Jordan with some EXCELLENT posts in here. It’s important to keep in mind what NXT was and the audience Triple H was going for versus the prerogatives of the main WWE roster. There are people thinking the Austin Theory push might disappear, or that Roman won’t be the featured star. Come on now.

But Triple H has got the energy and maybe the desire to let wrestlers talk more organically. Commentators might be allowed to commentate more freely. Certain words may not be banned anymore. Talent might find places that are specifically carved for them if he really likes, as opposed to them not fitting into the gentrified WWE at all. He might choose to put energy into making the shows feel lively for a little while, at least to get himself over in the position before everything feels like it’s painted with the same brush.

It won’t be big, jarring changes. It’ll be little things that were surprisingly big entry blockers. And that will neutralize the perceived uniqueness of AEW for a lot of people. In my opinion, AEW is already not good enough to be acting like they’re heads and tails better than WWE. If WWE gets better? Yikes.

There’s so much to consider. Triple H might even be driven to work with New Japan and/or even AEW. We’ll just have to wait and see.

This Raw in MSG might be the most interesting one in quite some time.

RP 07-25-2022 02:11 PM

I uh.. What

slik 07-25-2022 02:16 PM

CNBC mentioning WWE several times today, saying this is all Bullish for a sale in the future

RP 07-25-2022 02:22 PM

I assume Jason Jordan can't wrestle anymore Nerfect?

Vince’s revenge: selling the company and ousting Steph/HHH.

I know you’re joking, but Vince is richer today than he was yesterday. But hey, I would expect him to offload some shares in the near future. Maybe to Triple H and Stephanie, but also maybe to someone like The Rock.

I want to point out of the craziest bits of Vince McMahon's legacy:

He got 2 separate eggs over.

One of the big draws from the '90 Survivor Series was the Giant Egg. Folks had to have bought that show just to see what was going to pop out of it. And the outcome was... yeah.

Now, if Theory ends up with the top titles at Summerslam, it will cap off a rise that started when he stole the Egg from Red Notice.

xrodmuc316 07-26-2022 12:15 AM

Vince forced to retire.
The very next business day he makes $145 million.
That is $145 million more than Tiny Khan has EVER made from AEW.
Tiny Khan is a SUPER SMART BUSINESSMAN!

Mr. Nerfect 07-26-2022 03:52 AM

What would draw more: an egg that comes out of a box or a box that hatches from an egg?

Sepholio 07-26-2022 03:55 AM

The second one seems a bit more eccentric and thus would probably draw slightly more if for no other reason than morbid curiosity.

Sepholio 07-26-2022 03:56 AM

I feel like the contents of the box hatching from the egg would also have an impact on any potential draw.

Mr. Nerfect 07-26-2022 05:56 AM

That’s thinking outside the box, Seph.

Mr. Nerfect 07-26-2022 12:32 PM

According to the Wall Street Journal, Vince McMahon is under investigation from the SEC and is potentially facing federal prosecution again.

IC Champion 07-26-2022 12:43 PM

Well that would be a shame if someone who once covered up a murder went to jail for financial malpractice lol.

drave 07-26-2022 01:03 PM

Think Vince would actually do hard time, or would he Epstein himself?

#1-norm-fan 07-26-2022 01:08 PM

He’d claim he’s in there by choice.

IC Champion 07-26-2022 01:23 PM

Probably end up in a country club prison, unless some sinister crimes are uncovered that aren’t financial.

You have a strange interpretation of the word “over”.

xrodmuc316 07-27-2022 12:15 AM

This is great, wait until he gets to Natalya

Take that karma you old bastard…I haven’t forgot about survivor series 1997

Mr. Nerfect 07-27-2022 09:57 PM

With the new regime, I wonder if there is nostalgia within the office for some WWE crossover shows with major Japanese promotions that will be capitalized on. A WWE/New Japan show would be pretty epic.

That was the reaction of a woman who hasn’t thought much about the man she’s legally married to in a while and didn’t prepare for questions about him.

… and also didn’t consider that she’s still best known as “Mrs. Vince McMahon” and should always assume that’s why anyone wants to speak to her.

screech 07-29-2022 06:03 PM

They've definitely been "separated" for years, right?

#1-norm-fan 07-29-2022 06:07 PM

Lol That definitely wasn’t a political “damage control” reaction. That was a political “fuck that guy, I got my own shit going on” reaction.

slik 07-29-2022 08:12 PM

Meltzer answered a question on WO's live broadcast about if Tony Khan would be willing to mentor Stephanie if asked, since he's had more experience running a wrestling company than Stephanie and Meltzer said he believes Tony Khan would be happy to mentor Stephanie if asked.

Someone told me they haven't even lived in the same house for over a decade and they've basically been married for tax break purposes for a long time.

What advice could Tiny possibly give, ask your daddy for money? Steph already knows that

I believe he is fried enough to believe his own shit on that one. Dude says absolutely ludicrous things when it comes to AEW.

John Laurinitus fired from WWE per PWInsider

Is this simply a result of his part in the scandal or has housecleaning begun??

Kevin Dunn being next would be excellent. His firing would single-handedly get me to tune into the next Raw just to see if there's no longer a disgusting amount of camera cuts.
