OssMan 03-30-2015 11:05 PM

Lock Jaw 03-30-2015 11:05 PM

Disgusting "We Are Awesome" chant....

road doggy dogg 03-30-2015 11:05 PM

"WE ARE AWESOME" ... eh... not so much, getting a bit much now

RawRocks 03-30-2015 11:06 PM

nobody cares for the main event

Crimson 03-30-2015 11:06 PM

Poor Reigns still getting booed

road doggy dogg 03-30-2015 11:06 PM

I liked that move from Reigns

Ryback looks like Kurt Angle

road doggy dogg 03-30-2015 11:07 PM

DA BIG GUY

RawRocks 03-30-2015 11:07 PM

Did Ryback just do that?!?!?!

road doggy dogg 03-30-2015 11:07 PM

That Shellshock on Show was amazing. Why couldn't they let him do that at WM?! and still let Big Show win, but give Ryback that moment..

Corndad 03-30-2015 11:07 PM

Saxton reminds me of the Color Commentator from Major League 2 but less funny.

Evil Vito 03-30-2015 11:07 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Come on. Kane takes the RKO but totally no-sells it so he can get up and be in line for the Spear. Hate endings like that.</font>

OssMan 03-30-2015 11:08 PM

poor Lord Byron did really poorly...

James Steele 03-30-2015 11:08 PM

After the Sting interview, their showing the Randy Savage doc. God bless Vince McMahon and the WWE Network!

Savio 03-30-2015 11:08 PM

lol at the subdued "out of nowhere" from Saxton

el bobbo 03-30-2015 11:08 PM

That ending was shitte. Can't they hear everyone taking a huge dump on this dude?

Simple Fan 03-30-2015 11:09 PM

to be fair they would take a shit on anyone who wasn't an NXT wrestler at that point, so that doesn't tell us anything

#1-norm-fan 03-30-2015 11:09 PM

Despite Reigns, that face team was the massive crowd favorites even with a smark crowd. Wrestling actually made sense.

Kane is an awful seller anyway, goes down on one knee for every move like that. Pedigree, RKO, you name it.

Droford 03-30-2015 11:10 PM

They pretty much killed the aura around the post wm raw

Emperor Smeat 03-30-2015 11:10 PM

Shellshock to Big Show was great but King/Saxton did a really bad job hyping it.

RVDmark 03-30-2015 11:10 PM

Crowd hyped for themselves or not, still the most entertaining match involving Big Show & Kane in a long while.

Corkscrewed 03-30-2015 11:11 PM

So based on this entire thread, I get the sense that they started RAW on the high that was an excellent WrestleMania and amazing show ending, then spent the entire rest of the show dialing it back all the way down to normal meh rest-of-the-year WWE programming. And now we're back at ho hum.

when you've been the company's whipping boy for as long as he has and mired in midcard hell your entire career, you're allowed to take moves off IMO

RVDmark 03-30-2015 11:11 PM

Hang on, the sting interview is in-ring. Cool.

Best since that one match where they randomly decided to be mat technicians and it was hilariously awkward.

Honestly Saxon killed a ton of momentum on the broadcast. May have been much better in person.

Savio 03-30-2015 11:12 PM

one of the title matches should have closed the show

Dark One 03-30-2015 11:13 PM

The show definitely climaxed at the start of Hour 2, like this:

http://i44.tinypic.com/5pihjb.jpg

Lesnar murdering everyone was obviously going to be way better than the main event. I think the show would have probably gon ea bit better had they not tried to have Byron Unisom Saxton try to pull a Joey Styles.

Cena/Ambrose was a really good match that did more for Ambrose than anything in the past four months, but, you know, you couldn't tell based on Saxton calling a fucking golf tournament.

Divas match was great, and people are starting to care.

Main event was decent, but given the rest of the show up to that point--and especially the first hour--a generic six man tag between guys where half the guys are generally greeted with apathy isn't going to compare.

All said, this is still a better 24+ hours than WWE has put out in a long long time. I'd say all of Mania and at least the first half of this show buys enough good will for them to skate by with a bit of a drop off in hour three.

Just never ever ever put Byron Saxton out there alone--or ever--again.

Emperor Smeat 03-30-2015 11:18 PM

If the idea was to sell the Lesnar carnage as a really heinous thing, doing the somber thing with Saxton was initially good. Problem was they dragged it on way too long and should have ended once King showed up.

Either have King be the one to bring back the commentary to normal or send out a new team earlier. Saxton isn't good enough yet to pull the somber style or announce by himself.

Sepholio 03-30-2015 11:18 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Pretty much. Saxton coming in didn't help matters. Have no complaints from a match standpoint, though. Ziggler/Bryan, the 8-man tag, Cena/Ambrose were all good. The divas tag dragged at bits but at least they're given proper time. Main event had its moments.

Glad Sheamus is back as a heel. He looks like an idiot, but heel Sheamus will freshen him up nicely.

I presume we're getting Rollins/Orton or Rollins/Reigns for the belt at Extreme Rules.

All told I could see myself going back to DVRing Raw so I can watch the good matches and skip through the filler. I think the PPV could be good...most of the PPVs last year delivered except for TLCS that I remember.</font>

Byron Saxton basically took a shit and then farted over the entire mood of the show.

Poit 03-30-2015 11:34 PM

Things chanted during the main event:

Worse than Cena
Don't tag Reigns
NXT
Hideo
Finn
How you doin'?
Breeze is gorgeous
Sami Zayn
Kevin Owens
We want Ryback
Same old shit
Please retire
CM Punk
This is boring
We are awesome

I did not like the last one.

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-30-2015 11:49 PM

Looks like Naomi is finally getting a title push.

Dark One 03-30-2015 11:55 PM

Tonight had two main goals, I think.

1) Write Brock Lesnar off so that people are even more feverish for him to come back and maul Seth Rollins.

2) Somehow convince the world that the usual Raw commentary team isn't that bad.

INFINITE CHECKMARKS.

Jordan 03-30-2015 11:56 PM

Byron Saxton should be fired. That was absolutely fucking horrible. Fail.

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-31-2015 12:08 AM

Since you complained about Rollins' 4 and 46 record being misleading since it included house shows

Quote:

Out of the last 50 televised/ppv matches, Seth Rollins record is 12 wins, 38 losses
Roman Reigns was 44-6 going back to August on TV PPV

GD 03-31-2015 02:48 AM

I'm not sure how the show came across on television, I had a great time. Will go through the highlights.

Jazzy Foot 03-31-2015 05:51 AM

Mr. Nerfect 03-31-2015 06:11 AM

Energetic RAW. Loved it.

* With the Divas getting time, I wouldn't be opposed to them getting to do their own Ladder Match at Extreme Rules. It'd be a novel concept, given that the main roster ladies have never had a chance to do anything of the sort.

* They'll probably do some sort of multi-man main at Extreme Rules, but at this point I'd rather they had Randy Orton face Rollins one-on-one and have Ryback & Reigns take on Big Show & Kane.

* I cannot believe just how well Kalisto went down. This was a great way to debut him. Cesaro is a fantastic choice to play against him right now. Tyson Kidd will also have great matches with him. Let them tear it up and have Lucha Dragons face Cesaro & Kidd at the PPV. Cesaro & Kidd can win that match and sell the Dragons as a major threat. They might be ready to take the titles as early as Payback, but I imagine The Usos will be back in the chase then too.

* I really want them to go further with Cena vs. Ambrose. Imagine that Chicago crowd in Ambrose's corner at Extreme Rules? Have Ambrose beat Harper in a #1 Contender's Match and have Cena be all respectful towards Ambrose, but Ambrose is all "Don't give me that, give me a fight!" Have Cena lock in the STF and choke Ambrose out at the PPV to retain.

* Rusev should have been kept off TV after his loss to Cena. Sell it like losing shook Rusev's entire world to the ground. Have him keep working on things, but also move his character into darker territory so when he is ready to return, people can buy him wanting to kill Cena.

Bad News Gertner 03-31-2015 07:10 AM

Surprised to see Ryback cheered by this crowd

#1-norm-fan 03-31-2015 07:16 AM

I'm not. He's The Ryback. Even smark crowds can't bring themselves to shit on him.

Schlomey 03-31-2015 08:18 AM

Any one here think Saxton was bad to help convey the gravity of the situation that took place?

screech 03-31-2015 08:25 AM

That's obviously what he was doing, but for fuck's sake don't pull the faux-tragedy angle on arguably the most important Raw of the year.

drave 03-31-2015 09:10 AM

Feel like Paul Heyman should have done commentary for the rest of the evening with Brock by his side. Could have made for AMAZING commentary and tense moments during the 6 man clusterfuck.

Well I think they should have done it, but only for one segment. It went on for way to long.

Yeah I felt the same way. If they're gonna do it, have it last til like the next commercial break, not a full damn hour or whatever.

Kind of ironic that they had to have King come out to comment in this situation, considering the last time (that I remember) the "somber tone" of the announcers was when King himself almost actually fucking died on commentary.

<font color=goldenrod>That was one of, if not the most uncomfortable Raws I can remember. They decided to not have any commentary out of respect for King, they only cut to Cole when he'd have updates on King's condition.

Just hearing the matches with zero commentary made it feel like you were there live. But what was really weird was when they'd show the PPV hype graphics and such and you'd just hear the PPV theme but no commentary over the top to explain the feud, etc.</font>

Incredible moment. I really loved with Rollins flipped out of the suplex then bicycle kicked Lesnar like "hell yeah", then Lesnar just bounced off the ropes and looked at him like "for real?". Amazing stuff.
