People saying the size of GTA6 will bee at least 200gb....... RIP gaming PC.

drave 06-24-2024 01:43 PM

If your gaming pc is going to be consumed terribly by 200gb, you did something wrong.

Big Vic 06-24-2024 01:54 PM

Bought it for $900 in 2021. It can hold 250gb and hasn't been an issue for the 3 years we had it....

We have a back up hard drive. Maybe GTA6 can be put there? Dunno if that will cause performance issues.

It will depend on two primary things:

Which USB version it is using, you want minimum 3.0 (also called superspeed)

The kinda storage you store things on. You will want a SSD. Biggest bang for your buck in terms of performance.

Games that are more intense on your GPU should be installed on the local SSD, where there's direct access to the GPU, rather than being bottlenecked by the USB cable.

USB 3.0 and up
SSD

Rumored to be $100, oof.

Not sure if I will get it anyway as I think I have aged out of really being into this genre of games.

One does not simply age out of GTA.

Not True of course

In regard to the story and tone, GTA obviously leans heavily into lowbrow satire, which can certainly have diminishing returns as we get older.

That said, I will never tire of exploring Rockstar's open worlds as they always push the boundaries of what's possible in creating living breathe worlds. The attention to detail is really incredible, and whenever I come back to RD2 or GTA 5, I still find things I had never seen before.

Some people are incredulous that the game will look that good on standard PS5, but my question is whether the npcs will truly be as dynamic as they appear in the trailer and screenshot. If it was any other developer, I would call bullshit right out of the gate and assume that in game footage or not, it's all preprepared cutscenes, but when you look at the jump from gta 5 to red dead 2, it's not that implausible.
