Gotta say Congrats to Chelsea, they deserved to win, I'm just pissed off with the way your goals went in, when you consider how awesome Riise's strike was.

I saw the Chelsea fans cheering for Stevie G, that was pretty funny, in otherwise gutting day :(

Dazz 02-28-2005 07:30 AM

Yeah I agree with you there Sid. It was frustrating really because all through the game we were making chances, but we just couldn't finish them, or couldn't quite find enough space. Before the game I always knew we'd win, but I gotta say that before Gerrard scored I really had changed my mind, Dudek played quality, he was your best player. None of our goals were good goals, and yeah after Riise scoring a goal like he did it was more worthy of a cup final win. Still, WOOOOOOOOOO. Also, Hyppie, Finnan and Kewell are cunts.

Gary O'Neil

Must've been awkward for Gerrard when all the Chelsea fans were singing about him, according to Dazz he didn't aknowlege them

Cactus Sid 02-28-2005 08:31 AM

Just wait til next season, he'll be loving it then

How come?

Dazz 02-28-2005 10:00 AM

Kewell because of the way he reacted after pushing Gallas off the ball, and then the way he acted when Hyppia tripped up Cole. Hyppia for then having a go at the ref despite tripping up Cole and being on a yellow card already, he should have thanked the ref that he didn't take any further action. And Finnan after you equalised for us, when there was a little tussle when we got the free kick near the dugout.

Cactus Sid 02-28-2005 10:06 AM

Kewell is always like that, so fair enough.

Did you see the TV replay of the "foul" on Cole? Joey did the old stick your leg into the defenders leg, Hyppia did nothing. Cole was lucky not to get a yellow for diving. As for Finnan, being a cunt for a little tussle? Something that happens in every single game up and down the country? Bit harsh don't you think.

toxic rooster 02-28-2005 10:12 AM

My god, we're resting our world cup qualifying hopes on that lazy git. Get Kewell out of liverpool :nono:

Dazz 02-28-2005 10:15 AM

No, its the way Finnan acted, otherwise I'd mention Didi Hamman and Carragher too, they were also getting involved in the tussle but I didn't mind that, its the way Finnan went about it.

And yeah I have seen the replay and I still think it was a free kick.

Cactus Sid 02-28-2005 10:47 AM

Seriously, it was never a free kick, and even if it was, it wasn't yellow card worthy

Didi's foul on Frank Lampard before the own goal was genius, I guess the own goal was kinda deserved because it was so cynical

Anyway, as I say, ok, Finnan may have acted up, but players do it every week

Dazz 02-28-2005 10:55 AM

But thats not the point, its the way he did it, and also, I was referring to when Lampard had the ball in the centre circle and was time wasting before taking the free kick after Makelele got stamped on, and Hamman ran in and barged into him and then a fight nearly erupted, but it didn't in the end. The ref was busy talking to Makelele and whoever fouled him.

El Capitano Gatisto 02-28-2005 10:59 AM

I missed the Carling Cup final because I was at Lansdowne Road watching the lads beat England.

Wooden spoon.

Danny Electric 02-28-2005 11:00 AM

Well done to Chelsea, they deserved the win over the match. Just wish we put some of our chances away such as the one Gerrard had and Baros. Joe Cole is a diving shit but we already knew that, Luis Garcis can't pass a ball but we already know that and I feel sorry fro Stevie G.
I went to the pub to watch the game, was awesome, both fans from boteh clubs singiing in their but I was well gutted at the end.

If you watch a replay of that 'foul' on Cole by Hyppia, you'll see how much of a dive it was. Even the Chelsea fans were saying it.

Dazz 02-28-2005 11:16 AM

Well to be fair the replay I watched was on Chelsea TV so obviously the commentators were biased to Chelsea, and I only saw it a couple of times, it looked like a foul to me.

Well, I think you are a moron for not watching the highlights, it was a fantastic game and the better team won.

Contetious matter, anyway it doesn't matter now. :)
Stevie G's own goal was weird, it was like he was flicking the ball back.

El Capitano Gatisto 02-28-2005 11:24 AM

Couldn't give a flying fuck about the Micky Mouse Cup really.

Yeah....your players really thought it was a Micky Mouse cup 2 years ago.

Dazz 02-28-2005 11:29 AM

When it's Chelsea Vs Liverpool, and both playing their strongest team, I don't see how you cannot give a fuck about it, regardless of the competition.

Both teams are fairly boring to watch, for the most part.

And this is bollocks, considering what a good game it was.

Danny Electric 02-28-2005 11:51 AM

I think ECG supports Barcelona.

Dazz 02-28-2005 11:53 AM

Yeah, ECG, you are losing it. We made plenty of attacks, we have exciting players like Duff and Cole, and Lampard was playing well, Drogba is the man, we are far from boring. The match was fucking class.

I'm sure you think so. I'm just not that interested. Might have been if Robben and Alonso had been fit and playing.

Because I'm always going on about how much I love Manchester United?

Dazz 02-28-2005 01:04 PM

You used to till your mates said you were a glory fan, then like a little girl you stopped supporting them

El Capitano Gatisto 02-28-2005 01:10 PM

No. It's actually the other way around. Everybody supported them when I was a nipper, so I enjoyed it a lot more when United got beaten and everybody cried about it.

All my mates supported United when I was about 10, except for one lad who supported Everton because they didn't have any nig nogs in their team.

Dazz 02-28-2005 01:12 PM

If I could be bothered, I'd find the thread where it was discussed, and you said you used to support them till everyone called you a fake fan. Like I say, if I could be bothered.

:D

El Capitano Gatisto 02-28-2005 01:15 PM

I have never said that in my life, Dazz. That should provide you enough incentive to go and find it, to try and prove me categorically wrong.

Dazz 02-28-2005 01:18 PM

Conveniently enough, I think it was in the big arsed football thread on the old boards which has now been deleted. As I recall I asked you if you'd ever supported anyone because I personally wouldn't follow football if I had never supported a team, and then you said about the United thing.

El Capitano Gatisto 02-28-2005 01:25 PM

Well, Dazz, you're quite right that I said I did used to support United when I was a small lad. Mainly because all my mates did, and any family members who liked football (my extended family are all mostly Gaelic football people) supported them also.

It didn't take much imagination.

The reason I stopped wasn't really like a conscious thing, but because as I got older and started to learn more about the game and understand it, I realised I enjoyed seeing Manchester United lose and everybody cry about it more than seeing them win.

It is for this reason also that despite going to a Catholic school with a bunch of Nationalist and Republican kids who nearly all loved Celtic, that I actually enjoy seeing Celtic lose as well.

I was quite an arguementative young lad, so taking up a position opposite from the prevailing view (i.e. against Man U and Celtic supporters) was more important to me than any pretend loyalty to a club.

Dazz 02-28-2005 01:31 PM

I'm sure that isn't the reason you said before that you stopped supporting them. Shame the old thread has gone, I had some good arguements with you and Rob Harvey :(.

El Capitano Gatisto 02-28-2005 01:34 PM

Ok then Dazz. However, I would question your authority when it comes to talking about matters of my own personal history.
