What I don't understand is Oakland/Bay Area fans. They have the 7th worst attendance in baseball this year and the fans never seem to come out for them even though they put out a solid team year in and year out. They're averaging almost 15,000 less people a game than the Giants who are garbage.

THE NEV EPISODE
 |
OK . But yah the A's are good.
HEY, FUCK YOU. If anyone should have made this thred it should have been me.
OKAKLAND F'N A'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
You're a horrible A's fan
God, I miss the bay area. I want to go to a game so bad. I think the NL West plays the AL west next year though, so I might luck out if they come to AZ.
And yeah, what Miz said. They will crush the White Sox if they meet them in the playoffs. If it's the Red Sox, then they will probly win the first 2 and lose the last 3. Like every year. The bandwagon is full Rectal Pertruder. Please leave. |

Fuck, I remember when I was a kid and the A's were terrible in the 90's. You could go to a game for something like $8. BART ride, cheap bleacher seats, and maybe a dollar hot dog night and it would be around $8 or something.
It's hard not to like the A's. I've liked them going back to the mid 70's. Expos, Jays, M's, A's. I'd say that would be my order of favourites. Minus the 'sP0s now of course.
Oh shit, something I forgot to mention.
Miz, Huston Street will not be the rookie of the Year. No doubt he's been very good for the A's this year, however: <TABLE class=ysptblclbg3 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top align=middle width=70 rowSpan=2>http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/...ers/5/7463.jpg</TD><TD colSpan=3>Gustavo Chacín #39 | Starting Pitcher | Toronto Blue Jays </TD></TR><TR vAlign=center><TD>Height: 5-11 Weight: 193 Bats: L Throws: L Born: Dec 4, 1980 - Maracaibo, Venezuela College: None Draft: None </TD><TD align=right><TABLE class=yspwhitebg cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=yspdetailttl style="BORDER-RIGHT: #f4f5f1 1px solid; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; BACKGROUND: #e2e2e2; PADDING-BOTTOM: 7px; PADDING-TOP: 7px" align=middle width=60>W-L</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl style="BORDER-RIGHT: #f4f5f1 1px solid; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; BACKGROUND: #e2e2e2; PADDING-BOTTOM: 7px; PADDING-TOP: 7px" align=middle width=60>ERA</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl style="BORDER-RIGHT: #f4f5f1 1px solid; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; BACKGROUND: #e2e2e2; PADDING-BOTTOM: 7px; PADDING-TOP: 7px" align=middle width=60>K</TD><TD class=yspdetailttl style="BORDER-RIGHT: #f4f5f1 1px solid; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; BACKGROUND: #e2e2e2; PADDING-BOTTOM: 7px; PADDING-TOP: 7px" align=middle width=60>Walks</TD><TD class="yspdetailttl padded3px" style="BACKGROUND: #e2e2e2" align=middle width=60>WHIP</TD></TR><TR><TD style="BORDER-RIGHT: #f4f5f1 1px solid" align=middle>11-5 </TD><TD style="BORDER-RIGHT: #f4f5f1 1px solid" align=middle>3.28 </TD><TD style="BORDER-RIGHT: #f4f5f1 1px solid" align=middle>76 </TD><TD style="BORDER-RIGHT: #f4f5f1 1px solid" align=middle>43 </TD><TD align=middle>1.37 </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD><TD align=middle width=95> http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/...0x60/tor_1.gif </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> Will be the AL RotY |
Chacin has been very, very good, but he is a #3 starter on a team that will not make the playoffs. Street is one of the key contributors to the resurgence of a team that most likely make the playoffs. His ERA is well under 2 and he could finish with 20-25 saves. Oakland's pen is arguably the best in the AL and he is the leader of it. Sorry but there is no pressure starting in Toronto on a .500 team. Street is 21 and was brought in to replace Octavio Dotel as the Oakland A's closer and has been unbelievable. Chacin = very good Street = excellent
I say you're wrong, however, we shall see.
The only chance he has of losing it is if his teamate Nick Swisher takes away some of his votes. If by the end of the season his statline looks something like 21/26 sv, 1.85, 70+ ip it will be hard to argue.

You know though, at least Giambi was open about his steroid usage, all the credit to him for that. |
21 non roided homerssssss
And like, 20 in 3 weeks
That's an exaggeration, btw.
yeah, its more like 20 in 4
How do you know they arent roided?
<font color=goldenrod>Was at the Mets game today....pretty upsetting loss, don't know what the fuck Willie was doing putting 40-year old Roberto Hernandez in for a 4th straight game but oh well, they blew it
It was funny, in the 8th my dad and I moved down from the 1st base side upper deck to the 3rd base side mezzanine just in time to see Dae-Sung Koo give up a hit to a lefty, then Willie pulled him and the crowd in the section praised him for it.....only for them to announce Danny Graves as the new pitcher 30 seconds later and they started cursing him again  Mad crazy scoring though, 36 hits, 21 runs......got to see a Beltran dinger (about friggin time), a Piazza dinger/5 RBI game (memorable since it's probably his last year with the team), and a MAMMOTH Cameron shot that, had it not hit the top of the camera tower, would have gone an estimated 460 feet  Plus it was the longest 9-inning game in Shea history (4 hours, 9 minutes) so all in all it was still a great time  SSSSS @ Stros losing to the D-Backs</font> |

Oh right I forgot, you can tell if someone is roided or not just by looking at them
LOL get out of my face
I think Ichiro is on roids |
Did you think any of these guys were on roids?
Ryan Franklin Rafael Betancourt Jorge Piedra Alex Sanchez Jamal Strong Juan Rincon Agustin Montero None of them are very big |
Even though I am a huge Red Sox fan I highly doubt Giambi is still on 'roids. Not only would he be laughed out of the sport if he got caught again, he also had some serious health issues from steroid side effects.
I also doubt he is still on roids but to be 100% certain is ridiculous.
Oh well, even steroids can't help him stop sucking massive penis at first base |
LOL Derek Lowe is cheating on his wife
gotta story you can post?
LOL been all over the Boston Herald. Also had a huge headline "BOOZE DID LOWE IN WHEN PLAYING FOR BOSTON" on the front page.
What an idiot. At first I read it as Derek Lee. I was thinking "Jesus Christ, a little bit of fame and BAM...." Glad it was only Lowe, sucks for the wife and kids though.
LOL Shea Hillenbrand stole home. Go Yankees!
Damn Twins
Man the Red Sox blew that one. 3-3 game in the 9th, Cuddyer gets a base hit and goes to second on Bill Mueller throwing error, then scores after Mike Timlin throws the ball away after a bunt :o
Man. The Jays just seem to have Randy Johnson's number this year. I LOVE IT
Fucking Sox blew it. David Wells pitched real good too
<font color=goldenrod> @ how well Jae Seo pitched today...........shame they didn't call him up to replace Ishii in the rotation 2 and a half months ago</font> :(
I wish I didn't hate the Twins, because last nights would have been a good game to watch
I still stand strong that the White Sox don't have what it takes to win in the playoffs though. Garland will get his shiite rocked, I guarantee it. |
They can make it to the ALCS if they play the crappy Angels. Boston or Oakland? No chance
Oakland needs to get out of the ALDS this year, that was rediculous the other year when they were up 2-0 on Boston and then lost. Then before that didn't they lose like three straight to the Yankees?
Oakland is in 1st now. haha.
It's Angles vs Oakland next too. This should help NY |
ZAMBRANO VS ZAMBRANO
I was just thinking about how awesome the Yankee rotation would be if it were 1995 and not 2005
1. Randy Johnson: 18-2, 2.48 2. Mike Mussina: 19-9, 3.29 3. Hideo Nomo: 13-6, 2.54 4. Kevin Brown: 10-9, 3.60 5. Al Leiter: 11-11, 3.64 :'( |
lol nice
The ALDS that year was excellent. Edgar had a walk-off double against Jack McDowell in game 5.
I remember this photo in 2001
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/bas...iano_ap-01.jpg Some 9th inning walk off by Soriano |
but that ALDS thing did make me cry. I remember being in a car listening to the radio when it happened. And then seeing Griffey scoring later on at home from the news :nono:
Quote:
Giambi held that big press conference to apologize for "something he couldn't talk about" |
Yeah 2001 was the Yankees year for walk offs
Not funny? This guys laughing http://sportsmed.starwave.com/media/...gonzalez_i.jpg |
yea, I can't really say anything more about the M's in the playoffs. Kind of limited here.
The Yankees arent making the playoffs in 2005 so you better get your jokes out while you can

You don't have to be picky about it, everybody knows what he meant.
Everybody else is flat out denying it, and from what I gather everybody believes the excuses. "Latin players can't read bottles" "I didn't know I took it" shit like that, if steroids are such a problem then why are all the people getting caught the ones doing them unintentionally? Giambi didn't make up some bullshit about taking the wrong supplement or anything, and Scot likes that in a man. I'll go along with him. |
<font color=goldenrod>LOL, in just 6 games with Triple-A Pawtucket, Mark Bellhorn has a .115 AVG and 9 K's.....Sox would be retarded if they start him over Graffanino or Cora</font>
The key is 6 games. They can leave him in Pawtucket for about 20 more days before they have to cut him. If he's still hitting below Mendoza then than he's gone but I doubt that will happen. Bellhorn is obviously more talented than Graffanino and Cora but at this point they will make a better contrubtion. But Bellhorn is 30 now and if he isn't getting his usual OBP numbers no one will want him
Can anybody be bothered to explain the rules of baseball to me?I tried watching on channel 5 last night and got too confused to be bothered with it.
And how many games do they play a season? Wait, wtf am i doing asking about baseball..
162 games over 6 months
Holy shit. 162 games? How do they have enough time for that amount? And how do they stay fit?Oh yeah that's it, steroids!
yea, every player takes steroids.
I wouldn't doubt that atleast half of them do. But seriously, do they play a game every day or something?162 games is alot to fit in 6 months.
They play every day, 2 or 3 off days a month

Pretty much a guaranteed spot on the Sportscenter top 10</font> |
Yeah, WTF. A's :(

Too bad the Angels still aren't very good
LOL you fucking see that kid that fell into the net at Yankee Stadium? hahaha he fell from the upperdeck

Best team in the AL, dont care what anyone else says, cuz I am correct. |
Kenny Rogers suspension shortened to 13 games by an arbitrator. I skimmed through the article, but I agree with what Selig said.
Quote:
I am sick of hearing about it honestly. Also Bud Selig is never right - lets get serious haha
Quote:
Also I could care less about Kenny Rogers, the additon of him turns the Rangers pitching from awful to very very bad. The Rangers aren't contenders anymore (well they never were but people get boners over their home run hitting) so it doesn't matter.
Renteria made 2 more errors tonight but came through with the game winning hit. I don't know what his deal is in the field, my brother brought up Knublock (sp?) :| :| I hope not..
Quote:
I know. |
I hope the first pitch Kenny Rogers pitches is hit straight up the middle and hits him in the head, ala Matt Clement. That way, I would know the Karma machine isn't broken.

If you haven't seen it yet, I'm pretty sure there's a vid on Mets.com or MLB.com of it, I'm still like  just seeing it</font> |
Felix Hernandez is the greatest pitcher in the history of the world
The Twins are just awful too though. Its stupid because coming into this season, they were supposed to be the best team yet. Two ace pitchers, no real holes in the batting order, all that. Even into midseason they were standing strong, our record was better then last years up even until near the all-star break. The whole breakdown of this team was mental, the White Sox were so far ahead, everybody even here gave them wildcard at best chances, and confidence fizzled. Once Morneau cooled off it was basically over, and Johan was pretty much a choke after about a month into the season.
Thats not trying to give an excuse for Hernandez though, the Twins obviously still have a potent enough lineup to beat the average rookie pitcher, but he completely shut them down. He deserves the credit up to this point. |
The Twins suck major penis, but there's nothing else to get excited about up here.
Felix = Bartolo Colon, except Felix is not a huge ugly bastard. |
The Twins have to buy a veteran for next year. Losing Corey Koskie shouldn't be that detremental, he was like a 270 hitter with 20 homers and 30 missed games. He was simply a locker room presence, but his absense seems to be the biggest reason for our collapse.
Jacque Jones is basically not coming back, plain and simple. He was going to be traded before last year until the outfield prospect who was to take his place ruined his knee for the year. Now he is going to walk as a free agent and Torii and Shannon will be the only players with experience. If we don't sign a good shortstop, thirdbaseman, or right fielder, things aren't going to get any better next year. Damn. |
Sox and Tigers are teams to beat in the central in '06 IMO. That is if the Tigers can get any pitching past Bonderman
Yeah Bonderman has been pretty sick, but don't forget about Cleveland either
Manny is so rediculous, two men on and of course he jacks it
