I thought booking the entire royal rumble around one angle was a huge risk, but an amazingly worthy one. I think it's amazing, even though it's completely unlike any other normal rumble

Once again, the 100,000 dollar bounty was brilliant

I think nowadays smarks would bitch about everyone else being unimportant, or the fued and the money meaning more than the title shot but I dug it.
Plus, the rumble's always between two or three people anyways. Everyone knows one of a few guys is going to win.
This one embraced it and shaped the whole event around it.

And besides, how much Austin cared about the title shot and Vince cared about him not getting made the title/wrestlemania main event look incredibly important.

I'd say it all had more to do with the fact that HHH traded up for the bosses daughter and nobody wanted the ex around.

Honestly, probably not much further. Maybe the European title. Maybe an impressive Hardcore run. But I think she would have been stuck in mid-card hell, though she probably would have gotten a PPV title shot here or there.
