Plax is good, not a number 1 reciever though

MoRcHeEbA 03-18-2005 11:10 AM

yeah good for the giants but they still need an O-line, D-line, Secondary, Outside linebackers... then they will be good.

*sigh*

The O-Line needs a dash of improvement. Our defensive line is pretty solid barring any huge injuries. Our outside linebackers our actually pretty good if not decent enough to get the job done.

We have quite possibly one of the most underated cover corners in the league in Willy P and another pretty good guy in Will Allen. Our FS is a weak spot but we have Gibril Wilson and Shaun Williams both returning to 100%. Gibril is going to be a playmaker in this league.

SO HAVE IT MORCHEEBA.

Nervous Ferret 03-18-2005 04:42 PM

nawww You really need an offensive line though. Are you switching McKenzie to weakside or what

OssMan 03-18-2005 07:16 PM

Cant really say anything about their defensive line just yet...they released Norman Hand and Keith Washington both starters and signed Kendrick clancy so i dont know. plus Pierce will add a lot to the defense i guess, and i think the secondary can survive.

Evil Vito 03-18-2005 10:06 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Yeah the Giants D really isn't all that bad.

Their secondary shouldn't be too bad, with Allen and Peterson at the corners and Williams/Wilson in safety.

Linebackers are pretty good too, with Pierce, Emmons, and Green (possibly even Greisen).

D-Line is probably the worst part, but even that's not horrible. Obviously Strahan is always great, and Umenyiora showed some serious improvement last year. I can't say I know much of Kendrick Clancy, but I'm sure he'll do well, and as for the other DT slot (unless they decide to switch to 3-4 which I don't see happeneing), I heard they might be signing Chris Hovan.</font>

OssMan 03-18-2005 11:36 PM

Kendrick Clancy is an 86 in Madden

AlphaBean 03-19-2005 07:07 AM

I want to introduce you guys to the 2001 Buffalo Bills defense.

I don't care how good he is, adding depth to the MLB spot for the Vikings is only more reason why we will be balanced as fuck next year and will be the best team in the league.

NO.

The Outlaw 03-19-2005 09:56 PM

lol

Don't worry, he says that every year.

Nervous Ferret 03-19-2005 10:01 PM

Now that you've got me thinking I guess I'll pick who I think will be the best team in each division next year:

AFC East: Pats of course, but hopefully the JETS will make a run and at least get a wild card
AFC North: Steelers
AFC South: Colts but pressure from surprise team HOUSTON TEXANs
AFC WEST: Dever

NFC East: Eagles
NFC North: Lions!
NFC South: Falcons
NFC West: ummm.. Seahawks by default

On paper, every year, we should be fucking amazing.

We had the talent last year, without the coaching.

This year, we have more talent...

With even less coaching.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 03-20-2005 03:06 AM

Burress will help improve the Giants obviously, but hes not all that. He wasnt even the best WR on the Steelers.

BCWWF 03-20-2005 03:13 AM

Nervous Ferrett you are just retarded, on a team that had probably the worst linebacking in the league, you get a former first round draft pick to play MLB and then get a solid veteran to help him out its an improvement, and our secondary should be one of the best in the league and we have a pretty good d-line. Add Derrick Johnson from Texas with the seventh round draft pick, one of the best quarterbacks in the league, two solid wide recievers and three running backs who could have 1000 yard seasons individually with a good o-line and you have a very solid overall team.

Like Bean said, on paper we have a very good team, and right now is paper season, quit bitching about what I said last year because thats the way it looked and I am not the only one who thought so.

The fact of the matter is, the Vikings are going to be FUCKING SICK on Madden next year, and that's what's important.

Pep better be 99, for sure. The HBs will be underrated, but maybe this time Dixon is gonna get some love despite his age. Wiggins will get love, Kleinsasser won't be on IR, Burleson better fucking be over 90. Hopefully Braylon Edwards becomes a Vike and has +95 speed, that will make our offense PERFECT in Madden.

Then that defense. OMG OMG OMG. After preseason and mini camp, Darrion Scott should be pretty good, then  the perfect defense.

AlphaBean 03-20-2005 10:56 AM

Or pick up Marcellus Wiley if he's not signed by then. :shifty:

Y2Ant 03-20-2005 02:06 PM

I am so pumped for the draft and for next season now with all these signings, even though we are only mad good on paper :(

Sam Cowart :o

I thought Napoleon Harris was a MLB, I dunno who is gonna play where in the linebackers now.

OssMan 03-20-2005 02:23 PM

The Redskins had a great team on paper but look at them

MoRcHeEbA 03-20-2005 03:23 PM

they had a good team on paper minus a QB which made their team suck balls

AlphaBean 03-20-2005 03:59 PM

like half of an offensive line, a home run HB in a ball control system with no Tight End, a rookie safety and a nobody at the other safety... um, one defensive lineman?

Redskins are a shit paper team. Good linebackers, a couple good OL, an elite HB and two pretty good underachieving WRs.

Too bad about Sean Taylor. I  him but he was a rookie in a very tough position.

The Outlaw 03-20-2005 07:03 PM

lol "on paper"

New England isn't that awesome on paper but look at them. STFU before I destroy you.

AlphaBean 03-20-2005 07:38 PM

No on paper, the eagles have a very solid team. But there are teams that are better, Minnesota being one of them. On paper. Which is to say, talent-wise, with the right coach, these teams could rank among the best of all time.

Belicheck, with his staff in tact, coaching one of these "marquee" teams on paper, would probably win every game 80-3. Nobody is saying paper counts for anything, but that's all we have right now -- if the players all play to the best of their ability, and stay healthy, then on paper, the chances are good. For now.

And most importantly -- on madden.

Not Brock Lesnar! Hes a 69.

Evil Vito 03-21-2005 06:24 AM

<font color=goldenrod>I wish Brock was in my game. :(

I also wish that they'd make it possible to accurately update the rosters without having to download them. Fucking "Minimum Team Requirements"</font> :foc:

#1-norm-fan 03-23-2005 12:48 AM

Some of the opening weekend games have been announced.

The Thursday Night opener will be Oakland @ New England.

On Sunday, Fox's main game will be Dallas  @ San Diego

ESPN's Sunday nighter is Indy @ Baltimore *ORASMS*

And then on the first monday night game of the season, Philly @ Atlanta

We haven't even had the draft yet and I am going crazy for these games.

Nervous Ferret 03-23-2005 12:50 AM

i know...

AlphaBean 03-23-2005 01:29 AM

Hey speaking of Madden, can you niggas tell me HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO BOOST A D-LINEMAN'S STATS?

I can dominate with any player with speed. I can put a HB in on goalline, and throw short slants to any receiver or tight end with any QB. I put Brock in at offensive lineman for over half the game in the playoffs, rushed for 200 yards behind him, and he didn't go up at all.

He was rated 19 as a guard.

HOW DO I BOOST BROCK. He sucks and I can't change that.
