Weird that WWE will essentially have 2 indie sized brands. They should do an under 18's division that works out of high school gyms and get all the sizes covered.

God, I wish they would just scrap 205 Live. But I was thinking last night that I can see them adding moref "brands" over the course of the next year or so. Something like an indy alternative that allows NXT to remain as it is with smaller venues that they try to get onto television. I can also see them trying to start up their own lucha league or Spanish language show, which I think is doomed to fail.

I think this 205 Live brand thing very quickly changes to become something else entirely. More inclusive, so to speak.

I got confused between the names of the places. MetLife is what I meant. I've also expected WrestleMania in Phoenix for some time, so it's odd you mention that Jericho is in Phoenix in 2018.

Oh, I disagree with that. I'd keep the UK Championship and just have Pete Dunne wrestle Tyler Bate on PPVs that could use a little something extra. But yes, there shock and awe treatment towards branding is frustrating as a "purist" or whatever. Especially when you consider everything does largely have a WWE stink on it, because Vince is a control freak. At least when Coke branches out and does all its varieties they appeal to different demographics instead of just the same hardcore over 50 fan base. And then they've got water and energy drinks, which is different from the usual soda yet again, and some people probably even realize they dabble in that.

Only way the 205 Live tours are going to have a chance to succeed is if WWE removes the current restrictions and the watered down cruiser style done for the division.

Wonder if this is also WWE's way of keeping the division happy since supposedly they don't work on house shows and likely only get paid for the week if they are used on RAW and/or 205 Live.

Apparently both Kevin Owens and his wife's Instagram accounts got hacked recently with someone trying to ruin Owens' marriage with fake cheating accusations.

Both denied it being true and Owens got rid of his Instagram account after getting it back because he was pissed at the hate being thrown towards his family.

Was probably revenge from Shane McMahon after he and Sami Zayn screwed him at Hell In A Cell. Can't imagine what he has in store for Sami.

Why do people actually think this will work? The problem isn't that these guys have bad matches. It that's that they have zero stakes and are all booked to be geeks. Making it even more of a stunt show when it is already basically a stunt-show is not going to make anything any better. Plus, bigger guys draw better. There's no one larger than life in that division other than Enzo Amore. He should probably be the lead heel manager and have a heel factory to go against Hideo Itami, who should just kick them all in the head really hard.

I hope it works out. The guys on the 205 Live roster deserve it

WWE gimmick matches largely seem to be watered down and executed poorly. But Reigns seems to excel in them. Ditto for The Usos.

But then thinking about it, The Rock, Umaga, and Rikishi all seemed to always perform well when put into the confines of a gimmick match.

Must be something in the bloodline.

You are right on both counts. I'm torn between the roster having the potential to be good if they were allowed to break the mold, but I actually think that is how they think. Look at Cody Rhodes leaving and repeating Vince McMahonisms like they are somehow profound. Honestly think they think they are doing "good" work.

Cody has been doing good work. Not great work, but good solid work. And that's a lot better than what he was accomplishing at the end of his WWE run.

Yeah, and between New Japan and PROGRESS (along with random shows of other UK indies), I'm probably enjoying wrestling more now than I have in the past 15 years at least.

If you can find somewhere to watch PROGRESS from Chapter 1, it's worth it. You actually get to see long term booking play out, something which WWE hasn't done in years.

Oh, I also need to check out Defiant Wrestling who rebranded from WCPW. They've got money to chuck around with Wade Barrett as the authority figure and doing an IPW invasion. Austin Aries ran in on a match on their first show.

I second this. It's so refreshing to see a product that can actually get fans emotionally invested. Their on demand service is only 7.50 and worth every cent.

Fignuts, I used to love you, and I'm sure you're a great guy, but lately I have disagreed with every opinion you have on just about everything. Kane could still talk menacingly or organically. He could say "I'm going to hurt you" or something, as opposed to "we will enter the abyss and only one shall emerge." Aimed at kids doesn't mean it has to be hack. Kids aren't as stupid as you or mike adamle.

Everyone works hard. It's endearing, but hard work is only part of performance. It's a big part, but other things merit fruit a lot more.

It'd be amazing how much things would change if people could cut their own promos. People were actually comparing The Miz's Talking Smack promo to "Hard Times" because it had been so long since they heard one.

It may be PG but that doesn't mean it's kids programming. Kids programming in rated G. To ignore the fact that adults watch is moronic. Also, as much as it pains me to agree with Noid (LOL) kids like good t.v. as much as anyone. I mean, they'll also accept shit, but that doesn't mean you have to set the bar low.
