100%yes, especially if NBA is doing a lead in. He looks and speaks like a star

Volare 12-24-2020 02:52 PM

I really don't want to go down the rabbit hole that is the NBA...ugh.

Shit, makes me wish MJF had usurped Jericho from the Inner Circle (as I expect will happen next year).

MJF cutting a great promo that pisses everyone off, Jericho runs out all pissed off and gives him a Judas Effect. Nobody would care that it's a fat guy throwing an elbow, MJF makes you want to see him get his ass kicked by everyone, you live vicariously through whoever it is.

Mr. Nerfect 12-24-2020 07:27 PM

They fucking suck. Sometimes the truth is real simple. AEW fucking sucks. It is a bad wrestling promotion.

Merry Christmas, shills.

Trent currently out of action for the next several months due to him suffering a legit pectoral injury recently.

"Hey I have a partially torn pec and will be out for months. It’s fine," Trent tweeted on Thursday.

Trent appears to have been injured during a 12-man tag match on last week's episode of Dynamite. The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, MJF, Sammy Guevara, Santana, Ortiz & Jake Hager) defeated Best Friends (Trent & Chuck Taylor), Top Flight (Darius Martin & Dante Martin) & The Varsity Blondes (Brian Pillman Jr. & Griff Garrison) in that match.

There was an angle on this Wednesday's Dynamite where Trent was shown being taken out by ambulance. Kip Sabian said he was going to reveal he and Penelope Ford's wedding date, but Sabian, Ford, and Miro were interrupted by Best Friends' theme music. Sabian, Ford, and Miro acted concerned before laughing and revealing what really happened. Video was then shown of Trent being put into an ambulance while Taylor and Orange Cassidy looked on.

You can hate that I am right all you want. It won’t change that I am right or help AEW as they lose 1.25 million off an NBA lead-in. Watch out for the Shaq Attack.

Rip Rogers is saying that AEW used Flash Flanagan and Dylan Bostic and paid them $80 short of what they were promised.

If true, this is major LolTNA.

Emperor Smeat 12-25-2020 01:19 AM

Cagematch's website says neither have ever wrestled for AEW so Rip Rogers more likely is lying.

Vastardikai 12-25-2020 01:52 AM

Because "used" automatically means "for wrestling?"

Flash Flanagan was in a PWI 500 about 20 years ago. It's highly unlikely he is still wrestling.

I checked Cagematch and assumed that either their records were incomplete or they were involved in one of their many pull-aparts and brawls. Cagematch often misses a lot of guys' work. For example, a quick search of Dylan Bostic shows a match with Wardlow that they don't have a record of.

Would be an odd thing for Rip Rogers to lie about without intimate knowledge. More likely that he got confused between AEW and another indy promotion.

Didn't they do a big pull-apart with about 50 guys for Cody and Brodie Lee on the same show they did a big brawl between Moxley and Eddie Kingston where no one came out? I'd check to see if they were in there, but I can't put myself through any AEW.

Emperor Smeat 12-25-2020 01:55 AM

Or you simply just wanted to brag about something potentially bad happening in AEW that you desperately were hoping to be true based on how you've been acting around here for months.

You're the one that called the friend and trainer of two guys saying they haven't been a paid a liar, man. Take a look at yourself and get right.

I just relayed what Rip Rogers said. Does he have a reputation for being a known liar in wrestling? Apply Occam's razor here.

Mr. Nerfect 12-25-2020 02:13 AM

But yes, I do enjoy it when this promotion fucks up and gets a mess on their hands. Because we don't need any more bad wrestling.

Do you have a link to the thing he said so I can check his claims and story out.

Plus you literally said above that there might be holes with his whole story.

Edit: Nevermind found his tweet making that claim. I asked a few people I know to see if they have any info on his story and waiting back on their responses.

Off the top of my head MJF, Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, Ricky Starks, Britt Baker, John Silver, OC, Jungle Boy...

The entire AEW roster isn't doing backflips and dives and superkicks...WWE and NXT in particular features as many, if not more dives, flips and kicks than AEW. I never understand why people think this is some AEW phenomenon.

Even though the critique was primarily about AEW (because that's who Jim Ross works for and was talking about) I didn't limit it to AEW. Read the whole thing again and then go listen to JR's comments again. Don't let the point bypass you because you want to like AEW more than others actually do.

If there’s something to it, I imagine it’s most likely just a clerical error or the left hand not knowing what the right is doing. It’s just funny because #SloppyShop.

Mr. Nerfect 12-25-2020 04:45 AM

The reason AEW gets associated with the dives more is probably because their fundamentals are generally shittier. They’ll take anyone. Plus, they have that more PWG “playtime” mentality. And Dave endlessly blows Omega & The Bucks irrationally and way more than any WWE/NXT talent. Although they do have their detractors too.

Triple A 12-25-2020 05:25 AM

Merry Christmas @everyone. Hoping for some good AEW shows in the coming weeks.

PWG is probably the most mainstream-friendly type of wrestling in a "take your friend who has never really liked wrestling and they will probably have a good time" way

Triple A 12-25-2020 05:32 AM

Nobody thinks wrestling is real... Trying extremely hard to pretend that it is and never doing anything "silly" has limited appeal imo...

Mr. Nerfect 12-25-2020 09:01 AM

PWG does not have mainstream appeal. When you don’t even try on your performance to engage your audience genuinely, you are not keeping your end of the bargain. It appeals to hardcore wrestling fans in a bubble who feel let in on the ironic joke of wrestling that parodies wrestling. No one else sees the point.

It’s why 1.25 million people tuned out of AEW after the NBA lead-in.

I can't stand wrestling fans today. Most of you guys go way back and are not of this current era. I see so many clinging to one set of letters blindly. It could be AEW, NXT or WWE. It doesn't matter, clinging to and claiming one entire brand is "the best" is bullshit. I don't watch any WWE anymore but I don't claim that AEW is the best. AEW has aspects that are the absolute shits. They have other aspects that are keeping me engaged with pro wrestling still. Usually I "agree" with about 70% of what I get from AEW, on a bad week it's about 50/50. I quit watching WWE because the ratio would be around 10% of what I was getting I was in agrreance with, sometimes less. Twitter wrestlingverse is painful and pathetic. The fake "clout" that twitter tools amass from their fandom and blind product worship is probably one of the worst parts of the buisness today. If a company is truly making a product for their loyal fan base, then they are having to bend the knee to the lowest level of comic con neck beards of any product there is. Wrestling fans used to be normal people who had regular lives. Now we have a gigantic propertion of fans who only wear black wrestling t-shirts with their favorite Joshi wank, grown men who devote their bank account to amassing every single piece of merchandise their hard for hero releases, people who seclude themselves in a room full of pizza boxes and TOYS to play crash bam wham with figures meant for children. If the TV advertising was smart they would be able to milk these fans for everything they have if they just threw a Joshi fuck doll or a TNA Knock Out as the face of their products. I used to think that I was the biggest possible fan as I was growing up but now, these trolls got me topped 100x over.

Jordan 12-26-2020 01:05 PM

Prob should have posted this is 100,000. Also Sasha Banks fans are fucking psycho.

Wrestling Twitter is a dreadful place for the most part.

Mr. Nerfect 12-26-2020 06:41 PM

Wrestling fans are a big part of the reason wrestling is terrible.

AEW is a manifestation of a lot of that.

Mr. Nerfect 12-27-2020 05:34 PM

Dylan Bostic confirmed Rip Rogers’ story. Rogers doesn’t have the reputation of being a liar, but it’s much easier to attack people with anything bad to say about AEW than it is to accept any negative word about them.

This is why AEW fandom is so annoying to some. I’d be surprised if Meltzer covered this like he would if any other company made this sort of fucked up move. But I doubt Smeat has got it in him to admit he was wrong, AEW is in the wrong and Meltzer is in the wrong if he doesn’t call them on it.

Fuck AEW.

Mr. Nerfect 12-27-2020 05:59 PM

AEW talent and fans are now piling on Bostic because he dared speak out about his treatment there.

Ricky Starks and Joey Janela are two of the pieces of shit trying to stop this guy telling his own fucking story. They can go straight in the trash.

Emperor Smeat 12-27-2020 06:00 PM

I'm still waiting on some responses from a few people within wrestling that I asked about. Mostly to get the full story since one other person hinted there was more to the story than what Rip stated. Even Bostic's statement is different than what was mentioned by that person.

Nothing popped up regarding Flash Flanagan while until today the only claim in Bostic's favor was a short clip of him being involved in Darby Allin's body bag entrance from a show last year.

Rogers claims about AEW shortchanging them also didn't match with what others have been saying for some time, both who have worked for AEW and within the sheets, about how AEW pays people for work.

Shut the fuck up, dude. This is a shitty company that dicked around a dude on pay. Keep licking those boots. I bet if the WWE didn’t pay a local talent you’d be all over this.

Emperor Smeat 12-27-2020 06:14 PM

Nah you shut the fuck up. I gave an answer since you brought up my name in your post.

Him tagging Cornette and not Khan should have been a clue what was his true purpose was for the response. Plus his story has holes in it since he says he "bumped" for AEW while the person who said there was more to the story says he didn't do any ring work.

WWE has cut pay before for local talents.

Emperor Smeat 12-27-2020 06:40 PM

Voices of Wrestling stated that the paying rate for extras was $80 for the other nights he worked based on their sources.
