I don't know what's gotten into Soriano, but I hope it don't get out.

Boomer 04-17-2011 03:35 PM

The Braves doing a squeeze play with the bases loaded is hilarious.

Emperor Smeat 04-17-2011 05:49 PM

It took a little over 2 weeks but the Red Sox finally managed to win 2 games in a row.

Tomorrow is going to be tough because its Dice-K vs Blue Jays #1 or #2 starter.

Evil Vito 04-17-2011 06:22 PM

Yeah Fredi managed the game pretty shittily today.

Feels good to finally win. Speaks volumes about the Mets' bullpen that rotation members Chris Capuano and R.A. Dickey were used in relief.

Homestand against the Astros and Diamondbacks next week, going to Wednesday's game. If they want any hope of climbing into relevance they need to win both of those series.

Damian Rey 04-18-2011 01:36 AM

Padres put some runs on the board, and actually kept coming up with big hits to beat the 'Stros 8 to 6 and split the series. I hope the offense carries over to Wrigley tomorrow.

Skippord 04-18-2011 02:23 AM

was going to find a picture of Jonathan Herrera with a caption of "haunting your nightmares" but apparently google images doesn't yet know who Jonathan Herrera is

haunting your nightmares

actually it works, dick

Emperor Smeat 04-18-2011 03:21 PM

 Dice-K pitched great today. Just 1 hit allowed to the Blue Jays.

For some strange reason he only pitches great when its against the Blue Jays even though he struggles against teams who can hit HRs very well.

weather vane 04-18-2011 04:46 PM

Back to track a bit here... let's keep it going.

Zambrano was unreal tonight. Wish he would of gotten the win.

RP 04-19-2011 01:40 AM

Great win for the cubbies. Wish o was at that game.

RP 04-19-2011 01:43 AM

Zambrano hasn't loss since june 25 last year

Gertner 04-19-2011 12:09 PM

Well that series was just shit.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-19-2011 12:13 PM

Mike Leake got arrested for stealing $60 worth of t-shirts from a Macy's. What a loser.

Jokes:
I wonder if Leake will get sent to the pen.
This is Leake's first career caught stealing.

Triple Naitch 04-19-2011 12:19 PM

Guy stole six shirts worth a total of less than $60.

Looks like the fashion police should have caught him first.

Evil Vito 04-19-2011 12:26 PM

Leake now leads the league in steals by pitchers

Boomer 04-19-2011 01:36 PM

The Braves have yet to register a pinch-hit or a hit from anyone in the 9 hole. So bad right now.

Evil Vito 04-19-2011 02:36 PM

Welp, the Brad Emaus experiment didn't last long. DFA'ed, Justin Turner brought up.

I knew Leake would be a steal this year, I just thought it would be for my fantasy team.

weather vane 04-19-2011 03:50 PM

GOT HEEEEEEM

Droford 04-19-2011 10:48 PM

I feel bad for Twins fans right now..they're awful offensively

Droford 04-19-2011 10:52 PM

Joe Nathan is done. Just gave up a 3 run hr to Vlad on a 3-1 pitch in the 9th to make it 11-0. Vlad still hasn't drawn a walk this year either.

PHILADELPHIA -- PhillieBot, the one-armed, three-wheeled robot, designed by engineers at the University of Pennsylvania, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Wednesday's game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers.

The spectacle is part of Science Day festivities at Citizens Bank Park, said Evan Lerner, a spokesman for Penn's engineering school.

The pitching robot has been in the makings for a month and a half as Penn engineers Jordan Brindza and Jamie Gewirtz assembled parts and wrote software in their spare time, Lerner said.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=6389703
The robot can be programmed to pitch like a MLB pitcher in both speeds and types of pitches but the Phillies made sure he only threw 30 mph or else people would want to do trades or put it in the Phillies rotation.

Futurama also said this is how the Robot Leagues started for baseball and then Blernsball.

Evil Vito 04-19-2011 11:15 PM

Looks like holding onto Nathan hoping he'd soon recover the closing duties was a bad idea :(

Mariano who? Heh.

ClockShot 04-20-2011 06:41 PM

Just came over the wire the MLB is taking over operations for the Dodgers. The McCourts can't coexist with each other and the team is strapped for cash. Frank McCourt took a $30 mil. loan from Fox to keep the team afloat.

Holy shit, and I thought the Mets had it bad with money.

Emperor Smeat 04-20-2011 06:42 PM

MLB set to take over daily operation and activities of the LA Dodgers after the current owners are currently in a financial mess due to the divorce.

Unlike the time the MLB took over the Expos, MLB is only taking over the day-to-day activities of the team and won't be spending their own money for potential trades or signings. When they owned the Expos, the MLB had to fight off owners complaining MLB was spending their money on another team and MLB didn't want to give the Expos special status.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-20-2011 07:20 PM

Did you guys hear about the Dodgers

MLB taking over operations

Skippord 04-20-2011 07:47 PM

the MLB is taking over the Dodgers operations, guys

Triple Naitch 04-20-2011 08:25 PM

I'm gonna wait for some confirmation on this rumor before I give my opinion on the matter.

RP 04-20-2011 08:48 PM

Guys....mlb took over the Dodgers

SlickyTrickyDamon 04-20-2011 08:56 PM

Weren't they owned by Rupert Murdock self-named billionaire tyrant?

Droford 04-20-2011 09:05 PM

Im pretty sure Ben Maller is really upset about the dodgers.. unless he isn't

Os factoids of the night:

With a 2 run HR tonight with a runner at 2nd, Matt Wieters is 6 for 6 with RISP. I cant find any records dealing with RISP though.

Mark Reynolds is 0 for his last 26 with the bases loaded with 18ks...CHOKER
