Cam Neely is mint.

KleptoKlown 11-08-2010 10:45 PM

true enough on the bad knees vs lazy...in fact that was a shitty comparison :o

Kovalev could have been a lot better though.

KleptoKlown 11-09-2010 11:08 AM

So how about the latest Hall of Fame inductions?

Can't go wrong with Dino Ciccarelli, but I think it's still too early to be inducting the ladies. This reeks of political correctness. I'm not saying the ladies shouldn't be in the hall...just not yet. Womens hockey has really only been on the international scope for the last 20 years or so. Most NHL'ers careers are longer than that if you include minors and juniors.

Women also don't have a professional league, so these inductees are based solely on international play. That wasn't enough to get Paul Henderson into the hall, so why is it enough for Cammi Granato and Angela James?

The hall should be about inducting the best of the best, not the best with breasts. Adam Oates, Mike Richter, Phil Housely all got passed over, and all had lengthier, more successful careers.

JimmyMess 11-09-2010 11:17 AM

Your right it is mostly politics to start adding female hockey players. It comes with the times. And where we are, hockey is in dire need of more fans and exposure. Adding women to the hall garners media attention. However, they have to start somewhere, and these women are now pioneers.

And Paul Henderson only played 15 international games. One goal wouldn't be enough to put anyone in the Hall.

There are plenty of players who will go to the hall eventually, and Housley will maybe be one.

El Fangel 11-09-2010 11:36 AM

Henderson belongs in the Canadian Hockey Hall of Fame, his one goal while famous doesnt warrent an admission to the HHOF.

KleptoKlown 11-10-2010 12:07 AM

Dear-Fucking-God...

if the Canucks cant get one past Price, they might really be fugged afterall.

Maybe Price reminded them of Cloutier and they took pity on him?

El Fangel 11-10-2010 12:17 AM

Did I really just see Price stone the Nucks?

Nah, couldnt have.

KleptoKlown 11-10-2010 01:03 AM

All I know is that I need to get stonned after seeing that shit.

KleptoKlown 11-10-2010 01:05 AM

Seriously, Carey Price let in a goal to Bob Barker after watching "The Price Is Right" Even Happy Gilmour is laughing his fucking ass off right now.

KleptoKlown 11-10-2010 01:44 AM

...wanting to smash a keyboard right now.

El Fangel 11-10-2010 02:33 AM

SaskatchewanChamp 11-10-2010 08:14 PM

I'm not sure if you guys have heard about the new format too the NHL All-Star Game, but I think it is 100X better than letting the fans pick. Although, it still is an over-rated exhibition game.

Droford 11-10-2010 10:02 PM

what the hell is up with this new All Star game format? It sounds like its gonna be like when you were in school and having to be picked for kickball teams. Would hate to be the last one picked lol.

Droford 11-10-2010 10:07 PM

Also, not seeing the game but Columbus is raping St Louis 8-1

weather vane 11-10-2010 10:59 PM

Bruins down 4-2 in the third and come back to win 7-4.

SO MINT!

LoDownM 11-10-2010 11:03 PM

Was watching most of the game and figured once Pitt scored the power play goal right at the end of the 2nd, Pitt would cruise in the 3rd.

Left to go eat dinner and did some other stuff and was shocked at the end score.

KleptoKlown 11-10-2010 11:36 PM

All star game is kinda blah anyway.

Should put more focus on the skills competition.

El Fangel 11-11-2010 12:54 AM

Oh fucking joy, Crosby and Ovechkin get to choose their teams for showdown number 832595928

El Fangel 11-11-2010 12:56 AM

You know what they REALLY should do? Have two winners from a super huge contest draft their teams and have tgem play against each other.

They chose evergreen from the coach to the backup goalie

Ryan O'Byrne traded to the Avs for Michael Bournival according to a Montreal sports radio.

El Fangel 11-11-2010 08:09 PM

Omfg, thats 100 million right there.

LoDownM 11-12-2010 01:56 AM

Have a feeling Devils fans are gonna be booing him every time he touches the puck soon.

El Fangel 11-12-2010 04:09 AM

They won't have to boo long before he looses it in the corner.

Adder 11-12-2010 06:05 PM

Pittsburgh's goaltending (and defensive) is awful. Not to mention that besides Crosby, they aren't scoring. Yet they're still only one game under .500 at the moment. The Pens need to get their shit in order, but they shouldn't be written off like some people seem to be writting them off.

PS

Write off the Leafs.

Hanso Amore 11-12-2010 06:33 PM

Anyone else think Illya is alreayd regretting the New Jersey deal and trying to put his way out of town?

Sabres take 5 out of 6 points in a 3 game trip. If Miller can ever get healthy they can start pushing their way back up.

And Thomas Vanek is killing me. I truly believe he can be a 50 goal scorer and dominate the league with his skill. But the dude needs to see a shrink. He is fucked between the ears right now.

El Fangel 11-13-2010 01:19 AM

Called it,

from a site I am part of for fantasy reasons, so I would rather not let it out for people who dont know as it gives me an edge but:

<table> <tbody><tr> <td>Miller - Has been battling knee discomfort since camp. Will miss Wednesday’s game and is likely to miss Thursday’s game as well.</td> </tr> </tbody></table> Nov 08

KleptoKlown 11-13-2010 06:08 AM

Am I the only one loving every second of the Leafs misery???

Seems like yesterday all of Laughs Nation was bitching about JFJ when he got fired, then a fewish months later, the Laughs hired Burke, and suddenly everyone thought the Laughs would instantly become cup contenders...considering Burke "won" a cup in Anaheim by fluking his ass off from inheriting a great team, then raping the Oilers for Pronger...Take it from a Canucks fan, he's the biggest mouth and most overrated GM in the league. He talks the the talk, but walks like a 98 year old man in a wheelchair. I'll give him credit, he did great when he worked some voodoo magic to trade McCabe to the Hawks in order to get the Sedin's on draft day...but other than that..I dunno, I think he would be a better used car salesman than a NHL GM. Looks great on the Laughs though, Pre-Cap, the Laughs were the NY Yankees of hockey....minus the success. They tried to spend spend spend, and have been in the basement ever since.

Im ranitng now..and I could go on...

But for some reason, I take almost as much joy as the Laughs losing as I do the Canucks winning.

El Fangel 11-13-2010 06:38 AM

I remember about a month ago when a certain team was on a 4-0-0 win streak to start the season and their fans claimed the cup was theirs for the taking.

Here we are a month later and that team is on a 1-8-1 skid (if memory serves me right)

Havent heard a peep from those "fans" in a little while.

Why? Price is fucking amazing. Price is a franchise goalie coming into his own. Kid is 23. Goalies dont reach their best days until usually around the age of 25. The guy is a stud. The Habs actually made the right choice in keeping him over Halak.

Droford 11-13-2010 01:04 PM

It seems like the Capitals finally got things going this month and are playing like last year now. Even with their "slow" start they now have 24 pts which is tops in the league and 58 goals scored is tops by 5 as well.

The move of Semin to the first line with Ovechkin and Backstrom might have had something to do with it. Semin is actually playing better than Ovie and thats real scary if he can stay healthy.

Halak is ripping it up in St Louis right now. Leading the league in shutouts, amoung the best in GAA and Save%. He's only 25 too. Price vs Halak is debatable, as right now Halak is far and away the better goalie. Price could very well be the next Patrick Roy....he could also be the next Kevin Weekes...

Regardless of who the Habs should have kept, one thing there is no argument against is that they should have got more for Halak. He carried them on his back through the playoffs, and all Gauthier was able to get was a couple of guys I can't even remember.

Skippord 11-13-2010 04:12 PM

Ryan O'Byrne looks massive next to every other Avs defensemen

RP 11-13-2010 05:15 PM

Blackhawks might have gotten rid of too many good players.

SaskatchewanChamp 11-13-2010 07:36 PM

Kadri is in tonight, I expect a very lopsided game, if Vancouver doesn't win by more than 3, I will be very surprised.

KleptoKlown 11-13-2010 08:03 PM

Vancouver has a nasty habit of playing down to weaker teams level.

Kinda surprised Schinder isn't getting the start. He's been really good when he's played and this is a perfect chance to get him some more experience. Hopefully they play him more than 10 games a year like all those previous backups.
