Sure, it wasn't a great wrestling match. But there was some storytelling in there with JBL, the veteran, constanly finding a way to gain the upper hand while Cena, the young up and comer, spent the whole match looking for one opening and got it. Hell, JBL displays some ring psychology by hitting several neckbreakers, an obvious way to set up for the Clothesline From Hell. The crowd was DEAD during the majority of the match, and I think it was because it followed both Taker/Orton and HBK/Angle, which were both great Mania matches. |

Yeah him and HHH were ridiculous with their entrances. Wasn't Triple H's 2002 Royal Rumble entrance longer than the entire 1:30 before the next entrant? :lol:

I do agree, but whatever follows Taker/HBK I feel sorry for. That's the match of the night. I'd buy the PPV at full price if it was only that match.

Yeah I really want Taker vs HBK to close the show and I think there is still a decent chance it will. I'm just going by the fact that Cena vs Bats was the closing segment for RAW and has been built up as the two biggest stars of this era clashing. Then again, the Vince vs Trump thing closed the RAW before WM in 2007 and that did not main event.
I guess we will find out. Either way all I would do in that case is swap the WWE Title match and Taker vs HBK. Everything else I would keep the same |
Also forgot to mention, Flair vs HBK was offered the main event for WM 24 but Flair denied. I think this is a bigger match and considering these two have been WWF 4 LYFE, they will probably get it offered again -- and I think they will accept. I am kind of hopeful they will get to main event now actually
