Just imagine if they had Jake Arrieta

Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale have successfully predicted the Chicago Cubs are a playoff team in 2015.

Weird stat: San Fran Left Fielders have hit 9 home runs this year

San Frab pitchers have also hit 9 home runs this year

I can't help it :o when the Mets eventually clinch it will be just their 8th playoff berth in 54 seasons of existence. The last time they were knocked out of the playoffs in 2006, I took solace in knowing they'd built a team that should be in October for years to come. They haven't been back since.

And that team was built on a killer lineup that included Wright, Reyes, Beltran, and Delgado. This Mets team and its long-term projections are built on pitching which is way more volatile. So while I'm optimistic that the future can be even brighter for the Mets, the past has taught me that future playoff berths are no guarantee.

Just gonna enjoy the fuck out of this while I can.

Jays officially clinch at least a wild card spot!

Tigers keeping Brad Ausmus as their manager for next season. Was rumored to get fired after this season but management had a change of mind recently.

Painful to watch the Cubs pop champagne after 2 losses and backing into a playoff spot.

I agree but more about popping champagne about being a co-wild card winner.

Should Joe Girardi be worried about his job at the moment? I think so.

Ruien 09-27-2015 09:19 AM

Why? Yankees will be finishing with the first place wild card spot. WAY better than the projected finish at the beginning of the year.

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-27-2015 09:29 AM

What do non jays fans think of the jays and their chances? They've had a monumental 2nd have of the season. To go from 50-51 to 89-65 is fucking ridiculous.

Good chance the Yankees will choke away the wild card spot.

Which would mean 3 straight years missing the playoffs.

Which is not the Yankee way.

Bad News Gertner 09-27-2015 09:42 AM

I doubt the Yankees are missing the playoffs

You sound just like Vito. Is this how all New York fans think? Have a little faith in your team. There is literally no way the Yankees will choke away both wild card spots. You are up like 3 or 4 games from the rest of the pack.

If my team was in the playoffs I would not want to play them at all. Kansas City may beat them but I can't see anyone else from the AL. Would LOVE to see Toronto in he World Series dropping 10 a night on whoever comes from the NL though.

Frank Drebin 09-27-2015 11:25 AM

If KC can take an early lead and get the game to their pen, Toronto has nothing but right handed hitters who match up poorly. Tulo may not be 100% if he can play. Whoever has the lead after 6 innings wins.

Bad News Gertner 09-27-2015 12:57 PM

Jays tore apart the Royals bullpen in their last series. Wade Davis and Kevin Herrera both gave up home runs.

The same can be said if Jays can jump all over KC starters.... bullpen doesn't need to be great when you can score 5 an inning quite easily....

Nicky Fives 09-27-2015 04:14 PM

tune into Jays game after work, first pitch I see is Donaldson's walk off HR.....

Bad News Gertner 09-27-2015 04:31 PM

Holy fuck what a game. Justin Smoak did pretty well too!

Frank Drebin 09-27-2015 05:11 PM

Bryce Harper and John Papelbon fought in the dugout. Can't wait to hear what this was about.

Evil Vito 09-27-2015 05:32 PM

Probably argued over where Bryce's ring is.

I do have faith. We had a nice and healthy lead over the Blue Jays earlier in the season. Then the trade deadline happened, Toronto overtook us, and haven't looked back since.

But faith has been slowly going out the window ever since The Boss died. The Steinbrenner kids are clueless on what direction to take team. And we don't know if they're willing to open the wallet or not.

You were overtaken by a team that added David Price and Troy Tulowitzki. The Twins just got Ricky Nolasco back from the DL. Lol big difference.

Frank Drebin 09-27-2015 09:52 PM

Why does every pitch on Sunday Night Baseball sound like a foul tip?

Evil Vito 09-27-2015 10:04 PM

Gotta suck to be the Pirates right about now. I know the game still needs to be played and anybody is capable of losing on a given day...but the way Arrieta is carving them up right now they can't have too much confidence in getting past the Wild Card game.

Bad News Gertner 09-27-2015 10:14 PM

Feel like Vito Cruz and I should hug

Evil Vito 09-27-2015 10:21 PM

This is a bizarro MLB season really.

Mets, Jays, Cubs, Pirates, Royals all in the playoffs in the same year and maybe the Astros to join. I know the latter 2 were playoff teams last year but christ...imagine thinking this was possible like 3 years ago.
