The Miz 06-20-2005 09:55 PM

Red Sox
Angels
White Sox
Twins

The Rangers have no chance, even in that crappy division. Past Rogers & Young their pitching is a joke

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-20-2005 10:40 PM

Veriteks block at the plate the other night was fucking sweet

BCWWF 06-20-2005 11:01 PM

I too think it's a little early to call Kenny Rogers a Cy Young candidate. He started similar to this last year as well.

Also, I assume the playoffs looks like what Miz had, but it would be so random if it were the four I posted. No Sox, no Yanks, no Angels.

YOUR Hero 06-20-2005 11:08 PM

One difference between Rogers stats this year and last is his ERA. He does tend to fade in the second half, but you can't assume he will, not with the way he's been pitching this year over the previous years.

BCWWF 06-20-2005 11:11 PM

I hope Halladay and Pedro win the Cy's, but its still pretty early so anything can happen.

SammyG 06-20-2005 11:17 PM

God damn Dodgers

The Miz 06-20-2005 11:22 PM

Hey where is that guy who said the Mets were gonna win the East, does he want me to laugh in his face now or save it for end of the season

Dragon 06-22-2005 10:40 PM

The Yankees have come back from a 10-2 deficit and have made it 20-11 now.

Pretty ridiculous, so many home runs are being hit right now. I almost feel bad for this pitcher the Devil Rays have in right now, he just gave up 13 runs in the eighth inning.

The Miz 06-22-2005 11:01 PM

lol Why didn't they pull him

Loose Cannon 06-22-2005 11:03 PM

experience

Loose Cannon 06-22-2005 11:03 PM

he sure got an experience

They shoulda brought in some position player who was on the bench, what's the worst that could happen

Adder 06-23-2005 10:51 AM

Pinnella wants out of TBay, he won't quit so I think he's working on getting fired.

Kansas City is somehow real hot since they got the new manager.

Anyway, Pinella should be let out of Tampa Bay. They should either move the team or else move Crawford and Pinella out of there so they can matter on a real team.

Nice Yanks lost to the D-Backs. Red Sox won

The Miz 06-23-2005 10:47 PM

Kenny Rogers just gave up 4 runs on 5 hits in the 1st inning against the Angels

Bye bye Rangers

MVP 06-23-2005 11:54 PM

Supposedly Eric Gagne won't be back until next year's All-Star game.

The Miz 06-24-2005 12:00 AM

Another Cy Young caliber pitcher ruined by the Dodgers staff. AWESOME

SammyG 06-24-2005 02:19 AM

:( :'( Damnit. Well, im glad the dodgers finally broke their losing streak tonight, but its gonna be tough without Gagne..

RoXer 06-24-2005 03:17 PM

Kotsay could be dealt. Rumors are to the Yankees or Cubs.

BCWWF 06-24-2005 04:09 PM

Yeah I've heard the Yankees getting Kotsay rumor

What pissed me off, on talk radio the other day they mentioned something that I never thought of. The Twins probably could have traded Kyle Lohse for Placido Polanco, which would have given us a legit No. 2 hitter with good defense. He is like exactly who we needed. We either need a 2B, SS, or 3B who can hit, because if Morneau is going to be a dumbass we aren't going to come back in the central.

If the A's deal Kotsay to the Yanks they are pussies. All they are offering is 2 prospects, a guy who's hitting .230 in AA and an 18-year-old pitcher who is tearing up A. These guys could be huge busts, and the A's have enough prospects, they need major leaguers who are ready to play today, not in 2007 or 2008. Not worth trading their best player and one of the best defensive CF's in the last 5 years.

BCWWF 06-24-2005 07:38 PM

I agree, the other part is that I think Kotsay would be a really good addition for the Yankees, really help them a lot. With that said, I also thought that this years Yankees team would be the best since...maybe 98? Whichever one of those teams was the best.

BCWWF 06-24-2005 07:41 PM

This leads into another thing. The Oakland Athletics are really pretty big dumbshits when it all comes down to it. The reason they would be trading Kotsay is because he is a free agent after the year (or maybe he has one more year or something, but pretty sure this year). That is the reason that they can never be amazing, they run the same type of program as the Twins but they are too retarded to keep the good players. Why would you just wait until Miguel Tajada and Jason Giambi become free agents to resign them? The Twins made sure to get Torii Hunter and Johan Santana resigned before they became free agents, so they were still in our range. The A's could be the best team in baseball right now if they learned to resign their players before they became free agents.

The Miz 06-24-2005 11:06 PM

What the hell are you talking about? Tejada did not want an extension. He made it clear from quite some time that 2003 would be his last season in Oakland, regardless of what they offered him.

I agree about Kotsay though, he wants 3 years $27 million, I'd give it to him.

BCWWF 06-25-2005 12:25 AM

Come on. Jason Giambi was one of the best players in baseball when he was in Oakland. Developing great prospects can only get you so far, you have to keep the core guys if you ever want to win. Now the A's are set up to have a great group of prospects come up again, but by the time they get there the veterans will be gone. Starting with Kotsay, then Zito, just judging by history I would have to assume Chavez's time is limited. They just have to do something to keep their guys unless they just want to stay a farm team for the rest of the MLB.

RoXer 06-25-2005 12:35 AM

Chavez is locked up with a 7 year deal. I believe.

BCWWF 06-25-2005 12:38 AM

At least they got it right with one guy. But you can't be successful without keeping your guys.

RoXer 06-25-2005 12:40 AM

Yeah. I have a rant and rave about how they run the organization. But I'm sick of defending them every fuck time they do something like this. If they trade Kotsay, my head will be raw from the scratching.

BCWWF 06-25-2005 12:59 AM

I just wrote another rant about how the Twins keep good players and let the shit get huge contracts elsewhere, but I erased it so you wouldn't all hate me.

OssMan 06-27-2005 06:52 PM

went to the nationals game yesterday and gonna go to a Cubs or Sox game next week wooo

The Miz 06-27-2005 09:19 PM

Watch out for the ground crew's hose

YOUR Hero 06-27-2005 09:51 PM

Considering the Yankees need a CF, I would expect the A's could garner more than what's being discussed.

The Miz 06-27-2005 10:04 PM

The Yankees have a shitty farm system. They are offering their best 2 prospects for Kotsay. Duncan is Adam Dunn part 2 and will be in the majors next year with someone, and Hughes is an 18-year old with a history of injuries but dominated A-ball. The Yankees have no prospects to offer past these 2, and there is no one on the MLB team who the A's want because they are all old, slow, and overpaid. The A's are set in the infield for the next 5 years with Chavez, Crosby, Scutaro, and Johnson. They do however need outfielders and Matsui, Sheffield, and Williams are not going anywhere and the A's wouldn't want them anyway.

I don't see the A's shipping Kotsay at the deadline unless it is 100% that the A's cannot resign him. If they trade him, they can forget about being the AL west favorites in 2006. Eric Chavez has proven he cannot lead a team and Bobby Crosby is not Miguel Tejada; yet. Kotsay is "the guy" in Oakland, period.

If the Mariners were smart they would try to ship Randy Winn for pitching (Wang, Stanton, i dunno) because Jeremy Reed > your mother. Winn is not a long term solution but they'll get a hell of a lot more production out of him than Bernie Washup and Tony Womack.

YOUR Hero 06-27-2005 10:38 PM

Oakland can ask for Wang as well, don't you see.

The Miz 06-27-2005 10:40 PM

The Yankees have said they are not going to trade their young guys, Wang and Cano. Nobody wants their old guys. Whoops.
