Yeup, Oakland was doomed once Goodell quickly rejected the new proposal from them. It had stuff better than the Vegas deal but league didn't care and was already set on moving the team once Sheldon Adelson dropped out for Vegas.

Only team it seemed the league really didn't want to move was the Chargers which is why they were supposedly furious when the Chargers owner grabbed the 2nd LA spot. Also think they were offered the most money by the league to stay.

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-27-2017 05:45 PM

I hope that dumbshit fan from that XFL video is happy.

Emperor Smeat 03-27-2017 05:55 PM

Raiders way of celebrating today's news was to announce ticket prices for the next couple of seasons got raised by 50% on average with cheaper seats going even higher to over 200%.

Ruien 03-27-2017 08:36 PM

Haha. Hope everyone boycotts.

#1-norm-fan 03-27-2017 09:14 PM

At least the Rams and Chargers were shit when they moved so it was a good time to move on for fans. Also, the Chargers moved like 3 hours away so no big deal really.

The Raiders finally have a good team with a bright future and they're leaving. Sucks for the fans.

Ruien 03-27-2017 09:34 PM

Wrong thread.

Droford 03-28-2017 12:15 AM

What eventually will happen now is sports betting will be legalized and the leagues will get a cut of it to supplement the fact that tv contracts are going to fall off with everyone dumping pay tv. There's really no other perpetual money stream for the NFL and other leagues to tap into to replace it.

Evil Vito 03-28-2017 09:55 AM

It'll suck for the Raiders fans even more when the NFL adjusts the broadcast maps to make the Chargers the main team in Oakland instead of the Raiders.

Simple Fan 03-28-2017 12:15 PM

I like it. Always hate watching the Raiders play on a baseball diamond.

Emperor Smeat 03-28-2017 01:59 PM

Jerry Jones rumored to have played a major role in getting the league to approve all three teams to move due to his marketing company having connections with these teams. Also the rumored reason why the Miami owner voted no for the Raiders move was because Jones cut into his business there and/or beat him to a lucrative deal with Vegas.

Quote:

Tim Kawakami‏ @timkawakami

The more I talk to people around this, the more obvious it becomes: Jerry Jones is driving every bit of this...

As I said yesterday, through his marketing company--Legends--Jones will have some sway over the Rams, Chargers, 49ers and Raiders...

Legends will handle suites and sponsorships for the Las Vegas stadium, including potentially the largest naming rights deal ever...

It is estimated that Legends/Jones' take from the combined Rams/Chargers/49ers/Raiders new stadium activity: Hundreds of millions.

Most remarkable thing (to me) is Jones/Legends will get hundreds of millions of out this, while taking none of the financial risk.

Simple Fan 03-28-2017 03:01 PM

Oakland losing the Raiders and Warriors will suck for fans in that city. Always liked the Raiders (not as much as the Cowboys) and think Las Vegas is a great place for them.

Are the A's looking to get a new stadium? Oakland should do everything they can to keep them.

Yes and would be surprised if the As left since the way the mayor implied, the city is going to put a lot more focus into fixing the As situation now.

Might have just been the vibes, but the mayor sort of implied the NFL gave an ultimatum of them dropping the As and doing everything pro-Raiders just to have the chance of keeping the Raiders.

#1-norm-fan 03-28-2017 07:07 PM

They're gonna start playing in San Francisco in a couple years.

Ruien 03-28-2017 07:11 PM

Emperor Smeat 03-29-2017 05:38 PM

According to reports, teams have been dropping Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon from their potential 1st round pick choices and its related to a domestic violence incident he had in 2014. Dolphins and Pats already came out publicly saying they won't take him in the 1st round while experts think he's probably now a 2nd or 3rd rounder at best.

Supposedly NFL teams were upset he never got a real punishment from the NCAA nor Oklahoma while in college. He did get redshirted but teams felt Oklahoma only did it because they already had enough talented RBs on their roster to not feel any effect. They were upset the most of Mixon not showing any remorse till the tape of the incident got released last December and felt he only did so in order to salvage his draft stock.

Droford 03-31-2017 02:20 AM

I just saw that as of the Oakland As home opener the stadium will be known as Rickey Henderson Field at Oakland Alameda County Coliseum. I wonder if the Raiders get to name it for a player for Raiders ganes

City of St Louis currently suing both the NFL and the Rams in regards to claims of Rams failing to follow NFL's relocation rules and NFL for being actively involved in getting the team to leave.

City is pissed the most about being on the hook for $144 million left on the stadium's debt and Rams breaking the terms of their lease the moment it became possible because of the NFL.

The NFL did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment.

Eli Manning currently dealing with some legal issues after it was revealed he has been active in selling fake game-worn merchandise to memorabilia buyers.

Giants also dealing with similar legal issues after an equipment manager was outed as helping Manning with the scam.

The legal filing also alleges that Big Blue failed to produce the smoking-gun request — sent from Manning’s old-school AOL account to an official NFL account — even though “they claim to have no document destruction policy.”

But Manning turned over the incriminating email last week in connection with a civil racketeering suit that accuses him, his team and others of conspiring to fleece collectors of authentic athletic uniforms worn on the playing field.

Manning’s email is contained in a pair of exchanges that allegedly began when his marketing agent, Alan Zucker, asked Manning to supply “2 game used helmets and 2 game used jerseys” as per the two-time Super Bowl MVP’s contract with memorabilia dealer Steiner Sports.

Several hours after Zucker sent the request on April 27, 2010, Giants equipment manager Joe Skiba sent Manning an email saying: “Let me know what your looking for I’ll try to get something down for you…,” court papers say.

“2 helmets that can pass as game used. That is it. Eli,” Manning allegedly responded from his BlackBerry at 2:08 p.m.

At 2:25 p.m., Manning wrote back to Zucker, saying: “Should be able to get them for tomorrow.”

“Thanks Eli,” Zucker responded.

#1-norm-fan 04-13-2017 08:37 PM

What a dick.

Droford 04-13-2017 08:46 PM

So does Eli get suspended? He almost has to or Pats fans are going to be impossible

Emperor Smeat 04-14-2017 07:48 PM

Apparently this issue became a big deal at least in regards to the memorabilia side mainly because Eli and the Giants are near the tops when it comes to supplying game-used stuff for purchases.

Cowboys have more interest and popularity overall but Giants stuff sells the most in regards to demand for NFL merch.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost...5&postcount=19
http://www.sportsmemorabilia.com/sna...bilia-industry

Giants got dragged into the lawsuit because they forgot to delete one email between Eli and the equipment manager out of all the emails deleted on this topic. Had they also deleted that email, there would have been no known concrete or strong evidence of what Eli was doing for the scam.

Feel bad for Todd Heap.

Quote:

Police in Mesa, Arizona, confirmed Friday that former Baltimore Ravens and Arizona Cardinals tight end Todd Heap accidentally hit and killed his three-year-old daughter with his truck, according to ABC 15's Clayton Klapper and Joe Bartels.

The accident reportedly occurred on Heap's driveway. Per Fox 10 in Phoenix, the victim "was taken to a local hospital, where she later died."

Police also said "there were no suspicious circumstances to the incident, and that impairment does not appear to be a factor."

Nope. It wasn't a catch. Tough shit. Should have kicked the FG.

#1-norm-fan 12-20-2017 01:15 AM

Seriously, it's the dumbest fucking rule in football. If you control the ball and make a football move, it's a catch. If you have the catch, by those rules, and then reach for the goalline, it's a touchdown as soon as it crosses the plane.

... If the guy falls to the ground and the ball hits the ground and moves slightly after all of that has already happened, you basically retroactively did NOT catch the ball.

#1-norm-fan 12-20-2017 01:18 AM

Crazy idea: A guy catching a football should be ruled a catch.

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-20-2017 01:52 AM

He didn't make a football move. He stumbled into the endzone while catching and it hit the ground and turned. No football move, no control, no catch. No new rule to correct it.

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-20-2017 01:56 AM

Just stick to making fun of Droford and the Ravens.

#1-norm-fan 12-20-2017 02:17 AM

He did make a football move. He turned his body, went to a knee and lunged for the touchdown.

Like I said, if it happened to the Patriots, you'd be bitching because that's what you do. You defended Gronkowski assaulting a defenseless guy after a play, FFS. You're a Droford-level delusional homer. You don't get to have an opinion on this.

Chuck Pagano is expected to coach his final game with the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. The team will begin its search for a new head coach upon the conclusion of the 2017 season, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports, citing sources.

Team owner Jim Irsay has already made calls to prepare, Rapoport adds.

Chris Ballard's first season as the Colts' general manager has resulted in a 3-12 campaign. It's expected he will instead opt to hand pick the next coach.

No one's arguing that it wasn't the right call. You're hearing things that don't mesh with your blind homer-ism and it's making your brain smoke and malfunction. Have a drink and try to comprehend the discussion.

#1-norm-fan 12-31-2017 03:48 AM

Also, who was the blind homer in New York handing down the punishment for Brady?

Thought so. Guilty.

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-31-2017 05:10 PM

They refused all the science of that case. Different.

#1-norm-fan 12-31-2017 05:11 PM

Definitely bias when it's against the Pats.

Blind... homer...

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-31-2017 08:03 PM

So, you deny that they ignored the Ideal Gas Law and the crazy weather that happened during the game?

#1-norm-fan 12-31-2017 09:08 PM

Proving my point more and more.

SUCH a blind homer. Keep going.

#1-norm-fan 12-31-2017 09:09 PM

Let's not forget the whole situation where you defended Rob Gronkowski intentionally concussing a man. Doesn't get much more blind homer-tastic than that. Your blind homerism shows as much as Droford's.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-01-2018 05:04 AM

He's been sent to the hospital because defenders know they won't get calls for holding and roughing him up.

When that guy maybe lines up in the playoffs maybe he follows the rules a little more closely.

#1-norm-fan 01-01-2018 05:25 AM

... Seriously? lol

#1-norm-fan 01-01-2018 05:28 AM

If Gronk is guilty of pass interference and it doesn't get called and the defender reacts by driving his elbow into Gronk's neck and head while he's on the ground defenseless and leaves him concussed, or worse, you'll totally defend that guy's actions, right?

Blind homer to an insane level. And THAT'S why your opinion on stuff like the Steelers non-catch doesn't matter.
