Don't even get the point Droford is trying to make right now.
"Hey guys, I think Andrew Luck is better than Andy Dalton but less better than you guys think he is." Is that it? Really? |
http://coedbc.files.wordpress.com/20...0-49-21-am.png
Some people see Dalton as being as good if not better than Manning through first three years, but I see that He's an even bigger choke artist than Peyton Manning because the Bengals teams have been much better than the Colts teams Manning had to work with his first three years (which I know includes a 13-3 team in 1999). |

And AJ Green is light years ahead of anyone on Indy's receiving core. And this is coming from someone who really likes T.Y. Hilton Stats-wise they may be comparable (extrapolating Luck's to 3 years) but he's done more with much less. Cinci has a top-5 defense and Indy isn't even on the radar. It's a lot easier to have good QB play under less-stressful situations, whereas Luck has literally had to carry the team to make it relevant, let alone winning back-to-back 11-win seasons. And that's just discussing their stats. Luck is a completely different passer to Dalton. Luck may throw the best long ball in the entire NFL (you could convince me otherwise but he's among the best) Simply for me, I apply the "Do I want him?" test. As a Lions fan, if in some fantasy hypothetical you told me right now that I could swap Stafford with Luck or Dalton and no other pieces involved, I would swap for Luck in a millisecond. No way do I make that trade with Dalton. |

My point: people say all sorts of stupid shit regarding Peyton |

...okay? I'm not sure what your point is. I was arguing that Luck >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dalton, so if we're in agreement then high fives all around
Droford making the statements no one else has the balls to make.
I just took umbrage with his comment that Luck is a "rich man's Dalton", because that is an insult to Luck. He is worlds better than Dalton.

kinda blah about Ray's statue. I'll need to go and see it in person for a final verdict |
Was hoping the statue would depict him killing a guy, but I guess that one is pretty good too.
ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!
Meh.
Seems like Marshawn Lynch has been in the league forever and he's only 28. Can barely even remember him playing for Buffalo. He's younger than Adrian Peterson. Just seems... odd.
In the back of my mind him and Willis McGahee are kind of still the same person

FOOTBALL
Guys, got a confession to make.
I don't like Coach T anymore. I think he had to go. |

Jesus, the Seahawks are really good.
0-1 in bets this year
great start! |
Seahawks are too good for football. They're probably gonna leave the league next year and start doing movies.
I didnt bet the game but I would be 1-0
figures |
stick to preseason
Well on the plus side you didn't lose your swagger, Droford.
Im going tomorrow to place my delaware parlay which will likely be Saints -2.5, Ravens -1.5, Redskins +2.5
With all the words on how banged up Cam Newton really is I might add or switch in Bucs -1.5 Im actually keeping a paper log book (green for MONEY) of all my picks this season, including games I dont actually bet money on. I started that last year but stopped sometime in November. This way I can proclaim 'DOCUMENTED 11-5 on the SPREAD!!' and maybe start selling picks next year. |
Quote:
Bill Simmons was spot-on about why the Seahawks only have one home game in prime time next year. Networks are tired of airing blowouts.
h8 the Seahawks.
I have a hate 1 team from every division rule and I currently hate the 49ers out of the NFC West so..
Other teams I hate: Cowboys Lions Panthers (the NFC south really is probably the hardest to pick) Steelers Patriots Broncos Colts |
Quote:
On the other hand though, a Jacksonville-Buffalo game could be very compelling and the two could have a legit good back-and-forth game that goes to the wire, but who will care? Nobody would tune in for that. Gotta strike the balance between competitive and meaning. I guess. Thankfully (for the NFL) so many millions of people are invested in fantasy and gambling that they'll watch anything tbh |
You gonna send your pre-season picks to ESPN and try to get a job there, Droford? Pretty sure they don't currently have anyone who picks pre-season games.
Honestly if I wasn't a Lions fan I would hate the Lions too. They have no foundation to how they build their team. They throw shit together and try quick-fix solutions to try to copy what other teams do and it ALWAYS blows up in their face. Look at like how a team like SF is built and that is the opposite of what the Lions do. But I'm stuck with them, ah well

So you gonna try to get that ESPN job then?
Well, I dont think I could work the same place that Olbermann works, or even somewhere that would rehire him a 2nd time.
I have somehow, despite my terribleness at public speaking, wanted to do sports radio. |
Seahawks were not fucking around last night.
Tom Brady's a washed up has been on TV selling total gyms and he's gonna lose this season llike he lost return of the dragons
Pretty annoying how good the Seahawks are right now. They are supposed to be just one of those teams that does well, but never wins the big one. That is the way it is supposed to be. Them changing their destiny somehow is bothersome.
don't worry they won't win the superbowl
Maybe. But they just embarrassed one of the best teams in the NFC. Beating them this year is definitely going to be a challenge.
Seahawks made the Packers look like the LOLJax. I think they will repeat.
Shut the fuck up, STD. You don't know anything. I'll kill you. HOW ABOUT THAT? HUH? WOULD YOU LIKE THAT
Can't wait to see Bortles start.
Bring on Sunday. Opening with the War of 1812 and the new and improved Mile High Wall.

You're still allowed to post in here if you want to be a little serious.

poor dallas
Dammit, Ravens :(
:-\ Pats
Been a long time since they've lost a season opener. Rush defense was horrible today. |
That first half of the Eagles game was really not fun.
This 49ers/Cowboys game!

Allen Hurns though. |

Someone switch that up with Seth Rollins, STAT!

This is why football isn't popular, not only the fact that there's no athleticism or talent in the NFL. It's that nobody can tackle in the NFL lol like how hard is it? If i was in the NFL i would score every drive and have 200 sacks a season
Feeling kinda weird today. No matter what they did in the offseason, normally I'm just so pumped up when Giants opening day arrives and am just over the top optimistic no matter how things look.
There are just so many unanswered questions with the offense that I can't help but feel just a little bit subdued in my expectations. :o I do know that if the offense does badly Eli is going to shoulder the blame no matter what even if though he may very well be running for his life all game. It will simply come down to the battle in the trenches. It usually always does. |
TMZ leaked footage of Ray Rice knocking his wife out. Get him out of the league.

fucked up either way though |
Apparently Goodell had this tape when he brought down the ginger hammer of two games
Goodell is laughably incompetent.
Holy shit. I knew he had hit her, I had no idea that he completely knocked her out and dragged her body out of an elevator. That video is pretty hard to watch. I mean, Josh Gordon is out the entire season for weed and Ray Rice got two games for that? He should be in prison. Not even getting on my 'high horse.' That was fucking brutal.
Josh Gordon reinstated for 2014 season do to new NFL Drug policys
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plOW...kljyW_FT-BNZWA |
The weirdest part about the video is how cold and remorseless he is after she is out on the ground. Not freaking out that he just knocked his wife out, just robotically dragging her lifeless body around like it's an ordinary day. Pretty disgusting stuff.
Making it look even worse on the league is that, like Inno said, the NFL HAD THIS FOOTAGE when they made their ruling. Incredible.
I could have sworn the video was already released :?:
THEN he sits there and acts supportive after people start watching. Well done, Ray Rice. Bravo.
I cannot believe the NFL had that video. So insane to me. |
NFL claims they didn't have that footage
The hotel staffs says they did here we go |
Quote:
Ravens should waive/release Rice to save face publicly.
Could see the Bengals of yesteryear scooping him up. I miss the days when the Bengals were just a bunch of criminals :'(
Do the 49ers need another running back?
Rice should be cut immediately. Fuck him. No excuse or defense for that.
Smoking weed is far more of a dastardly crime than almost murdering your wife.
I want this Ray Rice thing to be like the Chaz girlfriend beater WWF angle. Loads of players taking cheap shots at him but the refs just look the other way.
But yeah seriously...if the NFL truly did see the video and only gave Rice 2 games, everybody in power needs to be thrown out. Zero excuses to allow him to play if they saw that shit.
Can't wait to see some player wear a "Free Rice!" shirt under his jersey in about 4 weeks.
Quote:
Also Droford will buy one and wear it every game day. |
Mort and Schefter are saying Rice is released. Good job Ravens.

I agree... have long been a "denouncer" of Ray Lewis, Murderer Inc. |
Now the NFL is saying he's suspended indefinitely.
