Interesting that Cody lost the TNT Championship…

Another weird Cody promo. He definitely seems to “want” to stay, but factors are obviously holding back that agreement. If Cody’s stuff is worth reading into, he definitely makes it a point to mention Arn’s been with him his entire career. Is that an emotional point because Cody is thinking about leaving him in AEW, or is it some sort of veiled insinuation that if Cody leaves he’ll be taking Arn with him?

It’s also interesting he makes a point about the ratings growing — which they haven’t. If Cody feels like his business ideas, creative plans, talent choices, etc. being ignored are what has held the company back, or that he deserves CM Punk money when shows built around him do just as well, then that could very much be the cause of the hold-up.

Not overly familiar with Danhausen but it seems like one of those deals that people like with a huge pinch of “irony”. If that is the case - and the description above suggests that it is - it’s not going to help the optics with the “casual audience”/“anti-AEW audience”. I think a programme with Cole could seen as “wasting Cole”. Again, I’m not familiar with the whole deal.

i love danhausen with absolutely no hint of irony, but it's definitely going to be interesting to see how his presence plays out in AEW.

on the surface, it's certainly an indie-riffic gimmick, or at least one that's better suited to a smaller, niche audience. but he does it with such conviction, seems to live the gimmick in a lot of ways, and that definitely translates to a lot of people. will it translate to a weekly AEW audience? i sure hope so, but i can certainly see how it might not.

danhausen also seems like a "wrestler's wrestler," as all of the other workers love him. that doesn't really matter as far as this discussion, but i love it nonetheless.

Two wrongs don’t make a right? Going back to back in programmes with “comedy gimmicks” is more evidence for the “prosecution” if anything.

Adam Cole is a walking comedy gimmick

It's more off-putting to me to have a guy like Cole treated like a big deal. A guy who is like 5'8 and weighs 160lbs dripping wet. He's basically a rugged pokemon evolution of Marko Stunt. I find him entertaining as hell but I could not take him serious.

I love how his listed stats online put him at like 6' maybe 6'1" and somewhere from 200-220lbs. LOL in what world do they think anyone is falling for that? I'm 6' 215lbs and I was HUGE compared to him the one time I saw him in person. If he's that size it's while he has 4 inch lifts in his boots and is lifting weights on the scale.

Should note that Cole having like zero muscle mass is a big part of why I don't buy him as serious. He'd be a lot more believable at his size if he was ripped in any way. As he is, all you gotta do is throw a denim vest with the arms ripped off and a trucker hat on him and he'll look just like every other random meth head loitering at the country store here.

trent vs cole really highlighted both how ripped trent is and how doughy cole is.

The Gunn Club being unofficially renamed “The Ass Boys” is pretty great, you guys.

Only one character less than “corporate cocksnogger”. I wonder if I could get Corporate CockSnoggerHausen.

Although I don’t actually really know anything about this Danhausen, who doesn’t love a trend.

Cody (along with Moxley) is comfortably one of the most legit guys they have. Know nothing about any backstage stuff or anything like that, so no idea why he gets booed nowadays. Everything I’ve seen him do has been great, except for the Ogogo feud which was shite.

Don’t particularly like Sammy Guevara, he’s completely void of character except for apparently banging Tay Conti based on her Instagram. He never should’ve beaten Miro (unless he’s injured or something and that’s why he’s not around), and this entire feud should’ve been Miro vs Cody instead.

Very bored of those 2.0 guys, really bland. Handful of other teams that could be getting used to lose to all the big names every week. Butcher and The Blade should be getting that spotlight instead (and away from Matt Hardy).

Punk and MJF as a whole is great. Wardlow face turn tease is a very good side plot too. Thought for sure he was going to refuse to powerbomb punk. Hope MJF wins the match and the feud.

Shite womens match, they’ve got like 7-8 really good brauds, but they showcase their female junior division instead. Weird.

Speaking of their junior division, Adam Cole is another one I don’t particularly like. He should be someone’s manager until he puts on about 5 stone of muscle.

The Ass Boys should 100% be the ones in the role 2.0 have played for like the last 3 months.

Totally agree with all this. Cole really needs some muscle on him and then he can actually be the main eventer that they want him to be but he needs to gain size.
