Shit happens. It's the human element of baseball. Deal with it.

ClockShot 10-15-2010 07:45 PM

Offseason hiring gets underway with the Mariners naming Eric Wedge as their new Manager.

Aguakate 10-15-2010 08:27 PM

Yes! Rangers off and running, 3-0.

Nervous Ferret 10-15-2010 08:46 PM

Great play by Sabbathia to end the first. Guarantee he settles down and throws 5 or 6 great innings.

Nervous Ferret 10-15-2010 08:47 PM

Could have been so much worse than 3 runs.

Aguakate 10-15-2010 08:50 PM

Yeah, big dude is athletic.

Hope Wilson holds up and throws 6 or 7 good innings.

McLegend 10-15-2010 10:51 PM

Yankees are going to win this game.

Triple Naitch 10-15-2010 10:59 PM

Bases loaded, no outs for A-Rod. HOY BOY.

McLegend 10-15-2010 11:00 PM

A-Rod will hit Grand Slam.

McLegend 10-15-2010 11:01 PM

That still sucks.

McLegend 10-15-2010 11:09 PM

Does Ron Washington plan on using his whole pitching staff in this 8th inning?

Emperor Smeat 10-15-2010 11:12 PM

:nono: Texas.

Coming into the series, majority of analysts said the bullpen of Texas would determine the series and right now they are failing badly.

ESPN tried to hype up as Game 1 being a game to "steal" for the Yankees even though Yankees were the favorites and put their best pitcher. Game 2 would have made better sense to claim as a "steal".

McLegend 10-15-2010 11:31 PM

Lol Kinsler.

Posada couldn't throw out his own Mother so there's no need to get a great jump.

Evil Vito 10-15-2010 11:31 PM

This pretty much guarantees the Yankees will be in the World Series again. :nono:

Triple Naitch 10-15-2010 11:36 PM

Yeah, gotta guarantee Cliff Lee is gonna be pitching 0-2 in the series.

McLegend 10-16-2010 12:01 AM

Yeah just give Rivera a free out in the 9th. That sounds like a good idea to me.

Evil Vito 10-16-2010 12:20 AM

I'm done with baseball this year.

Any shred of hope I had that the Rangers could maybe score an upset series win got dashed tonight, this is the kind of loss that completely fucks you the rest of the way. Lee's mind is probably already made up after that debacle.

And I have no hope for the Giants beating the Phillies after barely winning all of their games against the Braves (see: the Brooks Conrad Factor). So the 2 teams I hate most are going to be playing in the World Series yet again. Since I had no expectations for my own team this year, my only hope going in was that the Yankees or Phillies didn't win the WS. Fuck it.

See you guys once the offseason thread starts up.

McLegend 10-16-2010 12:22 AM

You'll be back.

You like the pain.

RoXer 10-16-2010 12:59 AM

What? I stopped watching because it was like 6-0

Aguakate 10-16-2010 02:26 AM

Unbelievable.

Juan 10-16-2010 02:54 AM

I'm not a great baseball mind or anything, but I think this was the Rangers best chance to win the series. Beating CC would have been huge for Texas

Snowden 10-16-2010 03:47 AM

As silly as this may sound, the Yankees absolutely need both of these games in Texas. You've gotta figure they're losing to Lee, even with Pettite on the mound, and if they lose even tomorrow's game, they'll probs be down 2-1 going into game 4.

As a Yankee fan I absolutely love the comeback, but this win does NOT mean the series is over, far from it.

Hardkore Kidd J 10-16-2010 05:42 AM

I was almost sure they were done. When I saw that Texas was leading 5 -1 in the 7th I went to bed. I didn't think it was possible for the Yankees to come back and win this.

Triple Naitch 10-16-2010 10:18 AM

The one good thing that the Rangers can take from this game is that they proved they can hit CC Sabathia pretty well. They need to remember that if there's gonna be a game 5.

Nervous Ferret 10-16-2010 12:22 PM

Love Phil Hughes so much. Probably my favorite Yankee after Mariano. His two starts @ Texas in his career were great. Hope he does well :)

ClockShot 10-16-2010 01:51 PM

Anybody got Cablevision? You're gonna be S.O.L if you want to watch the NLCS start tonight.

Nervous Ferret 10-16-2010 04:58 PM

Yankees down early...just shock me...

Aguakate 10-16-2010 06:16 PM

7-1 is not the same as 5-1. Never say never, but I don't think the Yankees are going to win tonight.

If the Yankees want to win this series, they can't keep on getting behind early...just 'cause they won last night doesn't mean they can keep doing it.

(As Aguakate wrote this, Robinson Cano hits a Home Run and makes the game 7-2).

Damn.

DaveWadding 10-16-2010 09:12 PM

Cody Ross > Roy Halladay

Juan 10-16-2010 09:44 PM

Fuck

James Steele 10-16-2010 09:56 PM

Fear The Beard!

OssMan 10-16-2010 10:45 PM

Why is Fox playing the football theme, or do they do this for every baseball game and I haven't noticed.

I think it's a generic Fox Sports theme. They've used it for baseball for as long as I can remember.

Tb1 10-16-2010 10:48 PM

Yeah that's been confusing me. Dunno. Can't watch this inning, gonna pass out

DaveWadding 10-16-2010 10:58 PM

Brian Wilson's beard seems so silky, yet manly.

Tb1 10-16-2010 10:59 PM

Beautiful. Huge win

Aguakate 10-16-2010 11:01 PM

That's the great thing about the Playoffs, any guy can have a huge night, help his team win when it matters the most, and it doesn't necessarily have to be a star. It can be who you least expect it.

Great win for the Giants.

McLegend 10-17-2010 12:01 AM

Offense has to stop sucking.

Brian Wilson's beard is terrible. It's not even funny.
