Just got an email from Nintendo saying I had been "selected" to attend an "exclusive" event to play the 3DS before release. Problem is the nearest one of the four events is in Glasgow on my birthday.

Anyone else get that email?

Being able to use the browser while playing could come in handy if we every have big multiplayer sessions with each other and there is no form of ingame chat. Just get the browser up and leave a message on here. I know some aready do that but it seems a bit of a fuss to run back an forth from console to PC.

They have these in GAME stores now, if you are interested in pre-ordering one they let you have a go of it and stuff. Mii channel and what not.

Just pre-ordered mine with Pilotwings. Game have got them for £200 as well now so just did it in store.

Was messing around with the built in stuff and the effect is pretty amazing. Roll on 4 weeks from now.

I've gone with cosmic black because I'm not a fan of blue. Would have loved the red one though. It's not a big enough deal that I'll buy the red one when it comes out but I still would have liked it. I can't even imagine why anyone would rebuy a console they already have just because it's a new colour.

GAMEs site are doing the console on it's own for £196.99 but that console does come with 5 or 6 AR cards so it's not like you'd have nothing to do with it if you just bought the console.

I'm just buying the console for now.

Honestly, I didn't even go in to pre-order, I was just playing with it and had a big smile on my face.

Plus, the early adopted consoles will be easier to hack, if hacking happens. Always an early adopted for that reason!

I've had to cancel my 3DS preorder but I'll be picking it up ASAP. I'm just hoping it's not another "Wii" in terms of how hard it is to get a hold of for the first while.

In other news, the 3DS VC will have SEGA GameGear and TurboGrafx-16 games.

It shouldn't be too hard to get one after launch compared to the Wii due to Nintendo saying they learned from the Wii demand boom and the game scheduling from the DS launch.

Instead of 1 large shipment which might save them some cost on shipping delivery, they are going for the smaller and quicker shipments while also spreading out the launch for 3-4 months instead of everything at once like the DS.

One of the freebie games looks to be an RPG-like game involving the Street Pass mode and 3DS Miis. The game is called Find Mii and works by having your friends or a group of Miis act like an RPG group/party with the objective to rescue your Mii out of jail.

The more Miis that show up in the Mii Plaza, the larger the group gets (similar to World of Warcraft big raid parties). If nobody shows up in your plaza, you can spend Play Coins to hire "mercenary" Miis to free you.

I've not tried this myself because I just can't afford the 3DS at all right now but you can get the 3DS for £177.16 from Zavvi following this link and then using the codeword GUINNESS. It's a very limited offer though, apparantly, and that code was put up on the 17th of March so I'm not sure if it's still valid but worth a try.

You'll probably get no street pass data for a couple of months yet. Even then, I can't imagine it'll be any data worth using like the SSFIV figurine battle.

So stoked to be picking one up on sunday.

I really want one, but just can't afford it right now. I could with my tax return, but I'm going to try and wait for either a really good bundle, or a limited edition one. I just hope there's a good 3DS one soon. There weren't too many good DS Lite ones in North America.

I also don't want any of the launch titles. Hopefully during the summer better games will come out.

I think it will only be available from Netflix on the 3DS or Nintendo's own movie download channel/service.

So I didn't get any street pass data while smoking outside Game at work, but did when I went on a date to a fancy seafood restraunt.

So got a puzzle piece for Mii Plaza and he's also a hero for the Mii Quest. Won a Mario hat for my Mii because of it, which is pretty cool.

I'm also pretty drunk and can confirm the 3D still works.

The 3DS SSF4 is so good. I'm glad there's a filter so you can play only against people on pro mode without re touchscreen insta-specials though. Guile being able to flash kick at any time without charge is kinda game breaking.

I was considering standing in line at midnight to get mine tonight, but since temperatures are going to be in the teens, I'll just grab mine at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.
