Seriously, having their PPVs in movie theaters was one of the dumbest ideas TNA has ever had... and that's saying something.

WWE creative is having a hard time coming up with a finish for the Ryback vs. CM Punk match at Hell In a Cell.

They don't want to have Ryback lose but also do not want to switch the WWE Championship before the Royal Rumble in January. They also don't want to end the pay-per-view with a screwjob and obviously can't do a disqualification finish inside the Cell. Officials also do not want to end the show with Big Show versus Sheamus so it appears they are going to end up having to do something that they do not want to do.

There has been a lot of online speculation about Brock Lesnar interfering to cost Ryback the match with the idea of Ryback vs. Lesnar at WrestleMania 29. This would create a number of issues including messing up plans for Triple H's revenge on Lesnar and the extra cost of using Lesnar on another pay-per-view above what he is contracted for.
Looks like the WWE realizes they goofed up a bit having Ryback's first high profile match occur in a cage.

Saw this on the Yahoo front page, probably already posted but i'm too lazy to check.

Have 3MB interfere as Ryback has some history with Mahal and Slater. Also, with 3MB doing three on one attacks, it could be said that the reason for the attack is 3MB wanting to "make an impact" and show how good they are. The usual reasons for heel group attacks. Ryback is in the ring being attacked and CM Punk escapes the cell and he locks the cell again, trapping Ryback in with 3MB.

Ryback then fights back and 3MB realise that they're locked in and screwed. Ryback demolishes 3MB as CM Punk and Heyman run away.

It's not the best finish in the world but that way, Punk remains champion and gets even more heat for being a coward, Ryback doesn't suffer a loss and he looks good and dominant anyway, destroying three guys at once.

After that, you can get a few matches out of it on the following Raw's such as Ryback vs 3MB or Team CoBro & Ryback vs 3MB. Also, Ryback could then get a rematch for the title on Raw in which he wins via DQ.

Emperor Smeat 10-20-2012 03:43 PM

Would also work if they have a tease segment with Heyman who talks to them as a way to plant the seeds for the possible attack as well.

Lesnar interfering would literally be the best option possible but too bad it seems like the WWE is really unwilling to do because they want him saved just for Triple H's potential revenge. Could have easily teased Lesnar vs Ryback or more Punk vs Ryback (Lesnar splits since he never cared about Punk and Heyman is happy his man is back).

Vastardikai 10-20-2012 03:50 PM

Punk manages to bust Ryback open. Head of GA State Athletic Commission tries to call off the match as Ryback starts to come back. Head of the Athletic Commission grabs the hammer from the time keeper just as Ryback hits Shellshock. He goes for the cover, the crowd goes 1..2..bell rings. Punk retains by cheap stoppage.

I just ripped off a Flair-Luger finish, there...

James Steele mentioned something about having Punk and Heyman pay off the ref and do a fast count (Maybe that same ref they had issues with weeks ago). As far as the end of the match, that's the best idea I've heard since Ryback could just pop right back up and still come off as an "unbeatable" machine without Punk losing the title.

That of course would be a shitty finish to the PPV though so they'd still need something with Lesnar and Ryback I think. I don't know. Even if it's by a shitload of cheating and interference you can't have Ryback get legit pinned. A fast count still leaves the question of "What does it take to actually pin this guy for a 3 count?"

#1-norm-fan 10-20-2012 04:15 PM

And Triple H does not need revenge. They need to not let that feud come back. It served the purpose of making Lesnar look terrifying by what he did to Triple H, getting a win after the Cena loss and hyping him up more for a WrestleMania match. Another match serves no purpose. Just like Triple H getting revenge by winning at SummerSlam would have served no purpose. Ryback vs Lesnar is a MUCH better option.

WWE would never do anything like that but I have to say, I like that idea. Yeah it's a rip off of Flair-Luger but it's not like it happens all the time and no one would see it coming.

Someone posted an excellent "out" for the situation they've found themselves in by making it a triple threat with Punk defending against Ryback and Cena. It was probably Noid.

A bit half asses? When I got a certificate in primary school it was a classier affair. the fact folks arrives wearing T-Shirts further exposed it for the non event it was.

BFG was amazing imo, this shambles was the only fail of the weekend.

So it doesn't look like Cena will be ready for Hell in a Cell. Worried that they're gonna fuck up Punk vs Ryback.

Ideally, I'd have Vince make it a triple threat anyway while everyone keeps dropping hints that Cena isn't heeled and shouldn't go. Then pretty much as soon as the match starts Cena takes a safe bump head first into the cell and sells the injury outside the ring. All the while Ryback and Punk are going at it with Punk getting his ass beat but every once in a while using his brain to get a momentary upper hand. Cena gets back up on the apron only to get knocked back into the cell and sell the injury for a while again.

EMTs enter the cage to take Cena away but he comes to and refuses to leave the match while Punk and Ryback go at it. Suddenly through the cell door that was opened for the EMTs to come through, Brock Lesnar runs through the crowd and enters the cell. Ryback turns to him and he stops in his tracks and they just stare each other down while behind Ryback CM Punk pulls the EMTs away and kicks a recovering Cena in the back of the head and gets the pin before running out of the cell, grabbing his title and getting out of town as Ryback realizes what has happened and Lesnar steps out of the ring too, laughing as he backs down the aisle staring at Ryback as the show ends.

Everyone still looks good, Punk retains, Ryback doesn't lose the slightest bit of momentum and Cena shows "heart" while not really risking further injury by getting involved too much.

This has to have a Dusty finish. By that I mean Dusty Rhodes comes down to the ring and destroys everyone making it a no contest. Then he challenges Undertaker to a match at Rasslemania and Undertaker says no thanks.

whiteyford 10-20-2012 06:50 PM

Dunno why but the "no thanks" part I found hilarious.

I was saying all along it should be a triple threat. Punk pins Cena after Ryback clotheslines Cena by accident. Ryback stays unpinned, punk still hasn't beaten cena straight up to get his respect and he keeps the belt.
