According to WrestleTalk, the reason why Sting decided to sign with AEW instead of renewing his merchandise deal with WWE was due to his unhappiness over his run in WWE.

Minus the Seth Rollins Bucklebomb incident since that was an accident, almost everything he worried about on how WWE would handle him and wanting one last laugh at WCW ended up being true in some form. The biggest being the booking of the Mania 31 match he had against Triple H.

Forgive me but I’m not sure what issues Sting or anyone could have with his run in WWE. He should have been honoured to do the J O B to HHH at Wrestlemania. It was the night HHH was final made.

That match with HHH was way better then I would've ever expected, plus all the run ins, only to end as a wet fart lol. Has there ever been a now egregious HHH win? Maybe over Booker T or Orton?

The match itself was pretty crazy but made little sense why Sting would join together with Hogan and the nWo considering their past history and the whole thing feeling as just another cheap laugh by Vince over WCW.

For years, Sting was the most notable top WCW star that refused to work for WWE and when WWE finally snags him, they don't bother to give the fans a Sting vs. Taker Mania dream match and made Sting's Mania debut match feel way less special than it should have been.

Sting v HHH as a Mania match was a fine idea. HHH was dependable, and the match itself was still pretty good all things considered. But Sting should've won and went on to face Taker either later on that year or the following Mania.

Instead we got what we got. Sting with a losing record and getting his in ring career ended.

Booking-aside, still get a chuckle out of Sting breaking Triple H's sledgehammer with his bat and Sting's hair looking a bit goofy after a while in the match.

TK has made it clear in the past that there will never be an on screen GM like character. I hope that stands...

Thought it was he'd never show up as a GM type character and hog up time on a show.

A William Regal-like GM figure could work but AEW doesn't really have any need for such an on-screen character based on the way they current issue matches from a story perspective.

it's probably not needed with the 3 executive producers unless there's a storyline there...hope not.

All deserved criticisms about AEW aside, I got a warm fuzzy feeling hearing Schivone jizz himself over the appearance of Sting. Nostalgia feels clusterfucky booking and execution can't touch... though hard they may try.

Finally up to date on AEW. I gotta say I think WWE is better right now.

I think I really like hangman Page. Really feeling his drunken, depressed, loner gimmick. He’s pretty cool.

Hangman's great. Hoping he eventually gets the belt off Omega down the line.

That's what I feel is next, the redemption of Hangman. Page gets "sober" and gets serious and Kenny takes him as a joke after all his title defenses.
