Plus, it's only the SECOND No Hitter in MLB HISTORY. |
How is a no hitter ever a sure thing? No matter how much they dominate the whole game the final outs are intense.
|
Hey guys Roy Halladay doesn't suck.
|
This is the first time I've ever felt that way. Usually that last inning my heart is pounding even if it's a team I don't care about. And that last out is normally insane.
But this time, I didn't even get remotely excited. Like it just felt like any other inning. I was that certain the no-no was coming. It's really just a testament to the fact that it was one of the most ridiculous pitching performances any of us will ever see. |
And he plays for the Philadelphia Phillies!!!!
Can you believe it Big Vito 22? |
...people...let's put this in perspective once again...
...This is only the SECOND No Hitter in Playoff HISTORY. The last one was by Don Larsen in 1965 or something like that. We may never see this again. |
Wooooooooow. Doc Halladay throws another no-no this year. Consider myself scared.
There's an outside shot my man Don Larsen may have some company in his club pretty soon. |
...Think about how many GREAT pitchers have been in the Major Leagues in the last 35 YEARS, and have pitched in the Playoffs, yet have never had a No Hitter in the Postseason...
...Again...this is special. |
If you wanna REALLY talk about "haters gonna hate", take a look at Orlando Cabrera.
"Halladay and the ump pitched a no-hitter tonight" Come on. Yeah I'll admit he seemed to get a few calls towards the end there, but at the most it would have added an extra walk or two. Nobody was getting a hit tonight. |
Never heard of him, but this Ray Holiday is pretty good. Think he's got potential to have a decent career.
|
This just in;
ALLLLLLLLL you Halladay doubters. All the "he's never been in the playoffs before" -type stuff. Suck it. |
Well Phillies have won the series already
|
I'm so happy for Halladay rite now.
|
Dude Roy Halladay isn't human.

I like Supreme

"Randomly capitalizing words makes you sound like a retard". |
Not as much as I like Roy Halladay though.
Sorry Supreme |
I agree with what Vito said though. No doubt that Halladay was getting the no no. Reds didn't have solid contact ever.
Nice job, Illadelphia. |

As such, you sound like, an most likely are, a complete retard. |
I imagine the same thing, but with a thick puerto rican accent.

I haven't spotted a Yankees fan in Minnesota tonight. Unbelievable
|
|
They showed a couple when the Yankees took the lead as well.
|
Also, these announcers are terrible. Never heard so little enthusiasm for big plays in a playoff game.
|
Yeah Ernie Johnson is on fire like the way Kobe Bryant was on fire in game 7 of the NBA finals.
|
The Twins are incapable of beating the Yankees in a big spot
Phillies/Yankees World Series here we come :| |
These announcers have no idea what to say during any big moment in the game. The call when Granderson hit that triple earlier was the worst I've ever heard. Didn't know what was going on, said the wrong score, etc...
|
AND THIS GAME IS TIED... The Yankes have the lead.
|
:nono: Twins
|
Did the umpires screw up? Because that game should have been over before the next player broke his bat. From where I was sitting at least Greg Golson caught that ball. Why did the game go on?
And yeah I love Roy Halladay. That guy is awesome. Can't really stand the Phillies though. |
what a day yesterday. Unfucking believable performance by Halladay. The guy's first post season start and he does that. I'm glad I got to see that. 2nd time in basbeall history since 1903. are you kidding me? I made my wife, who's not a huge sports fan, sit there and watch the last 3 outs cause I don't think we're seeing that again.
Legend, if you can get your hands on a Penn newspaper, I'll send you money for it. Supreme, I haven't read any posts here yet, but sorry buddy. not the best way to see your team in the post season after so long. hopefully the Reds hit Oswalt today. Great comeback by the Yanks. I think this is like the 40th post season comeback on the Twins. I thought that hit by Granderson was just a routine popup, but the thing just kept carrying. Oh and lol @ the 9th inning blunder by the umps. That's a tough call to make, BUT THERE'S AN UMPIER STANDING IN RIGHT FIELD. WTF?????? good times |
Umpier. wow, nice spelling
|
What newspaper?
|
"Wow babe he got it, he's amazing, ridiculous."
"But the hitter hit the ball, how is it a no hitter?" "He has to hit the ball and get on base to count as a hit." "Oh" |
any of the top newspapers from Pennsylvania. If you can get one from Philly, that would be awesome. When something historic happens in sports, I usually save the newspaper.
|
There's a couple positives the Reds can take from yesterday. Or at least there are several negatives that can be spun as positives. I think it was fairly obvious the Phillies were going to win game 1. They had the best pitcher in baseball going at home. The fact that it was a no hitter is nice, but in the end it doesn't matter whether the Reds had 15 hits or 0. A loss is a loss. After Volquez left in the 2nd inning, the Reds pitchers gave up 1 hit the rest of the way to a terrifying Phillies lineup. Every player besides Halladay and Victorino was unproductive.
I just hope Dusty keeps the team focused. He did it after that Cardinals series in July when everyone thought the Reds were done and hopefully he can do it again. Just gotta remind everyone that even if Halladay throws another no hitter the next time he pitches, the Reds can still win the series. Thinking Phillies in 4 though. :( |
