RG3 to the Skins? Bust = confirmed

Triple Naitch 03-10-2012 08:08 AM

He even kinda looks like Ricky Williams.

MVP 03-10-2012 09:36 AM

Can't believe the Skins traded all of those picks just to move from 6th to 2nd overall.

Krimzon7 03-10-2012 08:09 PM

The redskins have to be pretty fucking stupid. I love RG III but that's a kings ransom

Yeah, feel as though this is a given now. Elway seems to be looking for any reason to dump Tim, and Manning is the only name big enough to prevent the backlash from being too massive. What's likely to happen IMO if Peyton signs is Tim gets traded and Elway drafts a guy early to be groomed to take over after they get 2 or 3 years out of Peyton

Nark Order 03-10-2012 11:05 PM

Ugh. Now we might have to worry about the Rams at some point in the next few coming years as well. NFC West won't be the "NFC West" for very much longer at this rate.

DrA 03-11-2012 03:35 AM

With all of those first round picks Washington gave away you would think that they were getting Joey Galloway.

DrA 03-11-2012 03:54 AM

I don't think Griffin is going to be a bust though. RG3 is way too marketable of a nickname.

Reavant 03-11-2012 05:13 AM

It could also serve to equally useful to be used as a verb for failure

Boomer 03-11-2012 09:51 AM

The Falcons are going to let Curtis Lofton walk with the signing of Lofa Tatupu. Taking a big risk...whoever gets Lofton this offseason should be really happy.

That said, it probably also means that the Falcons are going after someone big. Mario Williams would make a lot of sense.

Krimzon7 03-11-2012 10:30 AM

I thought Mario Williams got franchised. I love tebow, he's a winner, and he's awesome. He deserves better than the Denver organization and Elway. I'm happy that broncos fans were loyal, and that tebow rewarded them with a magical run. But the office has treated him like shit. He needs to head to Jacksonville!

James Steele 03-11-2012 05:37 PM

No, the Bronco defense gave them a magical run.

I hope that's where their going. Don't like the signing at all myself. I don't think Abraham is coming back though and the only reason to let Lofton walk is to save money for a bigger name.

Mario Williams and Ray Edwards healthy on the ends would be dirty.

I will never convert to Tebow, but he has been treated pretty poorly. Might as well ship him to Jacksonville so they can sell some tickets.

Of the likely destinations, Arizona might be the better fit for Manning in my opinion.

FearedSanctity 03-11-2012 11:13 PM

lol if it really is between just Denver and Arizona can we just make Manning to Denver official already? Cards are $16.4mil OVER the cap, Denver is $44.7mil UNDER. Assuming Manning makes around $10mil a year, Arizona would have to clear at least $26mil in cap space

Quote:

[Editor's note: The following list shows the cap space for each team, as of Sunday, March 11. Transactions occurring after 4:00 p.m. ET on Friday, March 9 are not reflected. For example, the Vikings will have more space as of Monday, due to the termination of the contracts of several players. Also, the Jets will have more cap space, given the extension of Mark Sanchez's contract.]

Bengals: $49.9 million under.

Broncos: $44.7 million under.

Buccaneers: $42.7 million under.

Jaguars: $40.6 million under.

Chiefs: $32.5 million under.

Redskins: $31.1 million under.

Bills: $30.8 million under.

Seahawks: $29.8 million under.

Titans: $28.1 million under.

Bears: $22.6 million under.

49ers: $21.8 million under.

Browns: $17.4 million under.

Patriots: $16.2 million under.

Chargers: $14.9 million under.

Ravens: $14.45 million under.

Dolphins: $11.8 million under.

Colts: $11.6 million under.

Steelers: $10.5 million under.

Eagles: $9.6 million under.

Vikings: $7.9 million under.

Jets: $7.1 million under.

Falcons: $5.8 million under.

Packers: $5.4 million under.

Saints: $5.2 million under.

Cowboys: $4.7 million under.

Rams: $1.2 million under.

Giants: $3.8 million over.

Texans: $4.7 million over.

Panthers: $5.3 million over.

Raiders: $7.4 million over.

Lions: $11.5 million over.

Cardinals: $16.4 million over.

Skippord 03-11-2012 11:16 PM

I bet Mystery Team signs him

Droford 03-11-2012 11:23 PM

The Colts should sign him. That would be a swerve.

Emperor Smeat 03-11-2012 11:38 PM

Would be pretty easy for the Cards to get under the cap but it requires them tossing out Kolb and not paying his bonus. Almost a similar situation like Indy where the QB makes too much money and Kolb had a really poor first year.

Droford 03-11-2012 11:44 PM

Its kolbering time!

This whole Manning thing is like a shitty Ben Stiller movie. Tebow is the new girlfriend who everything is going great with, but all of the sudden the homecoming queen starts showing an interest in Ben Stiller.

The best case scenario is where Peyton signs and mentors Tim on how to throw. I guess that's the equivalent of Stiller having a threesome to end the film.

DaveWadding 03-12-2012 12:30 AM

Apparently the Lombardi thing was bullshit.

And cutting Levi Brown (which the Cardinals are going to do anyways) saves them $15 mil on the cap. That plus Kolb and minor other cuts (Heap and Chansi Stuckey) and the Cards are right there.

Nark Order 03-12-2012 12:32 AM

DaveWadding still trying to salvage this somehow.

Sorry, Dave. Doesn't look like it's going to happen. :(

Dunno, probably. But there's something about the way all these tweets have come out that sounds like someone said something they shouldn't have. Wrong reports about anything are out there all the time and nothing ever gets said, yet as soon as Lombardi posted that tweet the Broncos FO are all over it denying it saying they wanted to be "respectful of the process". Plus Lombardi has been on the money about this Manning stuff from the beginning, so it seems a bit weird for him to be wrong now.

But yeah, like I said, he probably is wrong this time. Just seems odd to me

The only thing the Cardinals could do to drop the ball on this is bring in Kyle Williams.

I say do it, you'll at least probably win the NFC West.

Nark Order 03-12-2012 01:31 AM

Look at how quickly the Tebow love has diminished.

Rest in Peace, Tim.

FearedSanctity 03-12-2012 02:45 AM

Oh the Tebow love is still there. I personally have just come to accept that there's no future for Tim here as long as Elway is in charge. Even if he can't land Peyton John's career is going to be one attempt to replace Tim after another. I'd rather Tebow go to a team like Jacksonville where the FO and the fans actually want and will appreciate him. He deserves a fair shot somewhere because he sure as hell isn't going to get it from Elway in Denver

James Steele 03-12-2012 04:06 AM

He hasn't gotten a fair shake in Denver? Bullshit. The front office's job is to make the team better, and if that means getting a legendary quarterback to replace a glorified fullback so be it.

Nah bro, tebow has been the red headed bastard stepchild that mcdaniels left behind after the divorce. Since mcdaniels was fired, Tim tebow has been loved by fans, and hated by management. Elway has public ally heted on the kid every chance he got. He only threw his lukewarm support behind him after the nation latched onto their winning streak. Denver management has every right to want a new quarterback, but they have been classless in their handling of Tim tebow. I hope they get manning, cut tebow and go 3-13.

Ermaximus 03-12-2012 10:31 AM

If Tebow comes to Jax, I don't see him being the starter. They've pretty much commited to Blaine, but Tebow would sure as shit put asses in the seats at Everbank Field. If anything, the Jags need to re-sign Mincey, snag Mario Williams, and then get a high quality WR in Justin Blackmon. Then again, Gene Smith does some weird shit on draft day.

Nark Order 03-12-2012 12:14 PM

If owenbrown thought Bronco's fans were supremely annoying before... I can only imagine what will happen if they get Peyton Manning.
