There have been many networks interested in acquiring WWE's TV package (including RAW and Smackdown). WGN America is another station that has expressed interest in the WWE. WGN America is available in 73 million out of the 99 million homes that have access to cable TV and previously broadcast WWE Superstars from 2009-2011. WGN America believes that adding WWE to their network would expand their reach and give them ability to charge cable systems more for carriage. WGN America doesn't bring in big ratings but they have a large amount of money.

WGN America is getting ten cents per home per month. If they increase to 90 million homes and get 25 cents per month with the addition of WWE programming, that would take the station from $87.6 million in revenue from carriers to $270 million. That along with ad revenue could be why the company would make an offer of $250 million or more to WWE if they are willing to pay more to help build the station.

WWE presents the same issues that Fox Sports 1 would as an option, as there is less availability than other high-profile options. However, WWE would like to get the word out about WGN America as their high offer, as it would drive up the price that WWE could get.
$250 million would be around 1/3 to 1/4 of what the WWE is targeting for a new tv deal for comparisons.

WWE does not believe that they have had any serious issues with live streaming on the WWE Network since the NXT Arrival show. While there have been a few small individual issues here or there, they have not heard of any significant issues in terms of streaming the live editions of WWE Main Event.

With Carlos Colon heading into the WWE Hall of Fame, there has bee speculation that WWE would be buying the World Wrestling Council's video library to integrate it into their own WWE Network, DVDs and more. According to Pwinsider.com, Colon was interviewed a few days ago by "Primera Hora," and when the topic of the library being seen on the WWE Network was discussed, Colon noted that his family is "seriously considering the idea of selling footage."

I did, one time. I felt less about myself as a human being afterwards. :(

That looks terrible, but adding his original theme in the background makes it nearly 10 times more enjoyable:

Sheamus + Hornswoggle

I'd have Hornswoggle become Sheamus' new manager.

It will help add some new dimension to Sheamus' brand.

Do people still hate Jinder Mahal?

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-23-2014 12:34 AM

There wasn't much to hate. He was just bland. Nobody cares he's actually Canadian and not full blood Indian though. Khali is full Indian and he sucks.

I kinda miss David Otunga. Still hoping for the reveal of his Irish ancestry. A feud/tag team of Sheamus and David O'Tunga would make me pretty happy.

Everyone shits on Trips for marrying into the McMahons but no one ever points out that Steph never had any success as a wrestler till she started banging Hunter.

On a related note, the attitude within WWE in regards to Punk has changed from "Vince is going to take care of this, everything will be fine" to a very negative response when asking around. The feeling now is that WWE made Punk a lot of money and then he left.

Hmmmmmm. Feel like Rollins would get a lot of traction as a babyface. His style is tailor made for a great babyface run.

Raw is in Brooklyn Brooklyn tonight so I'm curious how they will react. They were the crowd that gave Bryan a huge pop when Cena selected him as his opponent for Summerslam and a good crowd is not all about booing faces and cheering heels as it is about noise. The ability to make the show that much more entertaining because the crowd is hot. I've seen "mark" crowds that were hot. I keep going back to when Ryback clothes lined Punk in Sacramento and he got a huge pop. I Just want to watch a show where the crowd is interested in the whole show, not just Cena. It's not that mark Crowds cheer Cena because that is fine. It's when they stay quiet the rest of the night and you can hear a pin drop in some of the matches. I love loud crowds that stay loud throughout the event.

I'm really behind Zack Ryder trying to get serious. For a brief while, he was one of the most over guys on the roster. He had arenas all over the country chanting for him, based mostly on his own ideas and creativity. Guy has some legit passion and desire for WWE, and has the balls to go out and try things. I really wanna see him succeed.

PrimeraCuerda.com is reporting that Canadian wrestler Sarah Stock (better known as Sarita in TNA and Dark Angel in Mexico’s CMLL promotion) had a tryout with WWE at the Performance Center back in December. She took part in a week-long tryout camp.

Stock was the only woman in this camp, which also featured Ricochet, Mexico’s Bestia 666, Heddi Karaoui (current WWA World Heavyweight Champion) and former CZW World Heavyweight Champion Drake Younger, who has already signed with the company and will be coming to WWE NXT in a few months.

It’s rumored that several of the wrestlers at the December tryout camp are being considered for a potential Cruiserweights show on the WWE Network.

WWE has also signed up Bray’s own Fergal ‘Prince’ Devitt, who spent a number of years as one of the top “gaijin” (foreign wrestlers) in Japan. He is expected to make his debut in the coming weeks.

I still cant believe at Survivor Series (2 years ago?) at MSG and instead of having Ryder go against Ziggler for the US Title, they put John Morrison in the title match.

The place would have exploded if Ryder won the US Title that night. Ryder ended up winning a few weeks later anyway.
