Thome carried a team that came out of NOWHERE and led a team that was in first place most of the season to another division title with the reigning MVP.

So then why do you do it? Did someone teach you to write like that? Do you have OCD?

...I TOLD you...it's called "Forum Sex Appeal"...

...it's something you don't know anything about.

So you have no reason to do it other than you think it's cool?

...Well, there's this other reason...

Supreme Olajuwon 10-06-2010 01:30 AM

That you want attention and you can't get it without being annoying?

I thank God for the Pirates every day, they cushion the Cubs from the bottom of the division, even though the Cubbies couldn't beat them to save their lives this year.

Innovator 10-06-2010 07:34 AM

PLAYOFF BASEBALL!

Watch Jorge Posada try to throw out runners!

Supreme Olajuwon 10-06-2010 08:11 AM

Gentlemen, it's time.

Here's hoping Roy Halladay can't take the pressure of his first postseason appearance.

Evil Vito 10-06-2010 09:25 AM

Halladay sucking in the playoffs would be incredible. I have my doubts but in a 3-game series you never know for sure. Plenty of Division Series upsets over the years. I remember nobody giving the Tigers a snowball's chance in hell of beating the Yankees in 2006.

Reds carrying 4 lefties in the bullpen to neutralize Utley, Howard, and Ibanez. Smart move.

Innovator 10-06-2010 09:43 AM

I can't wait for the first screen shot of Burnett and Vasquez in the bullpen

Innovator 10-06-2010 10:14 AM

And I hope everyone is ready for the closeups of Andy Pettite

I heard of the FAN yesterday that Vasquez didn't even make the roster. Francesa thinks he shoulda made it over Moseley at least.

Innovator 10-06-2010 11:28 AM

Moseleys pitched better recently than Javyjuice

I kinda have to agree. Did they put Burnett in the bullpen or did both of them not make the roster? I think this all but seals the deal that Vasquez is gone in the off season.

No real reason to post this other than how awesome it was. 1990 World Series is one of my earliest memories. Love you, 44.

...at times it seemed like at times, the Cubs played well against winning teams, and couldn't beat losing teams.

Wow. I knew Carlos Pena always had a shitty average, but I had no idea it was only .196

Innovator 10-06-2010 03:09 PM

Lee is dominating while Price is getting beaten up.

Burnett's in the bullpen. Doubt we see him at all in this series.

He's like the Mark Reynolds of the AL. BOOM

Well I think I'd prefer AJ in relief more then some of our others.

Evil Vito 10-06-2010 05:35 PM

It's 1-0 in the second inning and it already feels like the game is over thanks to fuckin Halladay.

Maybe Moseley. Probably not anyone else. I think most likely AJ is there in case Andy's back acts up or has to be pulled early from his start.

Aguakate 10-06-2010 07:25 PM

...Whoa, whoa whoa...Halladay has a NO HITTER through 7 Innings!

Droford 10-06-2010 07:27 PM

though 8 now

Aguakate 10-06-2010 07:27 PM

...NO HITTER through 8 Innings for Halladay...

...this guy is unbelievable.

Aguakate 10-06-2010 07:44 PM

...Roy Halladay throws a NO HITTER on his first ever Postseason start.

Best pitcher in Baseball, BAR NONE.

OssMan 10-06-2010 07:44 PM

and the shitty postseason begins anew

...Shitty postseason?

Dude, Roy Halladay just pitched a NO HITTER.

Triple Naitch 10-06-2010 07:50 PM

So much for those first playoff game jitters.

Joey Slugs 10-06-2010 07:50 PM

Welcome to the postseason, Mr. Halladay

Evil Vito 10-06-2010 07:52 PM

Congrats to Halladay. He just sealed his spot in the HOF.

But I gotta say, that was the most boring no-hitter ever. Just in the sense that after the 4th inning it looked obvious. Usually you are shocked if the no-hitter gets completed. Tonight I would have been shocked to see them get a hit.

...that's because he DOMINATED.

Triple Naitch 10-06-2010 07:58 PM

Haters gonna hate.

Evil Vito 10-06-2010 08:03 PM

That's what I mean. He was ridiculous. By the 5th inning the no-hitter just felt like a formality. Nobody even got good swings off, fouled off pitches, made you THINK a hit could come. The guy was on cruise control.

In that sense, it was drama-less. The disbelief never got suspended.

Good for him obviously. He's the best pitcher in the game, and it's not even close.
