I agree with Nash to some extent. Benoit and Guererro being world champs signified the moment where it changed from wrestling trying to be a larger than life spectacle to becoming relatively bland. Though a smaller world champ once in a while is good with the right booking and enough charisma.

Just thought about something. I think most of us are in agreement that The Rock is probably gonna win the WWE Title at The Royal Rumble so he can go on to defend it at WrestleMania. So that would likely mean him defending it the next month in the WWE Title elimination chamber match. The thought of Rock in an Elimination Chamber match next year is just bizarre to me for some reason.

Though I guess they could do a cop out and have the Raw match be to decide who faces Rock for the title at WM. But still. It's a good possibility.

Barrett had a dark match against Ryder for this week's Smackdown taping but still won't be on regular tv for a little longer.

lol. I'm think about how Punk would feel in character at that moment. He has no idea Show is coming, raises his title for the staredown and Cena just grabs his shoulder and pushes him to the side while Punk is like "What the fuck was that!?!"

Probably. And it's only going to add to the fuel for Cena or whoever wins to say "You're too good too for the business to wrestle on one of the second tier PPVs but you'll happily take it's title and never defend it, right you egomaniacal prick?"

LOL can you imagine the Monday before the Elimination Chamber ppv, having some of the 6 participants in the ring going at each other in promos, and then have a heel "Hollywood Rock" show up on the titantron, WWE Championship on his shoulder, and just go all like "You guys go into the Elimination Chamber next Sunday and beat the hell out of each other. Me? I'm the WWE Champion, I'm a movie star, I'm on the set of my next movie. I don't have the time to be out there on RAW in front of that crowd".

The heat would be unreal.

Rock would get pretty massive heat showing up on the titantron to tell crowds he's too busy in hollywood to be there.

Unfortunately it would only make the pop when he IS actually in the building that much stronger so it wouldn't be all that effective.

If Rock beats Punk for the title at the Rumble, I'd rather not see a rematch at Elimination Chamber. Not only because I'd hate seeing Punk job twice to Mr. Part Time but because no one is gonna buy that Punk would win the rematch.

What if the Rumble winner is from the RAW brand, then you can have the normal Elimination chamber match where the title is on the line. Punk can have his rematch but be eliminated by someone else to set up his Mania match.

Cool King's scenario assumes its a Smackdown person winning but if Ziggler has the belt, the only viable options would be Sheamus or Orton for face name power. Beyond those two, you'd either need a face turn by Barrett/Cody or go with a huge wild card of Santino/Ryder. Jericho probably won't be an option nor would Christian.

lol. I forgot all about that.

In fact I vaguely remember one night after a lot of minor fuck ups, they staged a really out there fuck up of some sort but it was kinda realistic and people were wondering if she really fucked up that bad or if they started making it a gimmick.
