Working the midnight launch tonight for CoD, in a mall store mind you, and the 8 of us working tonight are all wearing Battlefield 3 shirts to the launch of this game. It's likely going to cause a major bitchfest, but my boss is all for and so are we.

Install sizes revealed with the non-mandatory sizes being just 50 MB on the PS3 and 4.7 GB for a full install on the Xbox 360.

I'm over in the States just now - saw like 20 people queuing outside a pretty small Gamestop at around 6:30pm, presumably for this. Seems a bit sad, really.

Decided I won't be getting this, at least right away.

Having second thoughts as well. The time I have to play online isn't what it used to be. Dunno if It'd be worth it. Might be better off using the money toward something else.

My boss worked out a trade with the guys at GameStop a couple doors down from us. They claimed other stores had "donated" pizza to other GameStops in the city but he refused to just hand over free food. So instead they paid for 6 pizzas and got 16, and he got MW3 at 8pm. Didn't see him again after the pizzas were delivered.

Had some people BBQing it up at one Game Stop. Walked by around the shopping center at 8:30 and GameStop displayed their TV w/ the PS3 console outside and witness a few 1v1 gaming of MW3...looks identical to MW2

Here is the reason I am not going to pick up this game for the first bit at least.

As you probably know if you ever seen me in a CoD thread, you know I play MP competitively and to test my skill and see where I place against other people who play.

But when the leaderboards are hacked and the a lot of the ones who didn't hack their stats used glitches and cheats you really can't measure yourself properly.

So I guess you play for a good K/D ratio or Win/Loss record (yeah, there might be 3-4 people out there who try for this) Blitz or someone will quote this message saying I am flipping out when I am only stating the reasons I do not wish to purchase it. A large argument will ensue telling me to not buy and how the person never sees any cheating at all.
The problem with this is, if I wanted to put my K/D over 5.0 at the start, it would only be as simple as starting a domination game and spamming a capture point for kills by camping and killing anymore who comes along or at least that was the way in MW2.

About the only real measure is Win/Loss ratio and K/D ratio together but the problem with that is, you can still be a wretched player who plays on good teams and look good because of it.

So with no real concrete measure of how good you are at the game, really I would only be playing it to pass the time as the end goal of hitting the end of prestige is not much of a goal but an indication of how much time you spent playing (Or in most cases, where you found the hack)

I love playing online with people, it is fun but I really do not see the point in spending $70 on a game which given past history will be broken and full of cheating and glitches given that its Activision.

How are you just now coming to this realization?

And not just about call of duty. Video games in general.

With CoD, you can compare absolutely nothing to any other person unless you know them personally and know they didn't cheat to get what they have. That is what I am trying to say here.

I suppose you CAN compare amongst your friends to see how good you are and that I think would be the sole reason I would purchase this game I think.

As for games in general, Yes, they are only past times but with single player/multiplayer offline stories the goal is the completion of the story and enjoying what you are doing along the way.

There is a less gratifying feeling when it comes to getting golden guns in BlOps because alot of people had them and you werent sure if it was due to skill or hacking.

lol @ the idea of getting gold guns/doing prestige takes any skill what so ever. All it takes is time FA. The worst Black Ops player in the world could of gotten to their 14th prestige.

My point is, how do you measure how good you are at this game? Since Activision has historically done little to nothing to deter cheaters.

Played some survival before I called it quits. Gonna spend a lot of time on it, love it.

Kill Confirmed in ground war. The AK-47 not being unlocked till like rank 78 or some ridiculous shit. Only played for 45 minutes or so, gonna have to play more first.

How does Kill Confirmed work?

K been playing for the last 4 and a half hours or so. It's good. Spent a bit of time with campaign and it's suitably epic, I look forward to finishing it.

Multiplayer...I don't know quite how to describe it. Obviously it's COD. But there's a different, more customizable feel. It's tough to talk about play patterns when the game has only been out a few hours, but right now I feel like stealth perks are almost indispensable. UAVs are everywhere. And the reason for that is, support strike package all the way. Assault strike package feels almost useless unless you're really good at stringing kills without dying. There's some pretty good stuff in the support one. Expect to see A LOT of advanced UAVs. I shudder to think what a really good, co-ordinated team can do with this new style. Would be scary.

Ummmmm....Stalker and Recon are pretty useful perks. UMP with Blind Eye/Quick Draw/Stalker is my go to class at the moment. Not much to say about the maps yet, they're all sort of blending together still. But yeah overall, I'm definitely digging it. Could see it becoming my favourite COD.

And no Fallen Angel, I haven't noticed any gamebreaking glitches.

Got it, like it. Survival Mode is mad fun. The first level of Campaign was fucking badass. Lots of customizable shit in MP. I like Kill Confirmed. This game should hold my attention well into next year.
