Maybe they'll go with a "chaos" angle, where no one's in charge and all hell is breaking loose.

Honestly it would be a good way to send it to Mania.

It only took 8 months to exhaust the Rolodex of D-List celebrities on a weekly basis. Good to know.

I wouldn't be suprised if they had Austin do something like enstate Bret as fulltime guest host (just until Mania)

I say this, because it makes sense for their build, and the Guest Hosts have as much power as the writing team wants them to anyways

They didn't get Kathy Griffin...

Teddy Long apparently has power over the RAW titles, which makes no sense.

And the next question is who is the permanent RAW GM? Bret? Vince? Austin? Abraham Washington? Norman Smiley?

holy hell..thats probably the stip on Cena/Batista. Bats wins and Vince is RAW GM, Cena wins and Bret is GM.

Makes just as much sense as a celebrity being in control of Raw

I could care less who has power over what. They're going to book what they're going to book. On screen authority figures are overdone. Whatever their jurisdiction is doesn't bother me, since it's coming from the booking team anyways

Who empowers these people anyway? Is it Vince? The Board of Directors?

They're empowered for ratings. It's the same reason why guys get into arguments about who DDTed whose wife, and why nobody ever gets arrested for hitting eachother with sledgehammers.

as a result of the GM guest host gimmick ending, the bella twins, santino marella, and others have been released from the WWE, we would like to wish them all the best of luck in all their future endeavors

Nope, Guest host time will be taken up with replays of the previous week's show, and WM adverts

Last years Raw before Mania was attrocious. NOTHING important happened and WM adverts were every 3 minutes.

Also Hogan, Hall, Nash and Pac will be on the other channel.

I would Imagine that Rock will come back as GM / Commish type role. Just because they are ending the guest hosts doesn't mean they didnt work anything out.


I have mixed feelings about it ending. As a UK viewer a lot of the guest hosts have been a bit lame, but there have been some good guest hosts.

Anyway, glad to see it...hope they finally put a proper GM in charge. My vote goes to Regal, who has always been brilliant in authority roles and I honestly don't see any other reason that they separated him from Zeke on another show.

But, as much as we all hated the guest host concept...hard to say it was a bad idea by WWE business-wise. They likely didn't even have to pay most of the hosts, because they wanted to promote a show or book or whatever. Free publicity both ways.</font>

It would be a great way to head to Mania, and a even better way to start the new season with the Draft.

And a totally awesome way to kick off the summerslam angle with Mr. Dwayne Johnson being the semi permanant GM.

Austin being the last host makes sense. He’ll piss off Vince McMahon, leading to Vince ending it. The RAW before WrestleMania needs to be the sell for the Pay-Per-View; they don’t need a host in the way.

I'd like to see JBL come back and do it. He can attract heat and he's killer on the mic.

If you throw him onscreen right after he gets retired (if so) on a permanent basis, it cheapens the whole thing...so...no. Unless its a farewell ceremony, I wouldn't want HBK on my screen for quite sometime.

I agree. JBL would make an immense GM. It's also been nearly a year since we've seen him so it would have some shock to it if he just showed up.

Also, Billy. How is it obvious HBK's going to win. I don't see what you're seeing in the build.

William Regal is who I am hoping for. HBK is far from a bad idea, though. I think he'll want to spend some time at home with his family, though. Regal as evil GM again would be tremendous.

It would be cool if JBL became the General Manager.

Regal's abusive GM gimmick had so much potential. Probably could have won the world title. That's unlikely now that regal has 2 strikes, so I'm hoping for JBL.

Pretty sure the rock is way too busy to be on raw, even if it was only every other week.

JBL IS A GOOD IDEA.. But if paul heyman stil wants to work on wwe.. he is the BEST!

The Rock will be GM around summer. We need a heel GM leading up to that.. Regal would be the best fit.

If Regal had not been suspended, I'm pretty sure he would have been the RAW GM, King of the Ring and WWE Champion. He's only got himself to blame, sadly. I still think he could play a great authority figure role, though.

RAW GM, King of the Ring - ok. But for some reason I don't see him as the champion.

He was heading towards a WWE Title win, I feel. The way he was abusing his power, his finishing move was re-established, he was getting epic heat, etc. He was going over CM Punk, too, who held the MITB briefcase at the time, so he was looking pretty credible. Triple H was the WWE Champion, and I think he would have gladly dropped the title to Regal, given that he was the one who suggested moving Regal to RAW and pushing him.

I also suspect that his "unstoppable reign of tyranny" would have led to CM Punk cashing in Money in the Bank, and saving the fans from Regal's corrupt hold on the title.

I kind of liked Gorilla Monsoon as Prez/ Commissioner. GM should be more of an arbitrator and not necessarily heel or face in my opinion. Maybe one of the old timers (except for Dusty).

I agree Norman Smiley as GM could be good the fans loved him. It's probably never gonna happen though. Jake Roberts reminds me of the old guy in ur neighborhood that all the parents tell there kids never to reach into there pockets or even go near him.

Paul Bearer should be GM if JBL doesn't do it....

Or if they could get him (they can't), I'd love to see Jesse Ventura as permanent GM. Scratch that, I'd rather have him announce. Hell, I'd even take Lawler as GM as a compromise if they brought Jesse in to announce. Never gonna happen though.

Yes JBL would be fantastic, but it's not going to happen.

I think ideally since Steve Austin is the last guest host he does a favor for one of his biggest rivals.

Austin would announce that if Bret Hart is able to beat Vince McMahon at Wrestlemania he will be the permanent General Manager of RAW.

It would make sense for Austin to do this because of his history with McMahon. Simple, and effective. Where is my check?

How would you end the guest host gimmick on RAW?
 

This stuff can’t go on forever, but how do they end it? Do they simply just phase it out and pretend it didn’t happen? Just announce that it’s coming to an end the night after WrestleMania? Have someone like Gary Busey do something crazy and have Vince McMahon come out and say no more hosts? How should they scrap it when they do?

They could bring in a General Manager.
