Black Widow 08-15-2016 11:02 PM

They promote the women's 24 documentary after giving them 2 minutes Ha!.

Back to normal.

RP 08-15-2016 11:02 PM

Why is this match happening?

Lock Jaw 08-15-2016 11:03 PM

Totally dumb that this match is happening, but it is actually been a good match

RP 08-15-2016 11:04 PM

How many times will Roman Rains get his finishers reversed tonight?

Ruien 08-15-2016 11:04 PM

So Reigns can beat Rusev twice in one week. Instead of being like Cens having to do it monthly.

Ruien 08-15-2016 11:05 PM

this would have been good on Sunday. Dark One may get a clean finish though.

SlickyTrickyDamon 08-15-2016 11:06 PM

Rusev wins Sunday then.

RP 08-15-2016 11:06 PM

So did Rains win the US Title?

Black Widow 08-15-2016 11:06 PM

Goodnight Sucksev!

Lock Jaw 08-15-2016 11:06 PM

Reigns pinned the champion!!! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR SUNDAY NIGHT?!

Ruien 08-15-2016 11:06 PM

Lol. One spear ftw. Now how do you sell this match on Sunday? In what world can Rusev win?

Dark One 08-15-2016 11:07 PM

The more things change, the more they stay the goddamned same.

Simple Fan 08-15-2016 11:07 PM

Hell of a match, hope this means Rusev will retain at Summerslam.

owenbrown 08-15-2016 11:07 PM

this is goddamn bullshit... fuck Roman Roids

slik 08-15-2016 11:07 PM

oh for fuck's sake

Lock Jaw 08-15-2016 11:08 PM

I guess they had to give Reigns a win tonight so when Rusev beats him on Sunday, people "know" that Reigns can beat Rusev.

Ruien 08-15-2016 11:10 PM

In what world can Rusev win? He just laid into Reigns forever and couldn't get a pin but one spears beta Rusev.

Dark One 08-15-2016 11:10 PM

That's fair.

Emperor Smeat 08-15-2016 11:11 PM

Seems really dumb to have Reigns win clean right before their match at Summerslam. Then again think he's had all the upperhand moments in this feud as well.

Ruien 08-15-2016 11:12 PM

Ruses beat Reigns up backstage tonight. That is it thouGh.

evanbrown 08-15-2016 11:15 PM

THE

ROMAN

EMPIRE

IS

Roman Reigns is the greatest wrestler of all-time!

In the world of WWE where wins/losses/logic don't matter. He will probably win on Sunday after doing far less damage/punishment to Reigns.

Mr. Nerfect 08-15-2016 11:49 PM

The match happening in the first place was a bit silly. Reigns & Cesaro vs. Rusev & Sheamus would have been fine. Teased that the winner of the Best of Seven Series gets a US Title shot. Cesaro accidentally nails Reigns, Sheamus takes out Cesaro and Rusev pins Reigns in order to build heat for SummerSlam.

Mr. Nerfect 08-15-2016 11:50 PM

I'm actually hoping that Reigns does win the US Title at SummerSlam. Rusev is so entertaining, he really doesn't need that anchor of a belt. Reigns winning it would at least be intriguing in the sense that it's not the top belt, so the Roman Reigns experiment can continue away from the main event scene. He can have great matches and do great work and earn some stripes before getting another shot near the top. He'd also be the first member of his family to win the US Title, wouldn't he? I eventually want to see Reigns vs. Cesaro.

Simple Fan 08-15-2016 11:59 PM

Peter Maivia and Rocky Johnson were both NWA United States Heavyweight Champions(San Francisco version) in NWA San Francisco according to Wikipedia. Not really family though.

Mr. Nerfect 08-15-2016 11:59 PM

You know what would be really sick? Is if the Best of Seven Series between Sheamus and Cesaro is for the right to be Shinsuke Nakamura's first opponent in the WWE. Cesaro vs. Nakamura at Survivor Series? Yes, please.

EDIT: Well, have Cesaro win the Best of Seven Series and become #1 Contender for the US Title, and Sheamus' consolation prize is to face Nakamura. Cesaro vs. Reigns for the US Title and Sheamus vs. Nakamura at a RAW PPV would be tremendous.

I don't think that is part of the canonical WWE US Title history though, is it?

Emperor Smeat 08-16-2016 12:42 AM

Not according to the reigns list on Wikipedia. WWE only counts the Mid-Atlantic version of the belt for its official lineage.

SlickyTrickyDamon 08-16-2016 01:41 AM

Madusa, Scott Steiner, Taz, Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle. I asked Mr. Heyman on the Twitter Machine for the complete list.

Lock Jaw 08-16-2016 01:56 AM

How is that a complete list..... that is only five.....

Tom Guycott 08-16-2016 02:51 AM

Maybe some of those had multiple, non-consecutive terms.

Tom Guycott 08-16-2016 02:55 AM

Also, that pic of 'Taker with a cane makes me kinda wanna see him as a manager. Or, at least get a mentor role for some younger talent who can't quite get it done yet on the stick (Baron, for example). Maybe start calling young guys "pencil neck geeks".

Mr. Nerfect 08-16-2016 05:10 AM

Man, Angry Old Man Taker as a manager would be tremendous.

I asked Paul to confirm 5 and add 3.

Gran Torino 'Taker. Takes a young, nondescript, Asian (so, no Shinskue, KENTA, or anyone else mildly over stateside) talent under his wing, with all the uncouth, racist, tough-love in the world. Lets the kid use the "You're Gonna Pay" instrumental theme and ride his motorcycle (in lieu of a car proxy) down to the ring.

I still say Tully was one, elected via Slingshot Suplex, and ousted from office for nose candy. Can't believe I didn't even think of the obvious in Taz.
