Dave, and all Denver Bronco fans, I empathize with with your experience tonight. I hope that you can enjoy what was a successful season and that you have had plenty moments of elation and joy this year. I can't wish you the best of luck next year, because I'm rooting for the Bengals! Here's hoping that you get healthy, and better in this off season.

No I don't blame you I certainly can see your whole argument here. I think it's sort of similar to the way I feel when I hear people say the same things about Tom Brady being the greatest ever, so I don't hold that against you a bit.

Honestly tonight didn't bother me as much as I thought it would, perhaps because I have been expecting that game to happen for the last two rounds and it finally did, but I really have no joy or elation about this season. It didn't end with a championship so it'll rank right there with the Griese, Tebow, Orton, Plummer and Cutler seasons. I'd like to think Elway learned what a championship team looked like tonight but I fear they'll just add more passing offense and hope to try to score even more.

I hope the same for your Bengals my friend.

Droford 02-03-2014 12:12 AM

Peyton - We just weren't sharp.

Understatement..

Hey they beat Atl in white. Was kind of hoping Sherman or one of the Legion of Boom would pull a Eugene Robinson this time.

Evil Vito 02-03-2014 12:13 AM

So uhhhhh...the Broncos are set to play at Seattle next season. Does the NFL dare put that as the NFL Kickoff game after this mess? If not I'd say they'll put Green Bay in there, if only because I think they'll save Niners/Seahawks for Sundays.

Droford 02-03-2014 12:18 AM

It almost has to be the 49ers

Evil Vito 02-03-2014 12:25 AM

For some reason I can see NBC requesting to save the primetime San Fran/Seattle game they will certainly get for later in the season. Then the other one would be a "FOX Game of the Week" at some point.

#1-norm-fan 02-03-2014 12:34 AM

It'll probably be Dallas. The NFL seems to love putting them in primetime games in week one. Usually in shitty situations like the 10th anniversary of 9/11 in New York and opening night against the Super Bowl champs.

And you deflect poorly at that. Kinda like you're trying to deflect from this lame argument you made every time I've called you on it.

You claim Peyton had a great team because they were 12-4 but couldn't win championships because Peyton didn't elevate them to it.

Fine. I'll claim that the Patriots were already a championship team during that 4 year period and Brady didn't elevate them.

I've got perennial 11 win seasons with a 2-14 season for Indy without Peyton and perennial 11 win seasons with another 11 win season without Brady for New England to show that Peyton VASTLY improved his team and Brady didn't.

You have "Super bowl rings" because that's the simplest thing you can wrap your head around when it comes to judging a single player in a team sport.

So let's just end this once and for all. Superbowl Titles means more to me. Stats means more to you. When I am talking about the best, fuck records, fuck statsistics. I only give a fuck about championships, because that is what will stand the test of time. Every record can and will be broken. make any argument about teams, and wins and losses that you want.

Call me when Peyton wins another title.

#1-norm-fan 02-03-2014 12:42 AM

So there you go.

James Steele, shut the fuck up. I've tolerated your goddam stupidity for long enough. Who have I rooted for? The Cincinnati Bengals. That is it and that is all. I enjoy the brilliance that is Tom Brady and I respect what the patriots have done.

I watch NFL as a Bengals fan and a fan of the game. The shit you're bringing this way is best directed at someone else.

You twat, I said it earlier. Just because you don't comprehend how that is such a defining statistic is more a damming observation of your lack of understanding of the game than anything else.

Droford 02-03-2014 12:48 AM

I like how NFL network has a video package already done about Manning's legacy with only 1 super bowl. I guess we'll never see the one they did about Manning finally winning another one.

How does Bronco Nation really feel about Elway? He seems to have an ego about him, a 'I wanna do this MY way' type of thing about him.

I like the defense, the Line backers are friggin sick. What do you think is the most glaring need? I'm thinking that Cornerback is a must have right now. Depth at pass rusher seems like a priority. Of course the elephant in the room is the health of QB18. If/when he can't do it anymore, what is the contingency? Should Denver gamble and get a qb to groom? Is Brock the QBOTF? there are some questions that Elway has to answer, and in short order.

Droford 02-03-2014 12:52 AM

Also, I'm going to assume they will come back to NY for another Super Bowl. Aside from the actual game itself being crap, everything for the last two weeks seemed to go off without a hitch.

Probably shot this one first, watched it, and realized that there was no need to do another.

Yes. I'm able to grasp more than the concept of team championships when it comes to individual skill. As anyone with half a brain should be able to do.

After a debilitating two inches of snow, I'm positive that Atlanta won't host one anytime soon.

They'll be super prepared next time, though!

If someone brought this up already I apologize, but this #boycottcoke thing on Facebook and twitter over the commercial is hilarious to me.

People in America think America the Beautiful is our National Anthem. I'm amused and saddened at the same time.

I bet that guy is glad he went through to trouble of getting his voice heard by so many people so he could express that completely groundbreaking theory that's gonna make the entire world stop and question everything.

James Steele 02-03-2014 01:04 AM

I think John Elway will fix the issues. The main issues is they need a speed/burner WR, and work on the DE and CBs. Von Miller hopefully will recover and be able to play at the same level. I'd draft a QB too.

Krimzon7 02-03-2014 01:06 AM

Happy to see Ray Guy going into the HoF. Also happy to see Walter Jones go in. Love it when Offensive Linemen get rewarded.

Droford 02-03-2014 01:08 AM

What..Brock..Osweiler isn't the future if the Denver Broncos ?

James Steele 02-03-2014 01:10 AM

If the Broncos are smart, they'll draft Blake Bortles. He is going to make a franchise very happy.

For the offense that Denver runs, their receivers are pitch perfect. all of the combination Routes, not to mention the crossing/pick routes, don't necessarily garner a need for straight line speed. WR is perhaps the last position that they need to address. If they find a burner in the later rounds, so be it. I really think that Champ may hang it up. He was injured more than active this year and I think he realized that he's hung around too long(hate to see him go, he's a class act). CB, DT, seem to be of paramount importance. a backup QBOTF is of Tantamount importance, and speed is tertiary. But what the fuck do I know?

They're projecting Brotles to Minnesota, if i'm not mistaken. He's working himself into a top pick.

James Steele 02-03-2014 01:46 AM

Because BLAKE FUCKING BORTLES is the FUCKING MAN.

James Steele 02-03-2014 01:46 AM

Denver needs a WR who can get off of man coverage.

Droford 02-03-2014 01:58 AM

I was able to get out via train at Wrestlemania without waiting 90 minutes..probably 20 at the most

I guess Chris Christie is to blame

Kris P Lettus 02-03-2014 02:17 AM

I love most of you broncos fans here (SHOUTOUT DAVEBRAWL) but LOL Jesus Christ what a colossal failure that whole games was.

I hope Peyton comes back.

Droford 02-03-2014 02:21 AM

It'd be funny if he comes back for one more year only to lose in the Super Bowl again and pull a reverse Elway..

Kris P Lettus 02-03-2014 02:47 AM

you should book the nfl droford

and you should tell roxer who the most handsome man in the mlb is

Droford 02-03-2014 04:46 AM

Seahawks Def Coordinator Dan Quinn said he would have taken the Browns coaching job if they had waited til after the Super Bowl to ask/hire

I feel bad for him, but I bet Cleveland feels even worse..

Fignuts 02-03-2014 05:05 AM

Well, shit.

It's because I moved to Colorado. I brought the horrible, depressing frustration of being a Bills fan, and like some sort of curse, it's infected the Denver Broncos.

To be fair, Denver knows more about losing (5) Super Bowls than Buffalo (4) being outscored 206-58 in those 5 losses. Buffalo actually scored more in their 4 losses, being outscored 139-73.

Fignuts 02-03-2014 05:23 AM

Losing 5 separate times certainly is frustrating.

But I don't think it's quite as infuriating as losing 4 straight. And at least Denver won a couple.
