1 word, addicting.

D Mac 12-29-2007 06:15 AM

Well I got my money back on the drums from ebay and went ahead and bought the full set.

Drums take a little getting used to. Getting a little bit better. Still having trouble with the foot pedal and hitting a beat at the same time. Fun shit tho.

Kalyx triaD 12-29-2007 11:32 AM

Playing drums on expert is very satisfying. Some songs are pretty wild, though. Look up the Transformers Movie Theme by Lion and replicate the drum pattern with your hand as a snare, keys for hats, and your hand again as a fist for the kick drum. That's how I practiced using my foot on the drums way back when. Sounds crazy til you try it.

Evil Vito 12-29-2007 11:34 AM

Still on Medium drums...but I'm mostly 5-starring everything and when I 4-star something I miss 5 by a couple of notes

Only song that's gotten me is Seven, some crappy bonus song. Killed me for some reason and I only 3-starred it.

Evil Vito 12-29-2007 01:15 PM

Finally failed my first song on Medium: Green Grass and High Tides :(

That fast part in the middle just killed me, I lost my sequence and couldn't get it back

D Mac 12-30-2007 05:13 PM

Got wasted last night and used the mic and sung my ass off. Fun shit. The mic works great on this.

Kalyx triaD 01-01-2008 10:36 PM

Three new tracks up.

Blitz 01-01-2008 10:45 PM

Since Kalyx triaD is too good to post what the tracks actually are, they are:

Gimme Three Steps by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Hard To Handle by The Black Crowes
Limelight as made famous by Rush

Fignuts 01-01-2008 10:45 PM

Limelight by rush, and Gimme three steps by skynard are freakin awesome.

More rush please. Prefferably the entire 2112 overture.

Kane Knight 01-01-2008 11:00 PM

Got Rush and Skynyrd. More Rush would be nice. More Skynyrd, too.

More Bowie, too.

And some Queen, FFS.

I also bought "Move Along," for anyone who wants to point and laugh at me having anAAR track.

But Rush and Skynyrd = ratings

Fignuts 01-02-2008 12:48 AM

Move along is actually pretty fun, as is the kill by 30 seconds to mars.

Kane Knight 01-02-2008 01:06 AM

I think I'm gonna find myself buying several songs that I probably wouldn't listen to, but enjoy within the context of the game.

I know the AAR songs, but don't the 30STM ones, so I was hesistant to DL them. I try and stick to songs I know, since I know I'll enjoy them. And Move Along seemed like it'd be fun and worth the "risk."

D Mac 01-02-2008 06:39 PM

Hard to Handle is good too. Love that song.

D Mac 01-02-2008 06:39 PM

So when are the full albums coming? Need that Metallica Black ASAP

Kalyx triaD 01-02-2008 07:26 PM

They're not saying.

Black was never confirmed. Whoever told you that didn't know what they wrer talking about.

And they never said there would be a full metallica almbum. Just that they had the rights to do 15 songs.

So far we've got 4, plus the upcoming single from their new album which makes 5.

D Mac 01-02-2008 09:35 PM

All I know is they had better have Nothing Else Matters.

The fifteen tracks was confirmed after the four tracks, and the wording makes me think the new single isn't a part of it. Just saying.

Nothing actually confirmed on the Black album, though. Though TBH, if they released that, it'd pretty much be all the Met I need.

OssMan 01-02-2008 10:52 PM

I played this. I sang the Pixies and Garbage cause I am a girl. They kept failing me for singing off pitch. Oh well/

Fignuts 01-02-2008 11:05 PM

Master of puppets would be better imo.

Kane Knight 01-04-2008 11:57 PM

I want a Cars pack.

These aren't exactly incredibly hard songs but:

Just What I Needed
Moving in Stereo
Not Tonight (The New Cars)

Exclusive Rock Band DLC in February OXM
Three new tracks bundled on DVD with magazine.
By Andrew Hayward, 01/03/2008

The staff of the Official Xbox Magazine has announced that its February 2008 issue, available in stores on January 15th, will include a trio of exclusive playable tracks for the Xbox 360 version of Rock Band on its pack-in DVD. The disc will contain the following songs:

Bang Camaro - "Rock Rebellion"
Count Zero - "Shake"
Freezepop - "Sprode"

All three bands have made appearances in previous Harmonix-developed titles, with other tracks from Bang Camaro and Freezepop already included on the Rock Band retail disc. OXM Editor-in-Chief Francesca Reyes told Joystiq this morning that the tracks can be downloaded onto the hard drive for use with Rock Band, thus eliminating the need to use the disc after the data transfer.

No word yet on availability of the exclusive tracks for PlayStation 3 owners.

-Great, I have to snag an overpriced mag I won't even read for new tracks. Nice one, Mike Soft.

It was due in "Q1 2008" which was supposed to be March, now the developers are simply saying "2008" for the PAL release.

Blitz 01-15-2008 01:57 AM

This week's DLC:

"Last Train to Clarksville" as made famous by the Monkees
"Action" as made famous by Sweet
"All The Small Things" by Blink 182
