He actually looks like one of my friends, so I found it really hard to take him seriously. Not dopplegangers, but to the point where I used to think of him every time I saw Ted.

Who's watched the latest WWE 24? I knew Taker was pretty banged up but not so bad that he was limping before the match even started. Can see why he's done.

Owens, on the Kickoff show for the Rumble, actually said that he’d heard Peter Rosenberg paid for being on the pre-show and other appearances on the network. That has been one of those rumors for some time.
Ahaha. I wondered why they kept bringing an idiot like him on.

Yeah I'd really have been done to take the subway to get to Citi Field rather than however I'm going to get to Met Life.

Lucky you.

Which is funny because its 8.6 miles away from where I live... but its New York, and I live in Manhattan so of course I don't have a car. Damn buss life.

Anybody Thrilla 02-01-2018 08:45 AM

Zelena Vega is special. What a talent.

Every time I've gone to NY I stay in NJ and take the train into Penn Station. I'm guessing NXT / Raw / SD will be at Barclays.
I'm probably not going to stay for Raw and SD though

I realised today that there were no Cruiserweights in the Royal Rumble this year and I'm not counting Rey Mysterio as he's not part of the division.

Cool King 02-01-2018 03:15 PM

Also, nobody seems to have mentioned it but when Beth Phoenix entered the Royal Rumble Match, she became the first person to ever appear in both a men's and women's Royal Rumble Match, and she'll most likely be the only person to ever do that, unless Kharma makes a return, which I really can't see happening.

Cool King 02-01-2018 03:15 PM

I also found it pretty funny that Ric Flair dressed as Colonel Sanders looks exactly like Rolf Harris.

Not saying the segment was perfect. Rhonda's stiff as a board pointing was awkward to say the least, but she'll get coaching on that kind of stuff.

Who teaches the “Pointing at Signs 101” class at the PC?

They mentioned that she’d been in the Men’s Rumble on commentary. Can’t remember how much they harped on it though.

Evil Vito 02-01-2018 04:21 PM

Rookies from NXT Season One employed:
Daniel Bryan
David Otunga
Heath Slater

Rookies from NXT Season Two employed:
Bray Wyatt
Curtis Axel
Percy Watson
Titus O'Neil

Rookies from NXT Season Three employed:
Naomi

Rookies from NXT Season Four employed:
Byron Saxton
EC3
Fandango
Konnor

All things considered I'm shocked there are still this many around - although if you wanted to you could cross out Percy Watson and EC3 since they were both gone for ages.

Wonder who will stick around longest. Naomi is the youngest having only turned 30 in November, but I have to think eventually she'll leave the business once she and Jimmy Uso decide to start a family.

Bray's the second youngest, turns 31 in a few months. Probably a safe bet to be the last one actively competing in WWE of the group - even if they do absolutely nothing with his character they always like to keep around a token weirdo.

Axel and Titus are two guys I never thought would last this long but I think both have a good chance at landing jobs post in-ring career. Axel as a trainer and Titus as either a manager or ambassador.

Yeah they did, but they didn't mention that cool little fact about her being the first and only person to enter both the men and women's Royal Rumble matches.

That's a pretty neat thing to be able to claim.

If they did mention it though, I must have missed it as I was too interested in watching Beth Phoenix.

Percy Watson is still there?

He must be on NXT as I don't watch that.

I can definitely see Titus being an ambassador as from what I know, the man is gold for the company when it comes to that type of stuff. Especially when it involves children and parenting (mostly fathering).

Evil Vito 02-01-2018 04:35 PM

Yeah Percy was gone for a few years but he's back in NXT as a commentator. He's not very good.

Cool King 02-01-2018 04:46 PM

I wonder how that trend would go over time. The type of people to go to that sort of thing seem like the sort of people who would snatch up that sort of thing. Also, why aren't they subscribing to New Japan World?

Emperor Smeat 02-01-2018 08:40 PM

Seems Jason Jordan's current injury woes are way worse than originally expected. Instead of it being a regular back injury that just needed some extra rest, its a serious neck injury affecting the nerves as far down as his hands.

Whò says they aren't

Watched Royal Rumble 2007 for the first time. Good lord that Cena vs Umaga Last Man Standing match was fucking incredible.

I actually don't know if I've seen it. I hated Cena at the time, and I hated the Umaga gimmick. But both are incredible performers so I've been meaning to go back and check it out.

Mr. Nerfect 02-01-2018 10:08 PM

I was watching some Four Horsemen promos and Dean Malenko is in a few of them. Obviously not known for his personality, I couldn't help but think "He's actually not a bad talker by today's standards." Because everyone is given scripts and charisma is stifled. And the look isn't important anymore. And being in the Four Horsemen was still kind of cool and a pretty big push based on talent in a company and time where talent meant shit.

I dunno, I'm just spit-balling here, but I think if Dean Malenko were around today, he'd probably be given the NXT Title and be used in the main event scene today. Not sure if he would actually be WWE Champion, but it wouldn't shock me. Maybe I'm just being cynical about the lack of charisma in wrestling today.

It's absolutely amazing. Probably my favourite Cena match

Mr. Nerfect 02-01-2018 10:38 PM

Thanks for the recommendation. Umaga was actually a really good opponent for a lot of the "WWE prototype" guys. Or just guys they wanted to push. Did good stuff with Jeff Hardy too. One of the better "opponents" they had.

Evil Vito 02-01-2018 10:41 PM

I remember after over 3 years of being onscreen as a total savage, they sent Umaga to SmackDown and had him actually prove himself to be intelligent and he cut promos. Shame they didn't go anywhere with that before his release.

Bad News Gertner 02-01-2018 10:54 PM

Rumble 2007 is actually a pretty solid top to bottom ppv aside from the ECW title match between Test and Lashley

Bad News Gertner 02-01-2018 11:13 PM

Did the Bludgeon Brothers disappear or something

Emperor Smeat 02-01-2018 11:35 PM

They wrestled this week against jobbers with one being the brother of Drew Gulak.

Droford 02-02-2018 12:17 AM

Thdy have 95,000 subscribers and not sure how many of them are in the US, but for Wrestle Kingdom 11, they gained 10,000 new sub's and 55% were from the US.

I'd say if you were dedicated enough to use that shitty website, you night be dedicated enough to plan a vacation around the yearly NJPW show. I think AXS does good enough business for some too since Mark Cuban says it's one of the most popular things on his channel.

#1-norm-fan 02-02-2018 03:50 AM

Still watching old Raw from the beginning. Vince's first Raw back after the steroid trial is pretty hilarious commentary-wise. Savage constantly making references to Vince being found not guilty and Vince awkwardly just kinda ignoring it.
