Neato hit 1k. Think I'll burn an effigy of Snooki to celebrate!

#1-norm-fan 09-28-2012 03:29 AM

I did not list her being in porn as a reason she is mainstream.

The original reason for this discussion came from how she was a mainstream celebrity who went to porn. I was referencing that. Not using her porn career as a reason she's a mainstream celebrity.

So... Uh no it isn't....

Wishbone 09-28-2012 03:30 AM

Anyway though you're basically saying anyone who's ever been on TV is mainstream and that's a lie. Is she a celebrity? Yeah, but being a celebrity and being a mainstream celebrity are two completely different things. She's like Zack Ryder whereas someone who's actually mainstream would be like Cena.

lol? You do realize that that is exactly what you're saying right? You used her appearance on tv and in wrestling as reasons for her being mainstream. She has the same drawing potential as HHH in that regard. She's not mainstream no matter how you spin it. WRESTING IS NOT MAINSTREAM!

Wishbone 09-28-2012 03:35 AM

Hmm... anyone else notice there are two Dark One's looking at this tread right now?

That's not exactly what I'm saying.

I listed certain things... some revolve around her being on TV. Again, you turn it into something completely different as "Anyone who has ever been on TV is mainstream."

No. But I would say that anyone who has been promoted and profited on via their celebrity status by multiple mainstream outlets, television shows and featured in the main cast of a popular celebrity based reality show (Despite your lack of being able to separate things that are viewed as "trashy" from the conversation at hand) can pretty much lay claim to being mainstream.

Wishbone 09-28-2012 03:42 AM

.......... No comment.........

Dark One 09-28-2012 03:43 AM

Didn't think it was possible, but I think those creepy wrestler sex fantasy pictures would be better than the last several pages here.

Also, why is there a "Darkone" in this room right now, Dark One?

Does the guy at the local Walmart recognize Snooki? Yes. Does he recognize Miley Cyrus? Yes. Does he recognize *Enter random trashy bitch #24 here*? Yes. Does he recognize Chyna? No. I realize that trashy stuff can still be mainstream. My previous comments about Snooki and Paris were just me fucking around. Chyna isn't recognizable outside wrestling. She was used in other things but all that did was attract wrestling fans to watch those things. Do you really think that Joe Shmoe in Milwaukee tuned into that reality show because he saw Chyna's name on the roster? No he didn't.

It doesn't matter what people tuned in specifically for. Once she is featured regularly on a MAINSTREAM television show, she becomes a MAINSTREAM celebrity. Moreso, when she is featured on that show BECAUSE she's a celebrity.

It's really that simple. The standards aren't nearly what you're making them out to be.

Your definition of mainstream makes no sense at all. mainstream means people recognize you. People don't recognize Chyna. She's not mainstream get over it. Just because you were on a few "mainstream" shows in the 90s/early 00s doesn't make you mainstream. Being recognized by millions no matter where you go does. Anyone can be mainstream by your standards if they just appear on the Real World.

owenbrown. What wrestling related thing would you like to discuss in 100,001 replies?

Droford 09-28-2012 05:06 AM

I saw a black guy at the Ravens game that was otherwise a complete dead ringer for the iron shiek

owenbrown 09-28-2012 05:08 AM

I think the next person to post a bad porno like the Chyna and Nicole Bass ones should be banned for a year

Jim Brown was there?

Chyna might have started having a little bit of a career but it all ended when she left the WWF. The Chyna-bubble bursts just like her fake tits did. She put out a sex tape and was famous enough to get a porn deal. Howard Stern isn't even on the real radio anymore. The only reason he's relevant right now is because they chose him to be a judge on a shitty talent show.

Elvis was actually talented and Chyna was a fucking horrible wrestler. Everybody hated her because she worked stiff and now her partners do too. ;)

She might have been getting mainstream attention, but that was 15 fuckin' years ago. To be a main-stream celebrity you have to stay on TV, movies, radio. Porn doesn't count. Wrestling doesn't even count.

Next time you go out and see a stranger ask them "do you know who Shawn Michaels?" The people we think are famous are only famous because we watch wrestling.

You're wrong. Give it up.

Rodney Mack, Mo from Men on a Mission, New Jack and Alex Wright.

There's your new Nation of Domination.

Is there really a porno guy called Johnny Longschlong? Almost as good as Lance Hardwood.

#BROKEN Hasney 09-28-2012 12:05 PM

Despite the WWEFBI's shitty music, I love Little Guido and Johnny The Bull. Can't believe a guy the size of Johnny and the dumb charisma he has never got properly over.

GD 09-28-2012 12:14 PM

You are joking, right? I find the "No Sleep till Brooklyn" like theme to be cool.

Dolph Ziggler has been in the WWE for seven years!

Supreme Olajuwon 09-28-2012 01:11 PM

I did not realize that Dolph's little brother is on nXt. Briley Pierce.

lol Briley. that's a gayer name than Dolph

Supreme Olajuwon 09-28-2012 01:12 PM

Also Jake Carter is Vader's kid

Surreal Life happened after WWE as did most of her career outside WWE. You're demonstrably wrong. Give up.

Yeah, XM isn't popular or anything. Neither is America's Got Talent. You're a moron. Give up. Personal opinon on something being shitty = Lack of celebrity status... This is only the 5th or 6th time I've had that theory validated.

WWE Looking to Pick The New ‘Top Guy’
Posted by Larry Csonka on 09.28.2012

Someone for Cena to pass the torch too…

- Following John Cena's public divorce and recent injuries, there has been more talk backstage about finding the next "top guy" for WWE, someone that Cena could pass the torch to.

The general feeling is that the next guy should be in his mid-20s right now. CM Punk is 33, a heel and also doesn't have the look WWE wants for the top guy

Sheamus has the look and is liked by the "right people," but he is 35, the same age as Cena right now.

As reported some time back, many believe who ever is picked as the next "top guy" will be the last hand picked star by Vince McMahon.

Credit: WrestlingObserver.com via wrestlezone.com
If that is true then the idea of Ryback as the next potential big or mega star might be a really short term plan since he'll be 31 in a little over a month from now. Although it also depends when the WWE actually bothers to start the massive push for that new top star.

Wouldn't be Ziggler either since he's 32 nor would it be Wade Barrett (32), Kofi Kiongston (31), Daniel Bryan (31), or the Miz (31). Ryder (27) and Cody Rhodes (27) actually fit the age range right now for current stars.

#1-norm-fan 09-28-2012 02:17 PM

It seems like a guy has to be old to become a star now. Also, not sure why Cena's divorce is mentioned as a reason his time is coming up.

#1-norm-fan 09-28-2012 02:28 PM

Guys on the WWE roster in their early to mid 20's...

Cody Rhodes
Curt Hawkins
Drew McIntyre
Jey Uso
Jimmy Uso
Jinder Mahal
JTG
Trent Barreta
Zack Ryder

I don't think any of those guys could realistically be the "top guy". They'd have to bring someone in and groom him from the start the way they've groomed Ryback in his current gimmick.
