Optimus Bone 69 07-01-2012 09:26 PM

Met Jim Starlin at gasgow comic con today classy guy did sketches and signings for free while an indie scottish guy charged £10-£15 quid, got to him just before he went to a panel
long story short he spelled my name wrong didnt have time to do another so he signed and gave me an amazing thanos sketch he was selling for £95 what a fecking result
Also hadt some interesting things to say about spiderman movie rights
said that each comic ie Amazing & Spectacular and the rest were sold seperately and that James Cameron still owns one!!!
also said he really really didnt care for the new movie
great guy think he was surprised by how terrible Glasgow comic con was

Kalyx triaD 07-01-2012 09:32 PM

The Spidey rights thing is very interesting indeed, particularly in wake of my recent speculations.

Prisoner of War

Optimus Bone 69 07-01-2012 09:41 PM

If correct it is he said an incarnation of Spidey is legally possible in an FF movie or the avengers but who knows if its true

I'm a few episodes ahead because of this stream site.

But that is a great episode.

Marvel Comics working on a Thanos origin story.

Fignuts 07-03-2012 03:09 AM

Very Jealous of Optimus right now, Thanos being my favorite villain ever.

Don't particularly care for the fact that they are making a Thanos origin story. Feel like we already know just enough to understand his motivation, yet still keep that mystique about him.

Fignuts 07-03-2012 03:09 AM

Same feelings toward Rise of Apocalypse really.

dronepool 07-03-2012 03:34 AM

EMH: New Avengers was awesome. Fuck everyone involved in canceling this show.

Kalyx triaD 07-03-2012 04:08 AM

>> Marvel.

Still hate Spidey's Ultimate voice but Grimm and Wolverine were cool. FASTBALL SPECIAL.

Fignuts 07-03-2012 04:10 AM

Have had no interest in DC comics since new 52, but animated stuff is fantastic. Exact opposite with marvel.

Krimzon7 07-03-2012 03:26 PM

New Iron Man?

Link to the article to go along with that picture.

Only Hickman's Avengers doesn't make me go "hmm, sounds bad". And not liking some of the designs in that image.

Concept art from Iron Man 3 shows new armor pieces:

Fignuts 07-04-2012 12:57 AM

Looks closer in style to the bleeding edge armor, than the extremis.

Nowhere Man 07-04-2012 01:11 AM

True, but the Extremis armor looked pretty close to the movie armor already, so I guess they needed to pick one that looks significantly different.

Fignuts 07-04-2012 01:15 AM

I do love the helmet for extremis though. Hope they at least keep that.

"Item 47", the Marvel short-film to be added to Avengers DVDs:

A down-on-their-luck couple, Claire (Lizzy Caplan) and Benny (Jesse Bradford), get their hands on it and "proceed to make some incredibly bad decisions." Meanwhile, two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents try to track the gun down: one played by Maximiliano Hernández, who appeared in The Avengers, and a new one played by Titus Welliver, aka the Smoke Monster from Lost.

Smoke monster dies

This looks cool.

Shadow 07-04-2012 07:05 PM

What gun is that?

One of the Not-Skrull guns?

Kalyx triaD 07-04-2012 07:39 PM

Yes, a Chitauri weapon.

Shadow 07-04-2012 07:58 PM

Nice.

Also the end of AvX has been leaked. Jean Grey does come back...but it's a version of her from the past.

*headesks*

Kalyx triaD 07-04-2012 08:00 PM

You guys could really give a fuck about spoilers, huh? Not that I personally care for comic spoilers, but somebody around here probably did.

Blitz 07-04-2012 11:20 PM

Shadow is just retarded. You should know that by now.

They already opened Pandora's Box with making an origin story for the biggest mystery of all in Wolverine. If Marvel pulled the trigger on that, anything after that has to be considered fair game.

I will say that it's funny how the reasoning behind said origin story (paraphrased: "so Hollywood won't mess it up") was 100% negated with the movie.

Yeah, but wolverine is arguably the most popular marvel character there is, outside of spider-man. And the whole memory wipe thing was pushed so hard that eventually they really HAD to do an origin story.

Not the case with Thanos.

Not necessarily part of AvX, as it's not been leaked. It's been announced my Marvel themselves as part of a post-AvX series and was mentioned in that article I linked. Can't see them ruining the ending of their own event somehow.

Kalyx triaD 07-05-2012 04:05 AM

All New X-Men, I think.

The Destroyer 07-05-2012 02:39 PM

That's the one.

they leak doesnt confirm anything.... they havnt said if its a flashback or what

Kalyx triaD 07-05-2012 03:57 PM

It's definitely Jean Grey, she's definitely from the past. She'll be with the other original X-Men.

Blitz 07-06-2012 01:08 AM

Awesome medieval Avengers art, spoiler tagged for shit connections.

Kalyx triaD 07-06-2012 01:55 AM

You'd think Thor and Loki would look the same. Also World War Hulk. But they all look cool. Love the 'Iron Mage' concept.

Kalyx triaD 07-06-2012 02:13 AM

Looking back I don't think you did. Sorry.

RP 07-06-2012 02:33 AM
