Eh. They're doing a better job booking shows in the big picture. TNA couldn't dream of doing anything like HHH vs Lesnar or putting on a show with as much anticipation going in as next weeks Raw/Cena-Punk though. And that's what separates them. TNA can be better on a consistent basis but then WWE will always have something awesome going on that reminds you they're the big leagues and currently untouchable.

Yes, they have their big moments, but lately it's been at the expense of putting out actual entertaining programming. It's fine to save all your big angles for your milestone show, but not if you're going to phone it in until then. And they've definitely been phoning it in recently.

Things should start to pick up this week though.

The Sheamus theme sounds like it belongs in a KIRBY game.

Wow, I'm sure his back was rounded when he landed. That's extremely dangerous.

Ryback looks very injury-prone.

Why are there bubbles coming out of his mouth? Machines don't need to breath.

James Steele 07-20-2012 04:36 PM

That unused Dolph theme would be good for when he turns babyface. It has that same vibe as Randy Orton's "Burn In My Light" theme where it just doesn't sound like a bad guy's music.

Theme post opinions:

Otungas theme sucks either way. As does the ones for Eve.

Agree with Triple James' assessment of Ziggles' theme. Sounds like he won the title AND turned face at a PPV, and this is what he enters to the next night on RAW.

Speaking of title run, Drew Mac's sounds like what would happen if he at least became Mr. MITB and were getting a championship push and/or win. Or at the very least, substantial TV time not jobbing.

Hunters sounds like that was what they were going with in the first place, and he said "fuck that noise, sounds a little too poppy. I'm giving this to Lemmy".

Sort of agree with Cool King about the Barrett theme. It is better than any he's used, but it is still missing that "stadium" feel. I literally don't care (it's a PUN!!1!) that it's Wade coming out because the music isn't quite getting me pumped. It at least needs some sort of tell, like Austin's glass, HHH's chord, or the mic static before Cult of Personality. Feels like it's missing something else, songwise though.

The one for Ryder a couple of posts later feels like something he'd get with a slight character change. Not neccessarily 180 him into some sort of "badass", but be less of a comedy act dork and more of a "legit" competitor who takes his opponents more seriously and also gets more TV time in actual matches.

And finally, the one for Undertaker sounds like a) he died and they put together a video package for him. b) he publicly retired and they put together a video package for him c) they're announcing his induction into the HoF and, yep, video package, or d) any applicable combination of a through c.

Dolph Ziggler furious with Sin Cara

Dolph Ziggler was reportedly livid with Sin Cara following Sunday’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a World Heavyweight Championship Contract at Money in the Bank.

According to SuperLuchas.net, a source within WWE says Ziggler vocally complained backstage over the SmackDown Superstar working stiffly and failing to protect him during a high risk maneuver off the top turnbuckle known as The Spanish Fly.

The errant spot nearly injured Ziggler, not to mention spurred a dubious Twitter trending topic—”Botch Cara.”

According to the source, Ziggler plans to file a formal complaint to WWE officers over Sin Cara so they can review the case further and decide whether the the high-flying grappler faces punishment.

The incident Ziggler is pissed about.

Volare 07-21-2012 01:08 AM

I'm trying to see the "slip" by Ziggler that came first...but it looks like Cara is taking alot of room for Ziggler to balance with, and had no fucking change to get his feet set.

#1-norm-fan 07-21-2012 01:15 AM

The cut makes it hard to see what happens to Ziggler's left foot. Can't tell if Sin Cara kicks it off or not. Gonna have to find a video.

Emperor Smeat 07-21-2012 01:39 AM

I thought the spot with Tensai was a lot more "brutal" than the Sin Cara spot considering how Ziggler landed on the chair.

James Steele 07-21-2012 01:59 AM

I would really like for them to have Ziggler win the title in a double turn. Dunno what face would turn heel though.

Punk kicking Ziggler in the face screaming "YOU'RE NO ONE, I'M THE BEST IN THE WORLD" and on the 4th kick Ziggler pins Punk with a roll up.

Ziggler then tries to shake Punk's hand, Punk kills Ziggler.

I was thinking something more subtle, like Bret/Austin. Punk would be perfect though. I think Punk has easy material to use on a heel turn as I've said in other threads. Punk has a lot more mileage as a top babyface, though.

St. Jimmy 07-21-2012 02:19 AM

Also I'd like to see Sheamus vs. Tensai for a few PPV's. Sheamus would do well not being the hoss of the match. Plus Tensai hasn't really had a chance to show his actual style he learned in japan.

I thought they should have gone with Tensai as Sheamus' opponent instead of Ziggler at No Way Out after del Rio got hurt. As he'd only lost the one match to Cena at the time, Tenai was still kinda booked as a threatening presence and they did end up having a nice match on Raw. Teasing him winning the title before Sheamus eeked it out as the slight physical underdog would have been great for both guys.

Xero 07-21-2012 08:35 AM

Okay, WWE keeps talking about how the 1000th RAW is "record breaking". Going by their standards, every week has been "record breaking" since the 600 and something episode.

Every RAW they should state how it's "record breaking" from now on.

Xero 07-21-2012 08:38 AM

They should call it the "1000th Anniversary of RAW".
