Notice the word potential Joey:p

I think the Twins would do more in the postseason than Chicago as things stand, but there's a month to go so who knows, I can't see Detroit going all the way this time, I reckon it'll be between the WC and East winners when it comes down to it, assuming Detroit do win the Central. Although the A's are on a tear right now, 22 of 28 or something, they might finally do what they've been threatening to for a decade...

Fucking Sox lost last night 6-0, pretty shitty defense mixed with no offense at all usually equals a "L"

Loose Cannon 08-26-2006 04:48 PM

Zito with 100. 4th A's pitcher to do so. :y:

YOUR Hero 08-26-2006 05:30 PM

Lots of time left for the Jays to win this game, but come on!

Red Sox pitching gives up a HR to Beltre. Pretty much sums up how poor our pitching is right now.

Nick Punto.

The Twins are playing White Sox of '05 ball right now. We are winning the close games and just getting all the breaks. This series definately isn't going to set the wildcard, I think it will come down to the last week, but if the Twins continue to play at this pace, even without Liriano, I think the Twins would be the best bet. Garza will only get better win more starts, as long as Radke doesn't break something he is very solid, and the bullpen is probably the best in baseball right now. Also, the batting order is good 1-9 right now, even the Tyner, White and Bartlett's are connecting. The only problem is if the starting pitching hits the wall before the break, with Garza being a rookie and Radke batting shoulder problems. It is going to be a fun last month though, as I am pretty sure the Tigers, Twins and Sox play each other quite a bit.

OssMan 08-27-2006 12:27 PM

Wow just realized how many whiteboys the Twins have who no one cares about

The Miz 08-27-2006 12:37 PM

Better than 987654 mediocre Latinos

MVP 08-27-2006 01:59 PM

Minnesota doesn't strike me as the first place Latinos wants to call home.

BCWWF 08-27-2006 02:27 PM

Why not?

YOUR Hero 08-27-2006 03:33 PM

I know it's cool to bash Beltre because his offensive numbers have nosedived, but he's not *that* bad.

ct2k 08-27-2006 07:07 PM

Saying they nosedived implies he was an offensive powerhouse, he was infact a one-year wonder.

And yeah he's not THAT bad, but come on what the fuck was that season all about?

The Outlaw 08-27-2006 07:22 PM

Ortiz with 99 stolen bases. Nice. ;)

Hafner's got 108 and Dye's close behind Ortiz with 95.

...you know, these 3 guys don't get enough praise for their running game.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 08-28-2006 12:07 AM

Ah atleast Ortiz hit a homerun

Joey Slugs 08-28-2006 01:14 AM

Yeah, but Dye is hitting .651 this year. Not bad.

2003 - G 158, H 134, HR 23, RBI 80, TB 237, BA .240, OBP .290

2004 - G 156, H 200, HR 48, RBI 121, TB 376, BA .334, OBP .388

2005 - G 156, H 154, HR 19, RBI 87, TB 249, BA .255, OBP .303

:wtf:

OssMan 08-28-2006 01:48 PM

wow i love john maine so much. probably a fluke run though :foc:

Fenix122 08-28-2006 02:17 PM

Mets magic number is 20. :y:

BCWWF 08-28-2006 04:15 PM

ct2k, his 2005 numbers were better than those in 2003, what's your point?

Jesus Shuttlesworth 08-28-2006 04:55 PM

His numbers are pretty similar in 2003/2005. So 2004 was a fluke, pretty obvious what his point was.

ct2k 08-28-2006 05:10 PM

His numbers besides 2004 are incredibly average, 290 OBP? Come on. He has been better this year, but still, I don't get it. To me a fluke is Orlando Hernandez hitting a grand slam, Beltre must've had a season full of flukes:|

The Miz 08-28-2006 05:22 PM

Beltre has been that bad. He ranked 10th in both OBP and SLG last year out of 11 AL 3B, beating only Aaron Boone. This year he is currently ranked 9th in OBP behind Crede and Inge, who unlike Beltre, play stellar defense. He is one of the 2 or 3 worst third-basemen in the AL, offensively and defensively (thank god for Beltre third base is one of Figgins' 57 positions).

I don't think I have to bring up the kazillion dollar contract

ct2k 08-28-2006 05:34 PM

I bet he's fucking brilliant on triple play 2007 or whatever

OssMan 08-28-2006 08:48 PM

Little League World Series is like a game of kickball, someone hits a groundball to the left side and it is a base hit.
