WHAT A FUCKING FINISH! Oh.......replay time
What a weird ending though
If their looking interference I think they're shit outt luck. Edwin slid straight into second
BAG GAWD THEY'VE DONE IT!.
Odor makes a good throw its inning over. He knocks out Bautista, Jays knock him and Texas out. |
God what a fucking finish. Jesus I love baseball.
YES!!!!! ALCS baby!
Time to waste a lot of champagne again, and no doubt get champagne/beer all over various cameras/mics.....
Somebody call Drebin
Somebody call my momma
Happy thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends I have on here, btw.
Fuck man this ending pumped me up. Might go outside and throw the whiffle ball around. |
Donaldson with the hustle play, and Odor poetically eating shit on a double play. Would feel bad for Matt Bush because what a fucking hero, but you're on the wrong team bud.
Unreal. Like Damo said, it's not the best teams who advance, it's the team who is hot with the best fortune. 3 weeks ago, Jays were on the fucking brink. |
The better team always wins.
My cousin had Texas nailed from the onset even before the wildcard game. Said they were a massively lucky team as proven by their runs for and against stat.
Unlike the Orioles, they're peaking at the right time.
*WARNING: ANALYTICAL BASED COMMENT COMING* I never thought the Rangers were that good. Much like the Orioles, their run differential wasn't very good and my belief is you can't outrun barely outscoring your opponent. Especially when you hit the playoffs. Texas got to beat up on the sorry Angels and Athletics. Toronto beat up on the Rays but every other team in their division was in the hunt. And the Rangers, while deserving because the game ain't won on paper, were not, imo, as good as the other division winners or Toronto. I thought they matched up well with Baltimore, a similarly constructed team. But not Toronto, who yielded a strong rotation and deep as fuck lineup. |
I've never seen the Jays catch all the luck like that before, everything seemed to work in their favour.

The Rays always own the Jays. Especially at the Trop. No matter how bad they are. I have nightmare of Joe Kennedy killing the Jays.
And now Kennedy is dead. Serves him right. |

That type of baseball magic can work in the playoffs but only if the rotation is lights out great and not just because of some really great luck going their way. |
Texas has a pretty damned good bullpen. And Darvish with Hammels at the top of your rotation gives you some strength at the top of the rotation.
Everything that possibly could have gone wrong for them went wrong and the Jays ambushed them. They were asleep for game 1 and the Jays had been playing essentially what were elmination games for the better part of 3 weeks. Game 2 was like the weirdest fucking thing I've seen with Darvish serving up meatballs and game 3, Lewis wasn't the guy for the job. They got to Sanchez, but it was a close enough game, and the Jays bullpen while not particularly deep, can compete... and they were in enough of a hole where they couldn't afford a mistake, and Rougy Odor screwed the pooch. |
I wonder how many Rangers fans still have nightmares of Game 6 of the 2011 World Series. That game convinced me that they will never ever win a World Series.
1run magic is impossible to control and near as much to repeat. I remember Showalter getting chapped at Brian Kenny for saying his team wouldn't repeat some ridiculous 1 run record they had and Showalter seemed to think it had to do with how the team was built.
Good on Texas for getting there. |
Definitely saw some cracks in the foundation. I think they also psyched themselves out with all the bullshit with the Jays.
I dunno. I'm sure it was talked about but i try not to think about that stuff. Toronto was just a better built club and in this case the better team won. Been a fun October so far.
Jays looked about a billion times better in this series than they did in the ALDS last year.
I'm hoping Cleveland takes a steaming dump on Boston tomorrow. Cleveland is so fun to watch. And I can like Andrew Miller now since he's not on the Yankees.
Haha not really invested in that series to be honest.
game 1 was a hell of a game. game 2 was interesting because of the david price eating chode in the playoffs drama.

Indians winning it all baby. GO INDIAN GO!
The Cubs are going to get destroyed tonight. I'm going to have to medicate myself to make it through.
Hey man if Hammels can get pummelled like he did so can MadBum against the Cubs juggernaught.

A little Blue Jays homerism mixed with some impressive fortune telling from back in August. The only real dickhead on the Rangers is Sam Dyson. He is honestly a fucking jerk. He's such a little wang in all of his interviews. |
Quote:
Ehh Hammel isnt even in the rotation for the Cubs this series. Not sure what you're on about.

makes more sense lol
Indians finish off the Red Sox tonight..they will beat the Jays in 5. Book it.
Indians should be able to handle the Jays, but stranger things have happened than the Jays beating the Indians.
Regardless, Baltimore didn't even get a sniff, so haha fuck you |
I think the rainout yesterday definitely helps Boston in this series. I could easily see them coming back and winning.
Nope. No team in the east other than Baltimore is any good. Baltimore still wins the world series.
Maybe something crazy happens and the Orioles fire Buck. Guaranteed World Series next year.
Buck Showalter is the greatest manager in the history of Major League Baseball and has been running an uncrowned dynasty.
I am absolutely stunned that Buck Showalter is only 60 years old.

Showalter has never won the big one. He's too in love with himself.
The fact that I called the Red Sox getting swept last week makes this pretty awesome
I don't like the Dodgers but god dammit...I don't want Murph to be one step away from going to the World Series again.
One of my fellow Mets fan friends texted me immediately after the Mets loss last week "I guarantee the Nats win the World Series now, that's just how these things go."
Hope he's wrong. |
Nats are huge chokers just remember that

As a Jays fan, believe me, we would love this sweep to happen, because we replaced Mr. 230 mil with the bargain that was J. Happ, who already in a start where he had to battle, was more effective than David Price ever was in the post season, and had a far better regular season. Price didn't do himself any favours with the "saving my playoff wins for Boston" comment. Obviously it was benign and he is a very nice man who'd never slight anyone... but to look where he's at now, it's made him into a bit of a joke. Spilchuk is currently in a closet, surrounded by his own feces. Jays have already over achieved after their woeful September where they went limpdicked. Everything for the fans at this point is a bonus.... plus, at least our team isn't Baltimore. |

It feels like Droford actually placed a bet on the Blue Jays after the Wild Card game and is now attempting to reverse jinx it into cashing in at all costs.
lol best part is if Cleveland beats Boston then beats Jays, Droford will take credit as though he had done it.
He's just mad Baltimore blew a 4 game lead and his brilliant manager blew it.
Can't wait till the Yankees sign Machado and Droford gets to see him shit on Baltimore every year
oh man this ninth inning is going to have me shitting myself. Really want the cleveland sweep so Jays and Cleveland both go in a bit cold.
plus Boston's failure will thrill me.
Don't really care who wins. But I'm excited to watch.
Btw the postseason coverage outside of Bob Costas has beenl awful.
oh yeah. I don't mind Ron Darling, but it's pretty woeful. As I've said, Dennis Eckersley is a god damned embarrassment as a commentator.
He sucks. Whoever they've had doing play by play has sucked.
Darling is actually pretty good. Don't care for Ripken. At least Joe Morg....oh....I mean....Harold Reynolds isn't in the booth. |
lmfao
Cody Allen is all nerves right now. Makes me thankful that Osuna is a serial killer.
Tis a shame Ortiz can't k to end the game
shutup Droford you're jinxing the indians.
Indians are totally gonna blow it now.

what did you think would happen when the Jays played Texas, jackass?
I'm pretty sure there's no one in Cleveland who would have predicted a 3 game sweep
Cleveland in 5 over the Jays
:-\ Red Sox got swept. Between this series and the end of the season, Sox won just 1 game since the Rays series.
:wavesad: Big Papi. |
Either Toronto or Cleveland will be in the World Series. That's pretty wild.
Jays are going to destroy the Tribe
Seeya Boston! Now you can get back to writing about how the world owes you another Super Bowl.
Can't wait for the press conference 47th Machado at Yankee stadium, where he professes he's always been a Yankees fan and gets to live out a childhood dream. It's gonna be a Kodak moment
JAKE FUCKING ARRIETA!
Hey Droford, who'd he used to play for? |
Fucking Joe Cool no selling the homer while the dugout goes nuts.
Quote:
Even year magic running out. Still alot of time, but a 3 run blast to start off the scoring is no joke. Hoping for an Arrieta meltdown is a tough proposition.
Quote:
But its moot because he will sign a long term contract with the Orioles. |
Shit. Blue Jays/Cubbies book that.

Can't wait to hear how vilified Manny becomes when he leaves because Baltimore is stuck paying the corpse of Chris Davis.
As much as I wish I was watching Thor pitching to the Cubs in Citi Field right now, I feel like the Mets would have only fared marginally better than the Giants have this series. Mets stood a better chance of blasting a few out of Wrigley but Colon was never going to put together the kind of start Cueto did in Game 1.

You've also explained to us about how Baltimore was going to go to the World Series this year. Your credibility has come into question.
No. You've come up with an ignorantly optimistic situation where Machado, for no logical reason, would take a discounted/deferred first 3 years of his deal to accommodate the albatross of Davis' deal before getting into big money after that deal is finally off the books.
Unfortunately for you, reality will hit and Machado will just walk over to Yankee stadium, where they'll pay him 25-30 a year with no deferrals and no being a nice guy for 3 years. |
I have to say it'd be pretty lame to see Manny in Pinstripes. Hopefully he either just stays with Baltimore or goes to a big market outside of the East.
Christ. Can't believe Arietta hit .262 for the regular season. Dude has legit pop in his bat.
Want the Cubs to win but that was an absolutely dreadful call.
I predicted the explanation too. Couldn't depict if he caught it at the same time his foot came off the bag.
Maddon not fucking around. Going with Chapman now
Cubs' Almora just missed on making a really amazing catch
