Yeah, I really don't want the Dodgers to win the World Series period. It's not because of the same reason I don't want the Red Sox to win. I mean I of course would favor the Dodgers over the Red Sox. But, I really don't want the media and ESPN to go ape shit on the Yankees. The last thing I want to hear is how stupid the Yankees were for giving up Torre.

I love Torre just as much as the next Yankee fan but I guarantee you if the Dodgers win the World Series all we will be hearing for the whole off season is how stupid the Yankees were for getting rid of him. I would be willing to bet money that, that is exactly what's gonna happen if the Dodgers win.

<font color=goldenrod>Bet the stupid Mets front office was watching last night's game and will use it as an excuse to not go after Holliday. "Nope, don't want him playing the spacious LF at Citi when he can't field game-ending liners!!!"</font>

Soooo the Angels just took the Red Sox behind the wood shed last night... are we just not going to talk about it?

I didn't want to bring it up. Since I'm not one of those cocky arrogant Yankee fans who like to rub their faces in it. But, yeah the Red Sox really have a great record against the Angels in the playoffs. I am trying to hold my head high and say the Angels will win this. But right now I can't see that happening. Remember this was the same team who was down 3 games to fucking zero and they came back and won the next 4.

YOUR Hero 10-09-2009 11:12 AM

Angels are coming into the playoffs quite a healthy team. The Red Sox on the other hand are not the same team they were a few years ago. They can and may still win this series, anything is possible. I'm rooting for the Angels myself in this series even though Ellesbury is quickly becoming one of my favourite players as well as the fact they've got Bay.
Sorry Miz.

Should be interesting to see which Beckett shows up today. Before last year he was up there with Schilling as the most dominant postseason pitchers of this decade.

Yeah, you never know with Beckett. But to tell you the truth I don't know which Burnett will show up tonight either. There's the good Burnett and then there's the bad Burnett. And unless Posada is the DH Yankees may have lost a pretty big bat since now apparently Burnett doesn't like Posada catching for him.

When your starting pitcher throws 100 pitches. 82 of them fast balls, the rest a combination of change ups, sliders, and curves, it should be easy to figure him out.

Atleast that's what was on the ticker on ESPN this morning.:o

He was injured last postseason

Angels beat them, no doubt. But can we also talk about some of that umpiring?
The home plate ump was giving Lackey way more calls than Lester. Lester was getting fucked over huge.
There were a number of third strikes called balls. There were also a number of these with 2 outs. Then there were the calls at first base.
These had a big impact on the game, since they kept innings going and raised Lesters pitch count, and the Angels scored a lot of their runs with 2 outs.
Fucking innings should have been over.

But it happens in baseball. Frustrating, but the Angels win and that's that.
Still think the Sox will win this

Emperor Smeat 10-09-2009 02:53 PM

Sounds like the ump was making up to the Angels for all the times Angels thought umps favored Red Sox in their match ups in the playoffs. As dumb as that sounds, the Angels really believe in that idea even though they have home field advantage in most of the series between the teams.

When Lackey is pitching well he is almost unstoppable but was hoping he would fall apart like he does normally in the playoffs but last night he never did it.

Loose Cannon 10-09-2009 03:50 PM

I heard it was going to be like 20 degrees in Denver for the game on Sat. they got to call that. you cannot play baseball in that kind of weather.

Loose Cannon 10-09-2009 03:53 PM

I hate playing when I have night games and it's 55 degrees outside in April. can't imagine even attempting to play in 20 degrees with wind

ClockShot 10-09-2009 06:53 PM

Gonna be an interesting game tonight. Probably 75% camera time on the game, 25% gets panned to Posada with a shotgun across his lap.

Innovator 10-09-2009 07:09 PM

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MEEEEEEEEEEEELKY

Innovator 10-09-2009 07:13 PM

ClockShot 10-09-2009 08:07 PM

Oh boy, here we go.

McLegend 10-09-2009 08:12 PM

That was kind of a lucky play.

Innovator 10-09-2009 08:12 PM

WOO SWISH

RP 10-09-2009 08:21 PM

If the Yanks get no hit by Blackburn, they should just quit the series and let the Twins move on.

Innovator 10-09-2009 08:23 PM

NO HIT NO HIT NO HIT NO HIT

SammyG 10-09-2009 08:56 PM

Supposedly this year's postseason goes deeper into November than last year if the World Series reaches 7 games. MLB is the last major sport that should be even thinking of going deeper into winter since baseball was never meant to be played in conditions similar to last year's Rays-Phillies World Series.

Innovator 10-09-2009 10:28 PM

ok now you A-Rod

Innovator 10-09-2009 10:31 PM

thecc 10-09-2009 10:31 PM

Innovator 10-09-2009 10:32 PM

FROM AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAROD

RP 10-09-2009 11:10 PM

A Rod must of had a fix!

RP 10-09-2009 11:11 PM

It would be poetic if Joe Mauer ended this game with a walk off hr.

McLegend 10-09-2009 11:20 PM

Joe Mauer should have scored by now. Terrible call by the left field ump.
