WHAT A FUCKING FINISH! Oh.......replay time

Lock Jaw 10-09-2016 11:01 PM

What a weird ending though

Damian Rey 2.0 10-09-2016 11:02 PM

If their looking interference I think they're shit outt luck. Edwin slid straight into second

Damian Rey 2.0 10-09-2016 11:04 PM

BAG GAWD THEY'VE DONE IT!.

Odor makes a good throw its inning over. He knocks out Bautista, Jays knock him and Texas out.

Damian Rey 2.0 10-09-2016 11:05 PM

God what a fucking finish. Jesus I love baseball.

Happy thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends I have on here, btw.

Fuck man this ending pumped me up. Might go outside and throw the whiffle ball around.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-09-2016 11:29 PM

Donaldson with the hustle play, and Odor poetically eating shit on a double play. Would feel bad for Matt Bush because what a fucking hero, but you're on the wrong team bud.

Unreal. Like Damo said, it's not the best teams who advance, it's the team who is hot with the best fortune. 3 weeks ago, Jays were on the fucking brink.

Bad News Gertner 10-09-2016 11:32 PM

The better team always wins.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-09-2016 11:33 PM

My cousin had Texas nailed from the onset even before the wildcard game. Said they were a massively lucky team as proven by their runs for and against stat.

Damian Rey 2.0 10-09-2016 11:35 PM

Unlike the Orioles, they're peaking at the right time.

*WARNING: ANALYTICAL BASED COMMENT COMING*

I never thought the Rangers were that good. Much like the Orioles, their run differential wasn't very good and my belief is you can't outrun barely outscoring your opponent. Especially when you hit the playoffs.

Texas got to beat up on the sorry Angels and Athletics. Toronto beat up on the Rays but every other team in their division was in the hunt. And the Rangers, while deserving because the game ain't won on paper, were not, imo, as good as the other division winners or Toronto.

I thought they matched up well with Baltimore, a similarly constructed team. But not Toronto, who yielded a strong rotation and deep as fuck lineup.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-09-2016 11:35 PM

I've never seen the Jays catch all the luck like that before, everything seemed to work in their favour.

haha! Rays were the only team in the East the Jays didn't have a winning record against. Rays served the Jays a steaming pile of shit, and almost cost them a playoff spot. Jays matched up terribly against them.

Bad News Gertner 10-09-2016 11:40 PM

The Rays always own the Jays. Especially at the Trop. No matter how bad they are. I have nightmare of Joe Kennedy killing the Jays.

And now Kennedy is dead. Serves him right.

Probably would have been exposed a lot earlier if it wasn't for their insane 1-run game record this year. Made it seem like they had a lot stronger rotation and bullpen than in reality.

That type of baseball magic can work in the playoffs but only if the rotation is lights out great and not just because of some really great luck going their way.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-09-2016 11:51 PM

Texas has a pretty damned good bullpen. And Darvish with Hammels at the top of your rotation gives you some strength at the top of the rotation.

Everything that possibly could have gone wrong for them went wrong and the Jays ambushed them. They were asleep for game 1 and the Jays had been playing essentially what were elmination games for the better part of 3 weeks. Game 2 was like the weirdest fucking thing I've seen with Darvish serving up meatballs and game 3, Lewis wasn't the guy for the job. They got to Sanchez, but it was a close enough game, and the Jays bullpen while not particularly deep, can compete... and they were in enough of a hole where they couldn't afford a mistake, and Rougy Odor screwed the pooch.

Evil Vito 10-09-2016 11:56 PM

I wonder how many Rangers fans still have nightmares of Game 6 of the 2011 World Series. That game convinced me that they will never ever win a World Series.

Damian Rey 2.0 10-10-2016 12:05 AM

1run magic is impossible to control and near as much to repeat. I remember Showalter getting chapped at Brian Kenny for saying his team wouldn't repeat some ridiculous 1 run record they had and Showalter seemed to think it had to do with how the team was built.

Good on Texas for getting there.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-10-2016 12:10 AM

Definitely saw some cracks in the foundation. I think they also psyched themselves out with all the bullshit with the Jays.

Damian Rey 2.0 10-10-2016 12:24 AM

I dunno. I'm sure it was talked about but i try not to think about that stuff. Toronto was just a better built club and in this case the better team won. Been a fun October so far.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-10-2016 12:29 AM

Jays looked about a billion times better in this series than they did in the ALDS last year.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-10-2016 12:34 AM

I'm hoping Cleveland takes a steaming dump on Boston tomorrow. Cleveland is so fun to watch. And I can like Andrew Miller now since he's not on the Yankees.

Damian Rey 2.0 10-10-2016 02:05 AM

Haha not really invested in that series to be honest.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-10-2016 09:32 AM

game 1 was a hell of a game. game 2 was interesting because of the david price eating chode in the playoffs drama.

I remember the 2012 O's and their magic. Went 29-9 in 1 run games and 16-2 in extras. 2013 they went 20-31 and 8-7

Clerk 10-10-2016 10:33 AM

Indians winning it all baby. GO INDIAN GO!

DaveWadding 10-10-2016 01:27 PM

The Cubs are going to get destroyed tonight. I'm going to have to medicate myself to make it through.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-10-2016 01:32 PM

Hey man if Hammels can get pummelled like he did so can MadBum against the Cubs juggernaught.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/X97Agg8gu7A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

A little Blue Jays homerism mixed with some impressive fortune telling from back in August.

The only real dickhead on the Rangers is Sam Dyson. He is honestly a fucking jerk. He's such a little wang in all of his interviews.

Except the Cubs just wait around and wait for a pitcher to make mistakes. Bumfucker doesn't make mistakes in October.

RP 10-10-2016 02:11 PM

Ehh Hammel isnt even in the rotation for the Cubs this series. Not sure what you're on about.

Droford 10-10-2016 02:36 PM

Indians finish off the Red Sox tonight..they will beat the Jays in 5. Book it.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-10-2016 03:27 PM

Indians should be able to handle the Jays, but stranger things have happened than the Jays beating the Indians.

Regardless, Baltimore didn't even get a sniff, so haha fuck you

Evil Vito 10-10-2016 03:50 PM

I think the rainout yesterday definitely helps Boston in this series. I could easily see them coming back and winning.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-10-2016 03:55 PM

Nope. No team in the east other than Baltimore is any good. Baltimore still wins the world series.

Droford 10-10-2016 03:58 PM

Maybe something crazy happens and the Orioles fire Buck. Guaranteed World Series next year.

Evil Vito 10-10-2016 03:59 PM

Buck Showalter is the greatest manager in the history of Major League Baseball and has been running an uncrowned dynasty.

Evil Vito 10-10-2016 03:59 PM

I am absolutely stunned that Buck Showalter is only 60 years old.

The Orioles have one of The best records in baseball since 2012 but nothing to show for it. I think his managing in the Wild Card game is the beginning of the end. Everyone loves buck partly because he brought winning baseball back to Baltimore however I think people also realize he's not going to get them all the way to a world Series. Much like his last 3 stints he did most of the dirty work and then someone else came in and got the team to the World Series. Its been the running joke with him but I think there's truth to it.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-10-2016 04:36 PM

Showalter has never won the big one. He's too in love with himself.

Droford 10-10-2016 08:14 PM

The fact that I called the Red Sox getting swept last week makes this pretty awesome

Evil Vito 10-10-2016 08:18 PM

I don't like the Dodgers but god dammit...I don't want Murph to be one step away from going to the World Series again.

Evil Vito 10-10-2016 08:18 PM

One of my fellow Mets fan friends texted me immediately after the Mets loss last week "I guarantee the Nats win the World Series now, that's just how these things go."

Hope he's wrong.

lol it's funny that you don't think this thrills me just as much as it thrills you. You're just a shithead about it.

As a Jays fan, believe me, we would love this sweep to happen, because we replaced Mr. 230 mil with the bargain that was J. Happ, who already in a start where he had to battle, was more effective than David Price ever was in the post season, and had a far better regular season.

Price didn't do himself any favours with the "saving my playoff wins for Boston" comment. Obviously it was benign and he is a very nice man who'd never slight anyone... but to look where he's at now, it's made him into a bit of a joke.

Spilchuk is currently in a closet, surrounded by his own feces.

Jays have already over achieved after their woeful September where they went limpdicked. Everything for the fans at this point is a bonus.... plus, at least our team isn't Baltimore.

Btw the postseason coverage outside of Bob Costas has beenl awful.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-10-2016 09:39 PM

Damian Rey 2.0 10-10-2016 09:43 PM

He was a huge A Rod fan and I'm sure A Rod has told him not to think about playing for the Yankees.

But its moot because he will sign a long term contract with the Orioles.

Can't wait to hear how vilified Manny becomes when he leaves because Baltimore is stuck paying the corpse of Chris Davis.

Evil Vito 10-10-2016 10:38 PM

As much as I wish I was watching Thor pitching to the Cubs in Citi Field right now, I feel like the Mets would have only fared marginally better than the Giants have this series. Mets stood a better chance of blasting a few out of Wrigley but Colon was never going to put together the kind of start Cueto did in Game 1.

I already explained how Chris Davis' contract won't really be an issue with Mannys contract.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-10-2016 11:03 PM

You've also explained to us about how Baltimore was going to go to the World Series this year. Your credibility has come into question.

Damian Rey 2.0 10-10-2016 11:39 PM

No. You've come up with an ignorantly optimistic situation where Machado, for no logical reason, would take a discounted/deferred first 3 years of his deal to accommodate the albatross of Davis' deal before getting into big money after that deal is finally off the books.

Unfortunately for you, reality will hit and Machado will just walk over to Yankee stadium, where they'll pay him 25-30 a year with no deferrals and no being a nice guy for 3 years.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-10-2016 11:43 PM

I have to say it'd be pretty lame to see Manny in Pinstripes. Hopefully he either just stays with Baltimore or goes to a big market outside of the East.
