for the "general" masses.

Warlock will be huge when he shows up, and he will be introduced in a way that wont be related to that scene at all

I loved it, but I expected to. Was a little unsure about the missus, but she loved it too!!

Also, bonus points for Brendan Brady being in it!

Asmo 08-11-2014 03:00 AM

Whoever set the vision for the MCU, hat's off to them!

Caught the movie yesterday. Had a lot on my mind, and the movie totally helped calm me down, relax, and care about it. Been spinning the 'Awesome Mix Vol. 1' since the drive back home from the theater.

Missed the second end credits spoiler. Will watch this again, soon.

Miotch 08-11-2014 02:31 PM

Wait what was the 2nd end credit spoiler?

ron the dial 08-11-2014 02:36 PM

that gertner's gay.

Hanso Amore 08-11-2014 02:54 PM

Howard the Duck and Cosmo the dog fucking with the collector, with Adam Warlocks empty cocoon in the background. Not really a spoiler...more of a confirmation that at some point Adam Warlock will show up...

Miotch 08-11-2014 04:04 PM

Right. But that was the only credit scene. Why are people calling that the 2nd one?

The Destroyer 08-11-2014 04:10 PM

I dunno, guess some people consider the Groot/Drax thing to be a mid/post credits thing.

Miotch 08-11-2014 04:27 PM

Oh. I guess that makes sense?

The Destroyer 08-11-2014 04:30 PM

I guess. I'm only assuming anyway.

Hanso Amore 08-11-2014 04:50 PM

It happened during the credits, so yeah, credits scene

Asmo 08-12-2014 01:07 AM

My bad. Meant 'scene', typed 'spoiler'.

KIRA 08-13-2014 09:37 PM

Gotta say I like these dudes way more than the AVENGERS because they aren't the elite A-squad come to save the day they are a bunch of losers doing the best they can in a bad situation.

cardsharkrob 08-16-2014 10:26 PM

Just saw this movie yesterday and I loved it. Was hesitant with having Bautista in the movie but the way they did his lines, it turned out perfect. Only problem I had with the movie was every time Michael Rooker was on screen and talked just kept picturing his walking dead charater

Fignuts 08-16-2014 10:55 PM

Yeah, he didn't exactly play Yondu. He played a blue Micheal Rooker. He was still entertaining though, so I guess that's all that really matters.

Hanso Amore 09-08-2014 11:16 AM

Up to 586 million - the biggest Marvel 1st movie yet. This franchise is going to be huge.

Edit: This surpassed Iron Man 1 which is why I post this.

Sixx 09-08-2014 11:19 AM

Huh. So it beat Iron Man by a million.

Nice.

Hanso Amore 09-08-2014 11:19 AM

1 million and growing.

Hanso Amore 09-08-2014 11:20 AM

it will go over 600 worldwide next week.

Sixx 09-08-2014 11:24 AM

To be fair I didn't think it would get that much money. It didn't look that great after the first week, but it seems like people keep going to see it, even well after the premiere. That is good.

Hanso Amore 09-08-2014 12:01 PM

Yeah its been steady, seems like alot of word of mouth and multiple viewings

Swiss Ultimate 09-08-2014 12:16 PM

It's no Amazing Spiderman 2, but I loved it.
