The worst? How? I was THE POSTER OF THE TOTAL YEAR on Rajah
Sounds like the Bungles might be going committee approach, they're talking up Jeremy Hill and gave him mad carries last night. Gio Bernard going way too high in D&D drafts
Not happy about the move but hopefully Gio proves himself during the regular season to become the running back again.
Aldon Smith suspended 9 games for violating the substance abuse and personal conduct policies.

YAY FOOTBALL
I find it funny Snyder wants to replace FedEx which opened in 1997 and is already falling apart
SPOILER: show and yet the Ravens stadium opened in 1998 and is in much better condition.. |
Aldon is such a fuck up.

Corey Washington makes the cut for the Giants
No surprises there, he pretty much had to make it. He might actually see some snaps on opening night as he figures to be the #4 WR with Beckham probably not ready by then.
Trindon Holliday officially to injured reserve. What a bummer. Would have been fun to have him as a return man but he hurt his hamstring early on and didn't play at all in the preseason.
Sounds like the Giants will use their short-term IR option on Geoff Schwartz. Schwartz has said he'll probably miss 3-4 weeks but Coughlin is being extra cautious, giving him the short-term IR keeps him out for 8 games. Ugh. |
How long until there's protests of the Rams for releasing Michael Sam?
He'll likely get put on the practice squad and, if something happens to someone on the team, he'll get signed from there.
He put on a good showing. Someone will pick him up this year when some injuries happen.
Yeah, the Rams are loaded at DE. He'll either get claimed to another team's 53 man roster or he'll make the Rams practice squad. Only valid complaint would be if he ends up completely unemployed which I can't see happening.
well just about every team passed on him in the draft so what are the odds someone like him off waivers? and if he's on the Rams practice squad..who cares.
Saints release Champ Bailey. Damn, would have like to have seen him get one more solid season under his belt. Maybe the Broncos will take him back?
Ryan Mallett ended up surviving the roster cuts for the Pats while Stevan Ridley kept his spot and Jonas Gray cut for the RB corps. Bulk of the cuts ended up being from the secondary for the final round.
Texans still want Mallett and had the waiver claim ready had he been cut today. |

Guarantee we'll have the Sam Rule where every NFL team has to at least try out a Gay player or coach.
Droford you are a fucking moron
Just remember the NFL is the league that forces teams to interview at least one black coach when hiring new coaches for no other reason than because they're black..
Because of years of racism where they weren't given any interviews at all even if they were the right man for the job. Just be glad they don't have the same rule for women or you'd be flipping your shit even more.
Droford. You are a really ignorant person.
Somebody will pick Sam up. Rams are stacked right now.
Not too many unexpected moves with the Giants cuts. Probably the biggest surprise is that Kerry Wynn made the team as an undrafted DE, and they kept 10 DL when most figured they'd keep 10. Can't say I really understand what they see in Markus Kuhn though, if they wanted to keep a 5th DT I would have preferred Kelcy Quarles who may not make it through to the practice squad.
I guess it makes sense though. The assumption was that the Giants would take some combination of 11 DBs, they wound up going with 10. They do have 5 genuinely good cornerbacks and will probably be able to stash Bennett Jackson, Thomas Gordon, and/or Chandler Fenner onto the practice squad so they should at least have some backup for when the inevitable injuries happen. They also kept 10 OL which seems a bit excessive but then again a lot of them are banged and Geoff Schwartz is probably going on the short-term IR on Tuesday. Wouldn't be too surprised if 2-3 players on the Giants' official opening night roster are guys who were just cut from elsewhere. Especially at TE. When Daniel Fells wins your starting TE job after being out of football last year, you know there's a problem. |
James Harrison has announced his retirement.

I think you missed the point there, Droford.
Ryan Mallett finally traded to the Texans.
Damn it. I thought Mallet could have been the answer after Brady. A 6th round pick? Jesus Christ. They wanted him why not ask for more?
Yeah that was the plan but Mallett kept struggling during every preseason.
The fact Mallett was only worth a very low draft pick is pretty bad but Jimmy Garoppolo was really good this preseason. Then again the only reason he wasn't cut earlier was because the Texans didn't want to wait until after the cuts to say he was their big waiver target. |
49ers Ray McDonald expected to be the first player punished by the NFL under the new domestic violence rules. Already some rumors the NFL might go higher than 6 games and 49ers preparing to release him.

What is up with that hating on him Droford? Why will he be in Canada? Why is that bad? Does not mean he will never play in the NFL either, in a regular season game. Sooooo confused on your post.
And he had a damn good preseason. You know it. |
C'mon Ruien. We know the reason.
I hope at the end of the season some website like Deadspin or something tallies up the number of articles on ESPN headlined by either Michael Sam or Johnny Manziel and compares them.
Anyway I spent this entire weekend doing D&D football drafts and am officially ready for football season. Let's go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my only issue is that no one would care about him if he wasn't gay. Odds are good he wouldn't have even been drafted. Nobody cares about him for his ability to play the game because he isn't good. If he was, there'd be 31 other teams knocking down his door trying to sign him. There are hundreds of players that got cut over the weekend who are probably more deserving of a shot in the NFL than him.
He's the first openly gay player of course it's a big deal. He was a defensive player of the year. He was going to be drafted straight or no.

Or we can just imagine all the ESPN analyst, who get paid millions of dollars, jave no idea what they are talking about. Honestly, how can you be so daft? |
NFL Logic. Don't need athleticism, skill or endurance.
Just look at Tom Brady irrelevant every season yet still considered a contender. Andrew Luck overrated. Adrian Peterson overrated off one mediocre season. NFL is all hype and no show it's comical. |
Cant help but feel bad for Sam. Business is business I guess.

Yeah, nobody is going to care about the SEC defensive player of the year. Damn him for being gay and creating a media buzz over a worthless player!!!
Can't stand most sports writers. TMQ on ESPN (I used to read his stuff a lot) is terrible, saying Seattle won't even make playoffs. Get out of here. Hate how internet writers just say stupid shit for clickbait. The internet is the worst.
I heard Seattle is projected to go 0-16 #internet
oh man what a ballsy prediction! better click on screech.blogspot.fuckingterrible
 @ Seattle not making the playoffs
Yeah the Giants and Ravens both missed out a year after winning the Super Bowl and it's a tough division...but christ. They would need to lose half of their team to injury for them to not make it. they're crazy deep. |
Looking at over/under lines 'cause I'm gonna place some bets tonight. The ones I'm feeling and will probably drop money on:
San Diego: over 8 wins (-150) Chicago: over 8.5 (-145) Tampa Bay: over 7 (-140) terrible odds on all 3 but I feel very strongly about them, especially SD Will ponder more later on |
It's conceivable that Seattle won't make the playoffs. I personally think they will but stranger things have happened. Quite frankly I'll take the guys who make ballsy predictions over the 99.99999% of these Jon Kanos who all say the exact same thing and base most of their predictions on what happened last year.
The difference between Seattle this year and Baltimore/NYG of years past is that the 'Hawks last year were convincingly one of the best teams all season long. At no point did it ever feel flukey that they were going to make/win the Super Bowl. If you're telling me that in week 11 or 12 of 2012 that Baltimore would be the SB champion I'm calling bullshit. Those two teams (BAL/NYG) over-achieved and got hot at the right time while Seattle was a legit contender the entire time. Good teams like that don't just fade away.
I think they're the best team going into this season, and I think they're going to be good for a while, but if Wilson goes down, who's a big reason why that team is so good, and they have a couple of key injuries in the defensive line or secondary or offensive line, then all of a sudden that team loosens up quite a bit and you have a situation where a team that started out the season 6-1 is now 8-7 and on their third string quarterback. Green Bay last year after Rodgers went down is a good example of that sort of thing. Stuff like that happens to at least one powerhouse team every year, but experts and fans like to sweep those variables out of sight because it messes with this false sense of equilibrium they develop before the season starts. And if the 49ers are really good, and you have one of those wild card races where there's a division with three 10-5 teams in it, then Seattle could easily be the odd man out under the right circumstances. That applies to every other team in the league as well.
Droford definitely called Baltimore winning the Super Bowl before the season even started...of course he did the same last season and every season prior to the one they won, but he did call it.

-statements that could be made for literally any season of any NFL team in any era in any city of all time ever come on |
Like I GET IT, a "what if... ?" scenario could derail the Seahawks
Same shit is just as, if not MORE likely to happen to the 49ers, Broncos, Patriots, Eagles, Colts, Bengals, Chargers (wow AFC feels loaded this year), Cardinals, Packers, or literally EVERY TEAM in the league There is nothing to even begin to remotely suggest that Russel Wilson will all of a sudden become an injury risk. These arguments are ridiculous |
You know what, I agree, no argument from me. I don't think that's going to happen with Seattle.
Packers over the Seahawks, this Thursday on WCW Thunder, bet on that
What's the line? Hawks by 6? I like the Packers this year but Seattle is the one team in pro sports that has a legit home field advantage. Will be very tough to pull off but definitely would be a statement game for the Pack
Is the game on NBC? Hope so. Wanna see it
Seattle will not repeat or even win the west because I, Dustin, said so. This is not based on anything but spite.
Seriously want to get NFL Game Pass this year. Might split on it avec buddy of mine.
Just worried that we won't be able to watch it simultaneously. Most likely will be watching with him on Sundays but for Thursday/Monday night games I don't wanna have stupid lockout crap. Anyone use Game Pass before? Good experience? If I'm watching on my desktop and he's on his computer/tablet can we both watch simultaneously? I know you can with mlb.tv |

The Falcons though you could make the argument that the other shoe was bound to drop. They mortgaged their future when they made the Julio trade, basically becoming a "stars and scrubs" type of team (just like my beloved Tigers), and when one of those stars (Julio) went down, it crippled them.
Seattle isn't in such a position. They have a ton of depth at key spots. They could have a down year, sure, but I would be incredibly surprised if they win less than 9 games |
Annoying that anyone ever thinks they know anything
Ravens all the way this year.. |

Cowboys Weaknesses: Owner willing to lend all his time, money, and expertise to team; Opponents could potentially exploit holes in Cowboys defense by running, passing ball |

Ravens are better overall than they were in 2012, especially on defense but it would surprise me if they get to the Super Bowl. The offense was the problem last year and most of the blame was on Ray Rice being awful but at least for the preseason they've shown the ability to run the ball. Also I don't think everyone knew how important Pitta was to Flacco until he missed most of last year, so having him healthy is a huge plus.

The only thing worse would be if he signed with the Steelers, which would be funny cause the Steelers will be in Baltimore for the game next Thursday.

Giants officially place Geoff Schwartz on IR/Designated to Return and sign Adam Snyder to the 53-man roster.

Dalton 3 years 11360 yards 80/49 88.5 rat 30-18 0-3 playoff Luck averages more yards, less interceptions, more wins and even has a playoff win, but they're both relatively the same. He'll be paid more than Dalton when his contract comes up too. |
Would much rather have Luck than Dalton. Not even close.
