Hopefully they're all on Peterson for a loss....

up 7 points in the confrence championship game... but my team is done and they have Peterson tonight... doesn't look good, unless Peterson has a game like last week or tweaks his acl again...

Y2Ant 12-17-2007 07:58 PM

As long as we win tonight I don't care who gets what stats.

SammyG 12-17-2007 08:04 PM

Roy Williams suspended one game for the horse collar.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-17-2007 08:10 PM

Really? I dunno about all that

Good move by the NFL.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-17-2007 09:38 PM

Didn't realize he has done it a bunch of times when I posted earlier.

But God damn....Get some tackles Lance Briggs :(

SammyG 12-18-2007 12:04 AM

Are the Vikings seriously gonna make the playoffs.

Y2Ant 12-18-2007 01:04 PM

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-18-2007 01:10 PM

Not if you lose one game so the Saints can sneak in..

:D

Y2Ant 12-18-2007 02:04 PM

You know I can actually see us losing to the Redskins next week, especially since technically they can get in too I think.

And it's not like we'll go far if we DO make it, but still :foc: to the Saints

Y2Ant 12-18-2007 02:04 PM

Adrian Peterson > Reggie Bush

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-18-2007 03:54 PM

I think it's going to be kinda tough for Sean Taylor to make that trip to Hawaii.

I agree with Ant here. In the long run, barring injuries from either guy, I think Peterson is a better running back. Reggie is versatile, but he will never be an every down back.

OssMan 12-18-2007 06:10 PM

Chris Cooley.........BOOOOOOOOOOOO

He is a good TE. Deserves it in my opinion. Even though he is a Redskin and I am a sworn enemy by default.

Has anyone else noticed that outside of their passing game which is terrible, the Vikings are nasty everywhere else? They have one of the best left sides of an offensive line ever assembled in the NFL and then Tony Richardson behind that at fullback. They have the one of the two best DT combos in the NFL (I would say the best but you could make a case for Jacksonville), their linebackers are solid and they have a shutdown secondary. They really have a Super Bowl quality team if they could just throw the ball.

VonErichLives 12-18-2007 08:34 PM

Think Brady throws a TD to Vrabel in the pro bowl...

Brady, Moss, 3/5ths of the OL... Wilfork, Vrabel, Samuel...

of course the team now and who/what actually shows up is a different story.

Skippord 12-18-2007 09:09 PM

The Vikings would be amazing if they had any worthwhile wideouts

Even then that formula will work as long as Jackson doesn't make mistakes at the QB position. I think their secondary has come around in the latter half of the season. I know heading into their game with the Giants they were pretty low on the totem pole in terms of pass defense, but everyone knows Eli made them all look like all pros.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-18-2007 10:03 PM

Yeah they give up the most passing yards per game in the NFL but that number is a bit skewed because teams average more pass attempts against them per game than any other opponent. They give up 6.88 yards per attempt which is tied with Jacksonville for 14th. They've given up 17 pass TDs which is 8th best in the league and they have 8 defensive TDs which is 1st. So yeah they might be the weakest part of the defense but they're definitely not a weakness.

Gonzo 12-18-2007 10:15 PM

Yeah their defense is pretty stout. I don't usually look to statistics to tell the tale, who the hell knows, could be a lot of "garbage" yards. They have a really good run defense, so teams could have looked to the pass all year to try to move the ball.

Cooler Tom Schuler 12-18-2007 10:25 PM

I find the tentative Vikings to Packers ratio in the Pro Bowl to be disturbing.

OssMan 12-18-2007 10:29 PM

Good thing Cromartie and his 10 INTs isn't starting :|

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-18-2007 11:02 PM

Since 10 INTs are the only indicator of good defensive back play

DrA 12-18-2007 11:20 PM

This has been one of the worst statistical years for running backs I have ever seen. I believe they could have done better than Barber and Westbrook, maybe put in Portis or Brandon Jacobs instead of them. Other than that I guess it looks like an alright pro bowl selection overall. To be honest I haven't paid attention to how Patrick Kerney or Darren Sharper were doing, but I guess they are still doing alright for themselves.

SammyG 12-18-2007 11:30 PM

Holt elected again :D

Crimson 12-19-2007 12:15 AM

Barber in the probowl ftw

Don't sleep on Sidney Rice. Kid's gonna be good.

Hanso Amore 12-19-2007 06:16 AM

and starting at Free Safety, a Rotting, Festering, Maggot Infested Corpse!

Supreme Olajuwon 12-19-2007 12:47 PM

Minnesota needs to hire Paul Johnson as offensive coordinator to teach them the wishbone offense for the playoffs. If Navy can do it with the talent they have, I'm sure the Vikings could do it too.

Quite an accomplishment for our "backup" running back. :nono:

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-19-2007 02:34 PM

How did Colston not make the Pro bowl? I would pick him over a lot of the guys who did make it at the wide out spot on the NFC team

SammyG 12-19-2007 03:06 PM

Not Torry :) Also, Parcells gonna become the VP of football operations in Atlanta, what.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-19-2007 03:15 PM

Except he has more catches, more touchdowns, more bigger games and more yards than Torry Holt

The only thing Holt has over him is the fact that Holt has been putting up consistent numbers through out the year, where as Colston has had a really bad game or two (One game against the Seahawks he was pretty close to shut out I think)

Hanso Amore 12-19-2007 04:27 PM

The Pro Bowl is a fucking joke. 11 Cowboys and a Dead Redskin, sounds more like the wild west.

No one from the NFC South? No Jaguars? No Browns?

Fucking JOKE!

SammyG 12-19-2007 04:47 PM

I respect the fact that Sean Taylor was voted in as a starter.
