There is no way Jacobs is back next year, 265 lbs. of angry black man should run a lot harder than he does.

The fumble is definitely his fault. No doubt. That said...

One thing I don't think anyone is criticizing about the Giants this year is their offensive line. It has sucked. There has been some minor injuries where guys have missed games but nothing significant. The run blocking is god awful. The pass blocking is real suspect at times too. There has been games where Eli has played well in spite of this, but last night was not one of them.

I couldn't tell from the stands if it was Babin or Cole, but McKenzie was getting bull rushed all the way into Eli on a 5 step drop. Ridiculous.

I also think that the Giants have come to rely on getting pressure from rushing four on defense too much. They just don't dial anything up if that's not working.

Gonzo 11-21-2011 01:11 PM

IT STARTS IN THE TRENCHES

Gonzo 11-21-2011 01:15 PM

Well well well, Dan Graziano, NFC East blogger, on the awful offensive line:

Gonzo 11-21-2011 01:18 PM

Starting to feel like Droford, gonna stop now.

Evil Vito 11-21-2011 02:34 PM

Jacobs is certainly a goner. "The best thing our fans do is boo."

Fuck you too, Brandon. You haven't been good since 2008 and certainly haven't warranted your contract.

Innovator 11-21-2011 04:00 PM

Best thing Jacobs does is suck.

McLegend 11-21-2011 04:19 PM

And get tackled by terrible Eagles Linebackers.

Innovator 11-21-2011 04:22 PM

Nah he likes getting tackled by 170 lbs. corners also.

We'll see, I don't think it'll be one sided at all. My gut tells me that the QB that makes the smarter passes is going to lead their team to victory and that will probably be Alex Smith. Smith is very stingy with the ball this season and only goes for those tight west coast offense passes when it's almost a guaranteed catch. Flacco has a lot more confidence in his ability to throw the long ball and if he tries it too much on Thursday, especially when under pressure, he's gonna get picked.

Both defenses are fucking ridiculous so as weird as it sounds, it probably going to be the offensive battle that wins the game. Whatever offense turns over the least and can somehow get down field despite the defensive onslaught. I also wouldn't be surprised if this game turned into a field goal war. If that happens, Akers has an opportunity to go into berserker mode.

I'm not completely counting out the run game, but I say we'll probably see a whole lot less of it.

Ermaximus 11-21-2011 06:03 PM

If San Fran wins, you owe me an Alex Smith jersey. Deal?

RoXer 11-21-2011 06:04 PM

Narc's big fat gut's feelings

Nark Order 11-21-2011 06:17 PM

Aw come on. I avoided using the word "feeling" on purpose that time.

BTW, watch the game on Sunday RoXer?

Nark Order 11-21-2011 06:19 PM

Don't drop the ball whilst replying.

I did and I'm sorry your Chargers lost. But it is difficult to go into Soldier Field and get a win.

Nark Order 11-21-2011 06:45 PM

Philip Rivers is mah boy. I want him to attend my 26th birthday.

Maybe John Skelton will be nice enough to drive us to our destination. I know he does his fair share of dropping off.

RoXer 11-21-2011 06:49 PM

who?

Nark Order 11-21-2011 06:53 PM

It's never a bad time to poke fun at John Skelton. Out of context or not.

Supreme Olajuwon 11-21-2011 06:56 PM

Think the Niners/Ravens game is basically gonna come down to Torrey Smith v. Tarrell Brown/Chris Culliver/whoever is matched up with Baltimore's #2 receiver. Think Rogers can handle Bolden but I dunno if they can contain Smith on the other side. If they do, I'd be real confident picking the Niners. But that's a big if. Big as Narc's chin. Nah not that big.

RoXer 11-21-2011 06:59 PM

Curious on the record between the Cards and Niners now since they moved to the west. I think it's pretty even. Gunna look it up.

Nark Order 11-21-2011 06:59 PM

All of you need to decide whether I have one gigantic chin or 2 thousand tiny chins that span over a great facial distance. Get it all together now.

  • The Niners improved their overall series record vs. the Cardinals to 24-16, including 14-8 at Candlestick Park.

RoXer 11-21-2011 07:01 PM

7-12

RoXer 11-21-2011 07:02 PM

Only counting when they moved to the west

Nark Order 11-21-2011 07:03 PM

Of course you are.

How dare you.

49ers have the #1 overall defense but they are 21st vs the pass, 250 yards a game and 14 TDs. Ravens are 7th vs the pass 211 yards a game (and the fewest passing TDs allowed: 7, only other team in single digits are the Jets with 8)

Where it gets rough for the Ravens is that SF by far has the best Rush Defense..74 yards a game and no rush TDs allowed. But the good news is that ray Rice can be utilized in the passing game just as effectively to keep him in the game so I could still see him getting 100 total yards..

Its pretty much going to come down to turnovers since thats where SF makes their money, as they have a +17 turnover ratio (26 takeaways to 9 giveaways). The Ravens are going to need to get some and not make any.
the games the Ravens have lost were all ones where they had several costly turnovers (Ray Rice had 3 in the Jax game, David Reed had 2 fumbles in the Seattle Game)..

Droford 11-21-2011 09:09 PM

all of you tebow fans should go bet on them vs the Chargers..getting 6.5 points vs the Chargers who have lost 5 games in a row and probably wont win another game the whole year.

droford jinx though, but anyway..

screech 11-21-2011 09:26 PM

Ravens have been so inconsistent this year it's hard to tell how the 49ers game will go. It should be a good one, but it could be a mess.

The Ravens are consistent at winning in Baltimore. They have one of the best home records in football over the last 10 years. They had been a pretty decent road team under Harbaugh but for whatever reason they are not this year. The game is in Baltimore though so that doesn't matter.

BigDaddyCool 11-21-2011 09:57 PM

Let's go chiefs!

Nark Order 11-22-2011 12:16 AM

Dear God, Chiefs.

Tyler Palko was cut from like 4 different teams for a reason.

Droford 11-22-2011 12:20 AM

another snoozer on Sunday night with the Chiefs jobing to the Steelers..ugh

Droford 11-22-2011 12:21 AM

how did NBC not flex schedule that game out for something else...2 weeks they flexed out a colts game for Lions/Saints

Emperor Smeat 11-22-2011 12:37 AM

Great showing by the defense today and a 2 game cushion on the division.

So what was the point of KC making that mini-run of a win streak if they got back to sucking badly the last couple of weeks. Took them out of the Luck sweeps and a few good draft picks with those 4 wins.

Supreme Olajuwon 11-22-2011 10:45 AM

Because teams aren't actually trying to tank their seasons on purpose.
