Jon Kano 04-17-2007 10:41 PM

I just read that Desmond allows an 'unlikely nemesis' to help out a stranger to the Island. I'm guessing the stranger is the new girl they are bringing in from the outside world, the nemesis? Maybe Mikhail survived the fence?

Avenger 04-18-2007 12:10 AM

Should be pretty interesting episode 19.

Boondock Saint 04-18-2007 12:41 AM

Also, for those who know/read comics: tonights episode, 'Catch-22' is written by Brian K. Vaughn (Y: The Last Man, Ex Machina, Runaways, Pride of Baghdad). Looking forward to it.

OH MY FUCKING GOD!

I'll be back at the end of the show.

What, the Charlie thing? You had to know that was a flash forward.

Blitz 04-18-2007 10:10 PM

Man, Kate might be an annoying character, but she sure looks good in underwear.

I knew that. That scene made me jump out of my chair.

ClockShot 04-18-2007 10:54 PM

Rosario Dawson drops in? I didn't catch the credits. But talk about your angel from above.

John Locke. Where you at?

Yeah, Ben says "See you in a week." See him next week I guess?

Nah, don't think so. Remember, each episode usually only encapsulates a day or 2 on the island. So I wouldn't expect to see the Others again until at least the season finale.

RBM 04-18-2007 11:31 PM

Sawyer mentioned Bernard. I wonder if we'll actually see Rose and Bernard at all this season. Maybe during the season finale.

Anyways, good ep.

wwe2222 04-18-2007 11:47 PM

everyone catch the jewelery store lady in the picture on the monks desk?

Reavant 04-19-2007 12:31 AM

if thats true, you are one observant mother fucker

Boondock Saint 04-19-2007 01:11 AM

Yeah I caught that. Picture looked pretty superimposed. Good ep. Desmond = ratings. Kate almost naked = :y: Everything else dealing with Kate = :n:

LaLa 04-19-2007 05:14 PM

I'm excited for next weeks episode, I wonder who that woman is and what will happen to Sun? I think Sun will kidnapped by the others when they invade so that they can study her.

Avenger 04-20-2007 12:55 PM

Great episode. Who the fuck was that at the end?

Jon Kano 04-22-2007 11:47 PM

OK so I was told that if you watch the Pilot episode, you can see the smoke monster fly past the turbine. You can get the clip and it in slow motion on YouTube and it blatantly is!!!!!

In the real footage it looks like it 'could just be' a piece of debris, but even in the slow version, its a figure that doesn't simply fly past from the course of an explosion, it swoops down then up as if it is controlling where it goes. Here is a gif with the colours altered to it can be seen better.

Maybe Desmond didn't bring the plane down, maybe it was the monster?

Impact! 04-22-2007 11:56 PM

Even if it's not true, that looks pretty cool

Jon Kano 04-23-2007 12:09 AM

I love the smoke monster. I LITERALLY LOVE IT.

LaLa 04-23-2007 12:14 AM

I don't know that doesn't look like the smoke monster, it just looks like a shadow.

Jon Kano 04-23-2007 12:20 AM

What? A shadow that can not only fly through the air but descend to the ground, pass a turbine and cause it to explode, then ascend back up the the sky. Thats some fucking shadow.

It looks a bit off because the colours have been altered for every cell of the animation so the flying object can be seen better. In the real footage its more darker.

The question still remains, if its not the smoke monster, what is it? It doesn't have a random trajectory. It goes down, then up and causes the turbine to explode. Its gotta be the monster.

Dave Youell 04-23-2007 04:48 AM

Has anyone re-watched the first ep to make sure that's not been messed with, as it wouldn't be too tough to animate that on the scene.

Until someone can confirm it, I'm calling it bullshit

Blitz 04-23-2007 04:51 AM

That shadow looks way too crappy and way too easy to see to be the smoke monster.

Not saying it's not real, but if it is, it's a pretty shoddy effect.

Impact! 04-23-2007 05:03 AM

I'll check it out now

Impact! 04-23-2007 05:06 AM

Sweet jesus it's there

Mr Regal 04-23-2007 08:11 AM

Interesting!

That episode was pretty good, and i also spotted the old lady in th photo on the Monks desk....interesting, very interesting.

Desmond was a monk! It would have been better if he turned out to be a rabid hulkamaniac, hence calling everyone Brother.

didnt the engin explode cuz some dumb ass let himself get sucked into it?

Impact! 04-23-2007 10:14 AM

Yeah, but you see the cloud fly over as i explodes, I dont think the dude being sucked in would have exploded it

Avenger 04-23-2007 12:43 PM

Interesting

im pretty sure the producers have stated the monster makes no physical appearance in the pilot episode...and it was due to bad special effects

For the third fucking time. THE COLOURS HAVE BEEN CHANGED. The actual footage, the figure of smoke/shade, its harder to see.

Yeah I heard they also put dildos in the jungle randomly while shooting. Anyone can say shit like that fella. Put up a link.

RoXer 04-23-2007 08:17 PM

I was 100% sure that that chick at the end was Sanjaya

RoXer 04-23-2007 08:19 PM

And yeah, the smoke monster in the pilot has been talked about before we even knew that it was a smoke monster.

nice response douchebag...

yeah im really trying to trick you by making that up

I read that months ago, I dont remember where the hell it was from

wwe2222 04-23-2007 10:15 PM

here...this is one link I found that mentions it

Jon Kano 04-23-2007 11:23 PM

See how hard was that?

Again, its not that conclusive. Unless I see it on the Fuselage or something, or the episode that concludes otherwise, its all fanbased theory.

I just think the excuse 'an effect gone wrong' is false, since so much money, time and talent goes into the show, they wouldn't include it if they were not happy with it or what it would resonate in the future.

Like I said, its a controlled entity, a piece of debris wouldn;t fly/fall like that.

Do not bring your aggressive whiney ass shit into this thread. It's the on reasonable thread without it.
