CHoP wasn't so bad tonight.

Innovator 04-07-2010 10:46 PM

A-Rod, A-Bomb. DO IT

Innovator 04-07-2010 10:47 PM

Darn.

Evil Vito 04-07-2010 10:56 PM

3B Coach has to be the worst job in the league. You only get talked about if you fuck up.

Case in point, Fernando Tatis and Chip Hale team up to run the Mets out of an inning. Fuck.

Droford 04-07-2010 10:59 PM

Os lose 4-3 again.

Wasted a good start from the worst pitcher in baseball last year.

Innovator 04-07-2010 11:05 PM

GRANDERSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON

FakeLaser 04-07-2010 11:06 PM

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Evil Vito 04-07-2010 11:25 PM

LOL Leo Nunez balks in the tying run

Loose Cannon 04-08-2010 12:18 AM

Mr Curtis Granderson has left the building

Evil Vito 04-08-2010 12:29 AM

God damn. Really torn on tonight's game. Mets were down 6-1 and showed a shitload of fight, worked out a load of walks, had the Marlins 'pen nervous as fuck, and tied it. Then Hisanori Takahashi goes on and gives up a run in the 10th to lose it, making the comeback meaningless.

Probably as gutting as an April loss could be, but ah well. Mets should just put a ban on Asian players at this point. They never work out in Queens.

MVP 04-08-2010 01:12 AM

Red Sox offense didn't turn it on tonight when they needed to. People are calling into the local sports station panicking about Ortiz and how he should be benched for Lowell just because he's started the season 1-11. I'm willing to give him a month as the primary DH for the team, which is more than a lot of people will say, and if he is still behind on fastballs and hitting poorly, then he should platoon with Lowell or Hermida if Lowell is traded.

Solid outing by Lackey tonight. :y:

Emperor Smeat 04-08-2010 01:18 AM

Starting pitching these last 2 games has been great and after the 1st 2-3 innings Beckett's start was decent as well. More concerned over the bullpen though especially with Papelbon since he needs to get better.

Told you, Granderson is a stud.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-08-2010 01:40 AM

Reds bullpen has given up 11 runs in the first two games. PLAYOFFS

Boomer 04-08-2010 01:43 AM

Went to the Braves game tonight. Glaus looks lost at the plate, but the end result was awesome. Was in left for Chipper's homer. Braves fans are getting pumped right now...its crazy. Still wish we could match the intensity of other team's fans.

Could you please tell me what Ortiz said to the press? Cause on my Cell phone it said that Ortiz "Lashed Out" at the press. Probably for asking a question about Lowell being the DH. Which I don't think should happen. Give Ortiz a break.

"Good," he said, turning to face the reporters encircling him. "You guys wait 'til [expletive] happens, then you can talk [expletive]. Two [expletive] games, and already you [expletives] are going crazy.

"What's up with that, man? [Expletive]. [Expletive] 160 games left. That's a [expletive]. One of you [expletives] got to go ahead and hit for me."

MVP 04-08-2010 10:20 AM

As soon as Ortiz has a 2-4 game with a HR, most of them will shut up.

YOUR Hero 04-08-2010 11:14 AM

Lots of people jumping on the Vernon Wells bandwagon.

Hope it lasts.

Evil Vito 04-08-2010 12:07 PM

Phillies claim Nelson Figueroa. There will almost certainly be at least one game this season where letting Nelson goes bites the Mets right in the ass.

Choosing Igarashi and Green over him :nono:

Loose Cannon 04-08-2010 12:17 PM

are they seriously getting on Ortiz already?

The red sox fans have gim a standing ovation for a single yesterday

Jeritron 04-08-2010 01:53 PM

By "they" he meant the writers, not the fans

Innovator 04-08-2010 02:27 PM

Writers fill Fenway while wearing pink Boston hats?

Innovator 04-08-2010 02:31 PM

On that subject, pink baseball hats drive me nuts. OMG ITS A PINK HAT WITH THE NY, SO CUTE. OMG PINK BOSTON HAT JACOBY SEES ME IN THIS HES MINE.

Dragon 04-08-2010 02:47 PM

Apparently the chief ump for the Yankees/Sox series called both teams "emabrassing, a disgrace to baseball" and "pathetic and embarassing. They take too long to play."

Weird way to put it. If baseball really has a problem with times of games they can cut down on some of the stuff - taking forever to step in the box or the mound, trips to the mound, etc...but even after those things the games will still be long because both teams have a ton of patient hitters. No matter who the Yankees play they take forever because of this.

ClockShot 04-08-2010 04:28 PM

Last night it ended at a pretty good time. About average, maybe a touch longer due to extra innings.

Tuesday there was no fucking excuse.

There are already rules for stepping out and in between pitches, but rarely is that enforced. If the umps started calling the closer high pitches as strikes (expand the K zone) that would cause a faster game as well.

McLegend 04-08-2010 08:37 PM

Raul Ibanez looks terrible.

Droford 04-08-2010 10:53 PM

Im not one to complain about umps giving calls to the Os here and there but it seems like the Umps have consistently blown calls the whole series in favor of them.

RP 04-09-2010 08:08 AM

The CubS are on the board!

Evil Vito 04-09-2010 08:42 AM

Jose Reyes will return from the disabled list on Saturday.

FUCK YEAH.

Evil Vito 04-09-2010 11:45 AM

SUITE DEALS

Players whose contracts stipulate they get a hotel suite on the road:

•Braves: Chipper Jones, Derek Lowe

•Brewers: Ryan Braun, Trevor Hoffman

•Cardinals: Ryan Franklin, Matt Holliday, Kyle Lohse, Brad Penny

•Cubs: Carlos Zambrano, Carlos Silva, Aramis Ramirez, Alfonso Soriano

•Diamondbacks: Dan Haren, Justin Upton, Brandon Webb, Chris Young

•Dodgers: Manny Ramirez

•Giants: Barry Zito

•Indians: Travis Hafner, Kerry Wood

•Mariners: Eric Byrnes, Chone Figgins, Milton Bradley

•Mets: Jason Bay, Carlos Beltran, Jose Reyes, Francisco Rodriguez, Johan Santana, David Wright

•Nationals: Jason Marquis, Ryan Zimmerman

•Orioles: Miguel Tejada

•Padres: Jon Garland, David Eckstein

---

A-Rod, Jeter, and Pujols not having it shocks me. Mind, I'm guessing many of the big-name players stay in suites anyway even if it's not explicitly written into their contracts.

Jeritron 04-09-2010 11:49 AM

lol at half the Mets roster having it

Innovator 04-09-2010 11:50 AM

Well I'm pretty sure CC doesn't fit in anything less than a suite

Loose Cannon 04-09-2010 12:21 PM

yea, that's just in thier contract. Jeter and A-ROD are probably just guranteed suites to begin with

Jeritron 04-09-2010 12:24 PM

Seems like a lot of the people who have it are those who have signed new contracts very recently. It might be a new thing

Loose Cannon 04-09-2010 12:26 PM

I've never stayed in a suite, but I always picture Home Alone 2 as to what it would be like. Just free junk food everywhere. lol

Triple Naitch 04-09-2010 03:02 PM

Fucking Carlos Silva is big ballin'.
