I think Wings fans give Osgood/Veron to much credit, they weren't really amazing goalies, they just had amazing teams in front of them. Neither of them where that consistent when they played elsewhere. Vernon did have a few good seasons in the late 80s with the Flames, but that's about it.

Some do, they were decent goalies at best.

they show it all the time on the network that broadcasts Avs games and I'm always really happy for a second before I realize how much the current Avs bum me out

I hated the Erik Johnson trade from the beginning. What a disaster. No goals.

A few good seasons? Vernon was one of the top 3-4 best goaltenders from 1986 to 1991 including a Stanley Cup. His stats went down south once the Flames started dealing everybody and anybody. He also took a Sharks team who finished 2nd worst in the league the previous season to the playoffs and that team was garbage.

Osgood always put his team in a position to win. That's all you can ask.

Bs managed to snap their 4 game loosing streak and take over the division lead from the Habs.

I actually don't think Erik Johnson has been that bad, he's been hurt a lot and he's usually so busy being the only defensemen who can skate and try to stop someone from scoring a goal he can't do anything offensively. Everyone else has been literal garbage though.

Oh I agree 100 percent, but I think he's done everything well but score. So maybe if he has a better defensive partner next year(Seth Jones :'() he'll be alright. Still wish they had traded David Jones instead of Chris Stewart though.
