With his current character I don't see the issue with it. And his only tweet is I'm the tag team champions when I checked yesterday, so yeah.

Per the Wrestling Observer RAW scored a 2.48 rating.

With the Presidential debate, MNF and the start of the World Series hunt this can't be much of a surprise.

I guess it's my opinion of not having him as a comedy character getting in the way.

WWE has failed so miserably at keeping monster characters interesting for a really long time. This is probably best for Kane. It's a role he's never really gotten the opportunity to play and he's showing that he's quite good at it.

This was an unusually entertaining match

I need to make more of a point to watch SMS. That was awesome.

#1-norm-fan 10-24-2012 12:53 AM

The other matches I've seen from it have been pretty unique and fun as well.

Schlomey 10-24-2012 01:22 AM

It was unique but a good match is not what I'd call it. The one vs dolph ...ya that's a good match.

#1-norm-fan 10-24-2012 02:04 AM

Sure it was good. Why does "good" have to = technically sound? It was more entertaining that nearly every generic, by the book, same old same old match on WWE TV nowadays. I find myself zoning out during most matches on WWE TV. Even the "technically good" ones because they're formulaic and they don't serve any purpose in the big picture. This didn't serve much of a purpose outside showcasing the Bryan/Kane relationship while giving Bryan kind of an easy win to make him look good but it wasn't formulaic.

Corporate CockSnogger 10-24-2012 04:27 AM

That was a fun little match actually. The curling up in a ball thing was really good. Santino is probably the worst commentator I've ever heard though, does he do SMS every week?

Cool King 10-24-2012 04:48 AM

I watched SMS for the first two weeks, then I just forgot about it. :-\

I've still yet to watch Main Event though. At first I thought it would be something like Superstars where there would be about two matches and the rest of the time would be dedicated to recaps of Raw and SmackDown.

But now that a title changed hands on the show last week, I doubt that's it's anything like I thought, so I'll have to make time to watch it now.

People close to Ric Flair are saying that he will be returning to WWE at the October 29th RAW from Charlotte, North Carolina. The belief is that he will be getting involved in the storyline with AJ Lee, Vickie Guerrero and John Cena.

We've noted before that there have been rumblings of Flair returning but the lawsuit from TNA was preventing that. Flair has canceled at least one upcoming independent wrestling appearance that was booked in North Carolina.

Main Event is pretty great

loopydate 10-24-2012 09:56 AM

I honestly enjoy Main Event more than Raw right now. The stories are always really focused, since they're really only telling one per week, and the main event match itself is usually really good.

Dark One 10-24-2012 10:11 AM

That Daniel Bryan airplane spin gives me nightmares about the time I was at a show and saw him get a pin in a cage match with Homicide via a 90 second Airplane Spin.

That's what the show ended on. I was not amused.

Like loopy said, as a wrestling show I think it's better than Raw. There's an order to it that is just amazing for today's WWE. Makes everything seem so major and the "main event first, secondary match second" and setting up next week's main event aspects make it seem old school. If they could give a good format and order to Raw and Smackdown like this, people would actually be getting over.

#1-norm-fan 10-24-2012 11:13 AM

And SMS oddly enough ends up supplying some fun matches via the whole "we gotta work this match kid friendly" thing. Kofi and Heath Slater put on an oddly good match on the first episode as well. It's like the inability to use certain moves forced an interesting pace to the match. It's tough to explain.

CSL 10-24-2012 12:08 PM

they just actually work holds on SMS and don't necessarily have to use a guys finish as the finish, it's fun to see on TV in 2012

#1-norm-fan 10-24-2012 12:39 PM

It does come off as a very old school WWF style. They should take note and work some matches like that into the main shows to break up the monotony of the usual matches we see on Raw and Smackdown.

GD 10-24-2012 12:54 PM

Apparently it's going to be Night of Champions at Hell in a Cell with all the belts being defended.

Juan 10-24-2012 12:58 PM

I've always thought that all the belts should be defended at every PPV

whiteyford 10-24-2012 01:01 PM

What Juan said.

GD 10-24-2012 01:10 PM

I am also glad that only the WWE Championship match will be contested under the Hell in a Cell structure. But at the same time, it doesn't deserve to be a "Hell in a Cell" match.

The rivalry between Sheamus and Big Show has had a decent buildup (with the exception of the debate) for about 6 weeks now. If a match deserves to be a "Hell in a Cell" match it is the World Heavyweight Championship match. But it's probably going to open the show or something.

Supreme Olajuwon 10-24-2012 01:25 PM

The only match that deserved to be in the cell was Punk/Cena, and it was perfectly set up for that before Cena had surgery. So they're going with what they have.

GD 10-24-2012 01:38 PM

That doesn't seem reasonable at all.

Didn't they do that every time the brands would co-host a ppv and shortly after getting rid of brand specific ppvs?

I think they dropped that after realizing they had way too many titles and barely any ppv time for non-title feuds.

It's weird because they now have the same amount of titles today as they did during the Attitude Era, and back then, they'd have PPV's where all the titles were defended, and there'd still be plenty of time for non-title matches. They just can't seem to do that nowadays.
