"Hey, Warrior. Can we call you War? Tell you what, you do the HOF in 2012 and we'll give you an achievement in a video game. Sound good?"

Over the Top 15
Won a Steel Cage match. === So the cage is in, but the graphic they used was the chain link fencing. Hope the big blue cage is in. |
Full DLC released in this trailer

Austin has the Stun Gun. Awesome. Also, this is the first video I've seen an arena other than the All Stars one. |

Really selling me on the game. Also shows what I thought initially, that pins are actually cut scenes and the game is KO/damage based. Unless there are also pins. Also, old school HBK attire. Edit: Another match that ends in KO: <object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FKgnvC9Sr04?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FKgnvC9Sr04?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object> Edit again: More gameplay, shows cage match gameplay. <object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/foQ1qFe9N6w?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/foQ1qFe9N6w?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object> |
They coulda added some more old school wrestlers instead of scrubs like McIntyre or K-kwik

I was going to ask if pins are break-able but after watching those videos, it looks like pins don't occur until the match is already over so it wouldn't matter if it can or can't be broken. |
I'm sure I saw a video where Kofi pinned somebody with the SOS during normal gameplay.
|
In the HHH vs Cena video, at 3:26, the command menu says "gegner pinnen" which is German for "pin the opponent". So pinning is in and it's mapped to the left trigger.
We also see weapons are in the game because there is an "obeject search" (objekt suchen) command on the move list. |

Explains the molten hands screen shot from a few days ago. They're for the charged punch. Also, weapons in this video. |
Go play a WWE All Stars Facebook QTE game and share it. If it's shared enough, a new, free DLC wrestler will unlock and he's apparently "worth the effort".

Shows some alternate costumes, including Purple Gloved Taker and the tie dyed red and yellow tights Hogan. |
This game looks like a blast. Love the roster and amount of costumes I'm seeing.
I guess in that department my only complaint would be that I'd rather see a few more guys like Diesel and Goldberg, or whoever, over McIntyre or R Truth who just feel like a waste/filler. But obviously it's harder to secure legends and they are trying for some generational balance. As it is, the roster is much more satisfying than any other I've ever seen in a WWE game (when it comes to legends and current stars alike) |
I could see this as a new Franchise if it does well.
|
Probably just that Diesel was in TNA when they were securing the roster.
|
WWE's nostalgia market is undertapped. They do a lot with it, but still not nearly what they could.
I think they underestimate the novelty/interest that people have in "old school" WWF. Particularly the people who don't have interest (or won't admit to having interest) in the current product. Retro is cool. Especially in wrestling. I think perhaps WWE is a little weary about pushing the past too hard over the present, because of how they think it may stack up. They do try to keep an eye on the current and future as to not put themselves up shit creek without future generations. |
I can't believe they have only just started making vintage style apparel. And it's mostly event or company based only.
They need to go superstar specific. |
Yeah, but the actual videogame is probably not expected to do terribly huge numbers. SvR was only doing a little over a million copies sold each year. Probably more to do with having the same game over and over than wrestling generally being less popular. Hopefully they actually put more effort into these games and go on an alternating 2 year dev cycle.
|
I'm just speaking broadly on the novelty of the nostalgia.
But it's also nice to see them switching the game style up too. It was to the point where there was just no difference in the games from year to year. It will be interesting to see what they do with a sequel to this game, if it comes. |
Why isn't Goldust in this game?
|
Game is geared for kids maybe? Shattered Dreams was always, in my opinion, the most painful looking move in wrestling.
|
Why do fighting games always have as few strength based characters as possible? There's always tons of speedy types or technical/combo types but only ever 2 or 3 characters based on strength.
I'm not asking for strength characters to make up the majority of the roster of this game or any other fighting game but it would be nice if there was at least a fair number compared to the other types. |

This doesn't look that bad, now that I've seen those videos. I didn't watch all of them throughout, though.
Are tables in the game? If they have the physics like they did in SvR011 where if you do a move and the table is there then you go through it. The tables would make an awesome addition. So would ladders. |
Demo is coming on the 22nd, might be worth a download.

BTW, you should try out Tekken 6. Got a feeling you'd be pretty beastly with the Kings, Dragunov and Marduk. |

WWE and THQ holding a promotion where if enough people on Facebook download and share the WWE All-Stars Fantasy Warfare App, THQ will give away a DLC wrestler for free for everyone who buys the game.

Been busy filling out the NCAA bracket and just did a quick post for the DLC news. I should have checked more than just the last few posts. |
Fuck that shit I'm not going to do potentially unpaid marketing work for them
|
They'll release it either way.
I mean, what are they going to do? Say "Yeah, you didn't do enough, fuck you, it's $50 for R Truth now. Way to go, guys". Guaranteeing it's R-Truth, FTR. |
I was thinking Alberto Del Rio maybe.
|
I thought R Truth was already announced
|
Booker-T or Kevin Nash would make more sense.
|
I got out of the announcement that it was just a random DLC, not a new one. And Truth is announced as DLC.
Couldn't be Nash or Booker either way. They'd need months to get them into the game. |
When did Nash leave TNA though? I thought his contract expired around Oct 2010?
|
Quote:
I don't think Nash has a Legends contract with the WWE like Hogan and a few others have which explains why the WWE can use classic Hogan even when Hogan is with another company. |
