Replace Buffalo in that list with Indy and then you have something. Fuck the AFC South and it's bullshit easiness for the Colts to win.

Though I'd rather have PIT have a spot automatically rather than IND. You can't steal the Bills from my Patriots though. They have to kick their ass every year to make up for all those times they failed at the Superbowl.

I took a few minutes to look over the divisions and I feel I have the proper reallignment for the AFC. I checked over the NFC and I didn't see any glaring mistakes or geographical abnormalities like there are in the AFC (Indy=South?! South of what? A little South of North ?)

AFC East:

Patriots, Jets, Bills, and Baltimore. Three power house teams maybe making the competition a little bit too much. It would make for some great football except for the games with the Bills.

AFC North:

Steelers, Indy, Browns, Bengals. Two powerhouse teams plus two teams for them to feast on.

South:

Texans, Miami, Titans and Jaguars: Miami joins the proper division since they are one of the southiest teams in the league. No real powerhouse teams so there will always be heavy compeition to be the least shittiest teams. Keeping these jobbers in one division also leaves the other divisions with better TV ratings and matchups.

West:

Chiefs, Broncos, Raiders, Chargers: No change. Division is always full of competition and it always changes on what teams are competing.

Put Pittsburgh in the East, Indy in the North, Miami in the South. Sorted :)

What an odd game that was in the beginning. Then it just turned into a good 'ol fashioned dismantling. Geez.

You do realize that teams tend to get better and worse over time right?

:foc: Who says Indy wins the South this year??? That remains to be seen and I have every bit of faith in my Jaguars thank you very much. MoJo is going to run all over Indy, like he always does.

lol @ McNabb

What are the chances he's gonna cut and run after this season and leave that $78 million behind? Looking pretty good right now.

Corndad 12-17-2010 06:14 PM

I bet he ends up being cut and is the Quarterback for either the Cardinals or the 49ers next year.

Troy Polamalu out for rest of the season but expected to return for the playoffs due to injured Achilles tendon. He won't be put on the IR list so Pitt can't replace his spot for the last few games.

This benefits the Jets a lot since they need a win badly after sucking last 2 games and the Ravens since they could go back as division leaders with a Pitt loss. Steelers need the win to get closer to locking up an extra week off as a bye for the playoffs for Polamalu.

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-18-2010 05:55 PM

Tim Tebow to start for the first time in his NFL career this week. Can anything else go wrong for the Denver Broncos?

Hanso Amore 12-18-2010 10:38 PM

Yeah, people seem to forget the old AFC east when the Bills dominated NE, Miami, Indy and NY

I dont see the bills being good any time soon. But as soon as manning and brady Retire, the AFC is going to shift like it did when Marino, Kelly and Elway retired.

Cyclical.

I don't see how you can break up the AFC North. All 4 teams are close geographically and there are pretty decent rivalries between all 4 teams including the best one going in football between the Ravens and Steelers which you pretty much give up.

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-19-2010 11:46 AM

Ravens/Pats has become a pretty big rivalry itself. With the playoffs and all the trash talk between the two teams. Also a Jets/Ravens Rivalry could quickly start because of both of their defensive-oriented teams and trash talking defenders.

Steelers/Indy would also make a great matchup twice a year.
It's also time to end the rivalry between Cleveland and Baltimore or at least move it to one-game a year "special opponent" like Pats have with Indy.

So, I think it is an improvement that brings more parity to the divisions. Indy pretty much had to have all of their players on IR or banged up with concussions just for a CHANCE of them not winning their division this year. Things have to change and this is how I did it.

If you can fix unfair AFC south another way. Go ahead and give it a go.

Droford 12-19-2010 11:57 AM

How is the AFC South unfair?

2009
3 teams at .500 or better (12-4 Colts, 9-7 Texans, 8-8 Titans..plus the Jaguars were 7-9) only the Colts made the playoffs
2008
3 teams at .500 or better (13-3 Titans, 12-4 Colts, 8-8 Texans) and 2 made the playoffs (Titans and Colts)
2007
3 teams at .500 or better (13-3 Colts, 11-5 Jaguars, 10-6 Titans) and all 3 made the playoffs
2006
3 teams at .500 or better (12-4 Colts, 8-8 Jags and Titans) only the Colts made the playoffs
2005
2 teams at .500 or better (14-2 Colts, 12-4 Jaguars) only the colts made the playoffs

So its been since 2005 that the division didn't have more than 2 teams finish .500 or better. Take a look at the other divisions in football and you'll see thats above average. Its no more unfair than the AFC East where the Patriots win the division almost every year other than the year Brady was hurt and the Bills/Dolphins/Jets sucked on a regular basis.

2005
2 teams at .500 or better (10-6 Patriots, 9-7 Dolphins) only Patriots made playoffs
2006
2 teams at .500 or better (12-4 Patriots, 10-6 Jets) both made playoffs
2007
1 team at .500 or better (Patriots 16-0)
2008
3 teams at .500 or better (Dolphins 11-5, Patriots 11-5, Jets 9-7) only Dolphins made the playoffs
2009
2 teams at .500 or better (Patriots 10-6, Jets 9-7) both made the playoffs.

I think the Lions are gonna win today and break their road winless streak..

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-19-2010 12:53 PM

Should I start Freeman or Sanchez in fantasy football?

Droford 12-19-2010 12:57 PM

omg Billick is doing a Ravens game..

this should be awesome..I hope he rags on em the whole game

go with Sanchez over Freeman..the Steelers are without Big Hair and they were already soft in the pass defense as it was..

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-19-2010 01:12 PM

I got that WR/QB from Minnesota in as a WR right at the deadline of fantasy football in one league. Double QB points!

Shit, I got Colts/Jagz. Touchdown Collie 7-0 already...:(:|

Droford 12-19-2010 01:19 PM

15 yard roughing one of the big QBs call on Ed Reed sets up a Brees TD...go figure.

didn't have much hope in the Ravens winning today and if they get calls against them like that one (which fox never showed the full replay of..) then whatever

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-19-2010 01:23 PM

Colts just got away with a helmet-helmet contact. It was a clusterfuck though so the refs couldn't see it.

They should allow replays for such plays.
