Point taken but they definitely set themselves up so that they had an out for almost each death (real or metaphorical).

His English wasn't even that broken in the comics, so I ain't complaining. :D

Interesting...is this why everyone was mentioning Josh Holloway for Gambit?
From IMDB:

# Josh Holloway was offered the role of Gambit, but turned it down because the character was too similar to his character on "Lost" (2004). As a result, the character was never added to the film since this would have been a special cameo put in later had Josh decided to sign on.

McDoogle 05-31-2006 06:03 PM

Awsome movie but im curious about the story they used to not include nightcrawler? Did anyone complete the game and find out?

loopydate 05-31-2006 06:12 PM

I haven't finished it, but fairly early, he talks about being uncomfortable with having to be violent, since he's so deeply religious.

That's bullshit. He's always been a swashbuckler at heart.

Not in the movies.

Loose Cannon 06-01-2006 09:34 AM

Saw it last night. I usually don't like to rant about movies cause I usually enjoy what I see in theaters, but this one just frustrated me a litte. I liked the battle scenes and the Phoenix character, but for a final movie, it just seemed slow and not as good as the first 2.

Killing of Cyclops was a wtf moment right of the bat. It wasn't even a good death scene. He's been one of the main guys since the first two movies and he's killed just like that. I seriously thought he was going to be behind the door when the X-men were going to the blackbird getting ready for the final battle.

I didn't know a couple of the main heel characters because they never said their names. I guess if you've read the comics and watched the cartoon, you would get it, but if you're just a casual fan, you wouldn't of known who they were. (Mostly Callisto's gang). Unless I missed the part where they said thier names.

Angel did absolutely nothing but annoy me.

I thought I saw Leech or Toad crawling around in the Morlock hideout. Who was that?

The way Juggernaut was killed off or whatever was pretty ridiculous. I wanted to see Collusus take him out.

Ice man vs Pyro was probably my favorite part because they built that up since movie two and you were just waiting for it. It was like HHH/Rock Summerslam 98.

Was Multiple Man ever with Magneto in the comics? Actually, was thier anybody in this movie that was in the Brotherhood in the comics? I know Pyro was.

But yea. Ok film. Seemed like it was rushed to end the series, but had it's awesome moments. This is the movie that probably pissed off a lot of comic readers more then the other 2.

Well I hope they think about making a 4th. We need Apocalypse.

You didn't need to. They were largely inconsequential. If you're a casual fan, you probably don't need to know every mutant in there. Many of them were put in as Easter Egg characters.

He's a useless character, what did you expect?

Does it really matter? A lot of the "Brotherhood" in this movie weren't even villains, let alone in the Brotherhood. So who cares? Why is he, of all the people in the movie, such a big deal?

Alan Cumming apparently didn't want to go through the makeup process again for what was apparently going to be a very minor role, so he decided not to come back.

Not Toad, basically. Just some nameless mutant with similar powers who ended up getting depowered during the attack on Worthington Labs.

Impact! 06-03-2006 06:37 AM

Which is a shame, because Toad is the man.

I saw it again last night and enjoyed it alot more which was preety surprising to me

Fignuts 06-04-2006 12:51 PM

You really can't expect a lot of action scenes with colossus and angel, considering the costs it takes to provide such scenes. That said, I'm dissapointed that colossus and juggernaut didn't mix it up. I thought that was a no-brainer.

I agree that the movie was too short. They tried to fit so much in that time frame and it ended up a bit messy. Definitly didn't have the flow of the first two.

I expect we won't see x4 until the two spin-offs have come out. When x4 eventually does arrive I'm hoping for Apocalypse.

Finally, it should be noted that we never actually see cyclops die.

Fignuts 06-04-2006 12:56 PM

What I want to know is why they didn't bring back Sbretooth and toad for this. It would have been the perfect time to do so. And it's not like Ray Park and Tyler Mane are a-list stars. Hell they're not even c-list. Park is primarily a stuntman, ffs.

YOUR Hero 06-04-2006 01:33 PM

Toad was killed. :?:

SabreTooth, yes.

Actually, the cost of computer animation is such these days that it's probably cheaper to do someone like Angel than most of the folks in the movie.

Toad was electrocuted and dropped into the water. For a Superhero movie, where they can get thrown into solid stone and steel and be unharmed, where several characters are hit by lighting/lasers/zero point energy or bitch slapped by guys who can fuck up Mac Trucks, is this really an end automatically?

I don't think you could consider toad dead. He was launched into a lake. That really means nothing in the world of x-men. Comic or otherwise.

Impact! 06-05-2006 02:37 AM

And as mentioned earlier Toad is the man.

el fregadero 06-05-2006 02:49 AM

Plus his name is Toad, so he knows his way around the water.

Kane Knight 06-05-2006 11:36 AM

And he knows how to survive a lightningh bolt.

However, he will die in X-4 when Magneto washes his clothes without taking him out of his pocket.
Mutant Washing machines are dangerous.

loopydate 06-05-2006 05:56 PM

Do you know what happens to a Toad when it's run through the laundry?

You have to buy new pants.

Actually, Alan had it on his website for awhile that he was ready and eager to get to work on the next movie. He signed a contract to appear in two films, they simply decided to axe Nightcrawler from the script this go around.

Of course, I think it was because they were trying this whole "Matrix mass mediam" thing. Ya know, when they had the movie, the Animatrix, and the game all come out around the same time, and they all fed into each other? Kind of like how the X3 game is supposed to explain why Nightcrawler isn't in the movie.

Wouldn't we have seen a few of these by now then? Animatrix and other offshoots came rapidly after Matrix 2. Did they decide to do this long enough back to put it in a video game, but NOT put anything else out?

El Fangel 06-15-2006 11:58 AM

Me and my friends have a debate going
1) Is Juggernaut dead? Because you don't see him die, or see him after He knocks himself out
2) Where is Sabretooth? He feel off the statue onto the boat, and I seriously doubt that killed him.

El Fangel 06-15-2006 12:01 PM

Sadly they cannot have an Apocalypse story in the movie thats true to the comics, since Jean and Scott are dead, so Cable can't be born. Eh?

Also really besides Wolverine and Storm who is left for the main role, since Jean and Scott are dead and so is the Professor?

and what aboot the coolest non-mutant (Juggernaut) ,why was he a mutant.
that part of the movie I found so annoying because Juggernaut is my fav mutant, and he didn't look, act, or seem at all like Juggernaut.
And why did he have an Austrailian Accent?
